Blackbox Workflow: Stock Sounds

- Another workflow video, by popular demand, on one of my favorite machines: the 1010music Blackbox. Using stock sounds to build upon a technique I got from another CZcams video by @TonyJamesMorton Go check it out if you want to know more, he’s doing a great job explaining it. I also take a brief look at song mode.

Cheers! That’s the trick I picked up from CZcams. Resampling the playhead movement seemed to be the easiest way to get what I was after 😃

love these. thank you for doing this. keep up the great work. still cant force myself to use my blackbox for anything beyond a loop catching device to save my favorite sounds for later with. i wish someone would combine this thing with a digitakt-style interface + sequencer

I hear you on the sequencer. That has been my only “gripe” with it but on the flip side, its limitations have actually made me quite creative as well. Especially when combined with the Bluebox you get a setup that makes you think differently while still feeling like it’s one machine with lots of power.
That being said, I have been looking at a Syntakt for a while to work with the Blackbox but learned yesterday the cheaper Models have the full Elektron sequencer as well. Would probably be a good idea. Cheers, Sonny

@@sonfx Hi, how is the beta 3015 as you're on it right now if I am nor mistaken? All smooth and stable :) making lives of voluntary beta testers a bed of roses? To be honest I am a bit traumatised with some of the Elektron fw updates and sooo, haven't attempted to update my BB yet. Have.a great weekend, thanks for the videos!
@@PawelKaminski-cq1frhey, as far as I can tell it is all good but one thing, which is an older bug, according to some posts on the forum. It has to do with note input in the sequences. Sometimes you enter some notes, go to another menu and then when you’re back in sequences to edit your notes, they’re just gone. This is annoying but the team knows about it so I’m sure it’ll be fixed anytime now.
I haven’t used Elektron for many years but I’ll probably look into the Syntakt in the future. Have a great weekend you as well and much thanks for watching! Cheers, Sonny

The main thing I'm looking for outside of the 1010music world is actually an intuitive sequencer. If it doubles as a very good sound source for sampling into the blackbox, that'd be great. Syntakt seems to tick all those boxes :)
