    Thank you for the video! Btw the idea with the towel between chain and sprocket to hold everything!! Genius idea!!!

    Why not change the front one?

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  Před 28 dny +1

      I don’t like changing the front, a smaller front sprocket make the chain pivot more and will wear it more, also the smaller the front sprocket the more weight the chain puts on the swing arm chain buffer.
      But that is my opinion, some people have different opinions

    ... Looking to get a 42 for my 2021 300 Rally.
    The way I understand it the bolt kit comes with the sprocket, correct?
    Thank you for all your videos. I know that takes time to film, edit and upload. I appreciate it.

    Hi, thank you for your input. May I ask if you consider the 14/42 a better option than stock 14/40 for geneal use /on/off and touring around Europe/stock size tires/? How has it influenced the performance when overtaking as well as the top speed? Thanks.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  Před 3 měsíci

      Oh yes, especially off road it will help. On road it will be a little quicker but you wil lose a little top end, not much. Your speedometer will be off a little

    • @TheSharkypeto
      @TheSharkypeto Před 3 měsíci

      @@WOODZMAN Thank you. How much of the top end loss are talking about? Is the loss worth it in favor of the on street overtaking performance? Thanks lot.

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  Před 3 měsíci +1

      @TheSharkypeto I lose about 5mph, but I think it’s worth it, I’m not really worried about on road speed, the bike isn’t for speed anyway.
      I have a 45 on the rear now, it tops out at about 45 and the Speedo is like 7mph off but I like it so much better off road

      @@WOODZMAN ...
      Why did you go to the 45T?
      1st gear must be crawling speed and 2nd walking speed now.
      You must be able to lift the front wheel with just a blip of the throttle, right?
      .
      I want to go up on the rear sprocket but only want to do it once.
      Would rather not get another chain that's why I was going to go with the 42T.

      @240LTS just went to the 45 because it will help off road, it’s definitely slower but not it still don’t have that kind of power lol.
      It helps out in the mountains but it still has it’s limits

    • @WOODZMAN
      @WOODZMAN  Před 9 měsíci +3

      I am running a taller tire now, that is what I changed the sprocket to 42T. I am running a 110/100-18 Tractionator Dester H/T

      @@WOODZMAN 100 ! Makes total sense to change. Bought a set of 19/17 wheels and trying to decide on gearing while not having to change the front sprocket or chain each time I swap.
      Quite sure I'd need to keep the rear no greater than 2 teeth apart. 3 might work with same chain (longer replacement chain obviously) but the placement of the axle might be somewhat extreme. It's already a relatively short wheelbased bike.
