What could that kid have possibly been done to push the parent toward doing that?

My daughter was murdered in a domestic violence event. In 2019, her ex boyfriend broke in and shot her in the head in front of their 3 year old daughter. He took the child, ran up the street, broke into a church, and shot himself, leaving my grandbaby alone outside the door. Safe. Every time I see these incidents, it just reminds me of how volatile and unpredictable some people can be. Leaving behind a family who will never heal from this grief. Prayers for all 💔🙏

I read a related article out of curiosity. The family had recently filed bankruptcy, their home was in foreclosure, and the daughter was a student at Middlebury, which is one of the most expensive colleges in the US. I wonder if this event had to do with not being able to afford their daughter's tuition anymore. I wonder if the father couldn't bear his failure and went insane.

This DA put my life at risk. He threw out a case against my husband (even though probable cause was found) with no explanation and my ex continues to harass me. An advocate was rude and said at least I got away with my life! I’ll never forget her tone of voice! They didn’t even look at all The evidence.It was frightening and difficult to follow through with charges and in the end when they throw it out you are left with an ex who didn’t face consequences and wants revenge. This has to be the most corrupt DA in the US. It’s common knowledge there that justice depends on who you know and what lawyer you get. My lawyer was even afraid to ask questions or make waves with this DA. I’m willing to bet this women wasn’t protected or was afraid of her husband’s status in society. Also I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t blame the victim in some way. Rip to her and her daughter. If you ever hear Massachusetts is tough on domestic violence it is because they are not. Those are just words.

My neighbor vandalized my outlet in a shared basement of my condo, and I ended up electrocuted. Sadly,, an abuser can always find a new reason or project one as he seeks to control the money, isolate her, and punish her and/or the children for any perceived infraction. Mere words oftentimes can’t calm a person down; were it that easy.
I’ve never had an abusive partner but I grew up in up in a violent, abusive home, witnessed and was subjected to it for years. What stopped him? When I got older I pressed charges after he attacked me and broke my arm. I took him to domestic violence court with pictures and practically a verbatim account of what he said and did; he agreed to plead guilty because the evidence was overwhelming. From that day forward, he knew that I wasn’t afraid, that I’d call the police and I’d protect my mother and younger brother if I heard of ANY violence in the home. A night in jail shook up this middle class accountant who hid behind closed doors. From that night onward I left home and never returned but was in touch with my Mother and brother to check on their safety and prepared to go the police, if need be. For far too long he held all the power and controlled the family. I took some of the power back.
I have experienced domestic violence and my 2 teens since they were children. It's horrific. I am very sorry.

As someone who was born quite privileged I can assure you it doesn't buy happiness, but it will buy a lot of fun toys and properties that can assist with that. What really matters though is having a family that loves each other, and plenty of friends who love you back, that is the most important type of wealth in my eyes.

Not me I watch so many people in love stuffer because they are poor and it kills me. Homeless, addicts, children brainwashed into a life they shouldn't live. Poor is not fun for most this is why crime rates rise in poverty stricken areas. Not to mention so many things from incidents, addiction, trauma,. medical issues, and stress causes mental illness. Which can't be fixed because they can't afford to go to a doctor, to see a therapist, to get help financially, and rehab. I know a lot of people who started doing drugs when they were kids myself included, because we were bored and didn't have enough money to do anything. They were bullied in school because they didn't have nice clothes. Never developed any electrical skills like computers because they never owned one.
What a terrible situation. People just assume that if you have a beautiful house in a nice town and have a family, that everything's peachy. You never know what goes on behind closed doors.
3 people in an 11 bedroom house sounds like the loneliest and creepiest living experience.

I grew up in a family with a picture of the last supper on the wall. It was not a good family. We have to learn to love ourselves, which includes identifying maladaptive family dynamics and stepping away from abuse. If we worship the most horrific family dynamics as loving, we end up with a society rampant with domestic violence.
I don't know about that. I personally know a family that went to church and was religious. Things did not turn out good for them. The father ended up molesting his daughter, she's all messed up today, the mom was hideous person, who lied and stole money and did not care about her kids.
I once lived in Dover with a woman who went on to become my wife. She was physically and emotionally abusive but I didn't really think she could significantly hurt me physically or emotionally so I just kinda took the bad with the good. I never once hit her back and for years never even felt the urge to, I'd just walk away when she got out of control. After a few years that started to change though. Now when she'd hit me or say something insanely mean...I could feel the urge to strike back bubbling up. I started to think about how small I could make her feel if I wanted to...I was almost fantasizing about it. By this time, we'd had a beautiful baby. Without our child in the picture, I'd still be with my ex-wife. I loved her very much and I could take the abuse. That being said, now that I knew I could go from someone who could take a punch in the face from a woman and not even think about hitting back to someone who was half-fantasizing about how I'd show her who was boss if she ever hit me again...I knew I had to leave. A real trip seeing this story...who knows...possibly my life in an alternate reality where I decided to stay.
I don't mean to suggest that this poor woman was abusing her husband. We don't know for sure what happened, but smart money is on the husband killing his wife, his daughter, and himself. The reason I told that story is for any guy who is maybe in a similar situation to the one I was in. If you are...just leave. Don't roll the dice on "I could never do something like that" or "she would never do something like that to me." These things progress and they get out of hand, it's not always as simple as some people are just evil. Divorce sucks but once the dust settles it's really not all that bad, and kids are better off with relatively happy divorced parents than married parents who are miserable and hate each other.

Thank you for sharing you story, I can relate on some level not quite the same but I care for my Mum who has depression anxiety and memory loss she has become very aggressive mean and if she drinks violent she once attack me with a knife 🔪. I stay as I am her only family here to look after her. At times I picture myself showing her she is not really in charge just that I allow her to do it.

I have been in a similar situation. Never got married or had a kid though. But I also went through a rough time and felt we were stuck together. My ex wouldn't think twice about hitting me if she flew into a rage. Things hadn't always been that way and I always told myself things would change and go back to how we were when we were wicked happy with each other. Anyway, eventually she ended up attacking me while I was in bed, stuck in the covers and couldn't get away, I eventually managed to run out of the house and lock myself in my car but she had my keys and phone. I would have called the cops this time because it was bad. I was bleeding and shit but she called my father to pick me up and he talked me out of calling the police. Anyway this wasn't the complete end of it because we shared an apartment and i had no place to stay after and ended up living back at my place with her for about a month before she decided she wanted to get me kicked out (both names were on the lease). She took my keys in the morning before I went to work (I didn't have time to fight with her over this needed to go to work) so while i was at work she went to get a restraining order on me (property management actually told her to do this) she had threatened this before and i had video of her threatening to do so. I ended up arrested later that day for domestic assault because apparently she had a bruise on her wrist that the police saw while filing the order. Any bruise she had was probably from her punching me in the head. Police didn't care about the video I had of her threatening to do this to get me kicked out, they told me it's not their job to watch videos and I'd have to save it for court. Anyway I was trying to go home and I was ripped out of my car by police 5 different cruisers surrounded me. Towed my car. Spent the night in jail. Multiple court appearances, money and pain. I never once hit her. Finally the prosecutors just dropped the charges.
The company, which the wife founded and launched in 2016, dissolved in December 2021. Husband was COO. Hard to stay afloat for 2 years. Especially on house worth almost $7M.
Some ppl are just not resilient. Can’t fathom downgrading to live in a studio apartment with a family of 3, driving a 15 year old car, working a crappy job…that’s a reality for many.
Rather stay lower class compared to becoming wealthy and then losing it all.

And some of the happiest people you'd ever meet live in small homes or apartments with 15 plus year old cars!

We are saving for a heater right now . Using our fireplace. But I guarantee nobody would think we have a care in the world. I had breast cancer and fear it will come back. I worry about my kids every day. Money isn’t everything and can’t buy health or happiness. It doesn’t solve all problems either . Ppl put too much on finances. I was happy when we married and had min wage jobs. We had worries then and still have them . God be with those left behind to pick up the pieces. Poor young lady .

All those rich types do is compare themselves to each other. If you compare them to the average person it'd be like stepping into a different world.
I don't envy families in big houses because I was once thr abused child in a big a house. I rem being in Walmart in my teens and a little girl said to her mom "there's the girl who lives in the castle". She was acting as if I was a Disney princess. Little did she know after that interaction I went a few aisles over and cried. She had no idea the horror in the "castle". At 46 I still remember and will never forget.
These are critical times. It's awful to see violence anywhere.
As a retired law endeavor officer, this is one of the most tragic and dangerous calls to have to respond to. Dangerous for the families and for the officers responding. Responding in the aftermath as in this case is tragic because these lives were important, tragic for the loved ones who’ve lost these people, and tragic for society in general. Prayers for the community, for the family and for the loss of this family.
