The fact that you were faster than a script is honestly very funny
I bet when hypo set the delay in the script he was like, no way anyone is faster than x number milliseconds--gotta make it believable!
Hypno had some headstart as well that's insane.
@@mikoajpietrych6168
The headstart was when he wasn't using the script.
@@lordelliott42 Hypno starts spamming first in this too
Figured it had something to do with X being a guitar player, this confirms it.
This is probably the most we'll ever see of X in a HC episode
I was like "WOAH a hand reveal ??" before I remembered we have footage of X shredding the guitar in a tank top
@@Hat_shaped Oh yeah that's right lol I got excited too
Season 10 is crazy we're getting Etho AND Xisuma lore, never thought I'd see the day
@@Hat_shapedsame😂😂 i was like wait we’ve seen literally everything but his face already lmao
Haha Instead of a face cam, X will be known for hand cam!
First we got an Etho Setup, now an Xisuma Hand, damn we are blessed these days!
Xisuma Guitar videos on Xisumatwo
I love the "as long as I don't TOUCH the profits, it doesn't count as selling it" approach. The next step is a hopper that takes out the diamonds and stores them nearby - for when the proper owner of the permit comes along, of COURSE. You never touched a single shiny rock. Wink.
Lol
I prefer the audio from the headset, it feels a bit more vibrant, while the phone audio feels a bit more dull
There’s more of an echo (is that reverb?) with the phone.
@@sawbladeknight1592 Yeah the phone echo is horrible the headset is way better.
I think the phones mic setting has a little too much gain, which is causing the echo. Picking up too much sound in a large room i would suspect.
yeah the phone one is much more 'bold' or something but headset one is way more softer and feels good to hear on CZcams
@@divyanshupandey8150this EXACTLY! Phone is good if you were on a discord call, zoom meeting, but the headset is better for CZcams imo too
I love the "wool street" idea. Such a clever pun.
They need a wall some where to be the "Wall of Wolf Street"
If only the street could be made entirely out of wool...!
Imagine: black wool street with white wool lines, grass made of wool, brown+green wool trees, wool wall of wool street... :D
Woolfs of the Wool Street is what made it for me
Such a cool idea, they can remake the bull on Wall Street into a sheep!
I fully expect an outfit change to wolves in sheep's clothing! 😆
Hey X, I’m a sound engineer and figured I’d explain why. First of all phone’s have insanely high quality mics now a days. The other thing is the phone caught a lot more reverb that was probably being cut in OBS and made you voice sound more full.
it's interesting how some people prefer the more reverby sound with more low end and others prefer the "cleaner" sound of the headset
@@lorenzogeere1956 reverb sounds more natural, i guess
I'd put some filters to the track on the editing software and would be perfect. I remember a few years back I had to record a quick jingle and used my phone instead of a mic, I was greatly surprised how clean and clear it sounded.
Yeah, not even a sound person myself, but I could tell right off the cuff that it was just the quality of the mic in the phone x was hearing more then anything else. Though the reverb does add a certain je ne sais quoi
The Hermitcraft squad will go down in history.
Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. I love seeing all of you create a beautiful little universe all together.
I can’t wait to revisit these videos years in the future, X.
Have a nice day :)
Thank you very much!
Maybe the exclamation mark can become your signature element in the shopping district! It is an X-clamation mark, after all!
Also, I like the little book of lore in your new shop :)
Would that make X into the anti-Impulse? Since Impulse plops an "i" onto everything he builds. LOL
X-claimation. X claims whatever is marked with X-claimation mark.
Ha usually X marks the spot, this time X-claims the spot
You're all too clever
an i, an !. Opposite sides of the same coin, or in this case the same side from a different angle
You gotta get a wolf onto the side of woolstreet and name it The Wolf of Woolstreet 😂
wolf in sheeps clothing!
Woolf of woolstreet
Don't even name it, let them figure it out, but make sure the wolf is clearly visible.
@@GardorI was gonna suggest naming it DiCaprio, just to give a small hint rather than outright saying it
Woolf oof woolstroolt
I love how season 10 has seen the builders like grian and pearl try redstone in one way or another, and the redstoners like you and mumbo try to up their building game
And Impy. He said he's a builder now.
No more "I'm not a builder" excuses from the T, I, X, and M
And in general also the hermit explaining a lot more to each other ad on camera - I so love that!
you’ve got an advantage to the clicking game as a guitarist/bassist! as a cellist myself, the minute I saw you switch to the left hand, I was like oh yeah, he’s TRAINED for this with quick finger changes in music 😂
absolutely love the shop! it makes a perfect little corner to that street, and the earthy vibe made it feel nice and cozy. it’s given me inspiration for my own world! thanks for a fantastic video!
forget Etho lore... we got Xisuma lore!! Love the new shop :D
phone audio is better but it also is picking up what bounces off your walls. im surprised you dont have a "streamer mic" set up but then again Grian bought out the stock for his cruddy headset so his audio is always consistent. i know another youtuber h2o delirious has pretty much done the same because his regular voice sounds so different on a professional mic set up.
this is what I thought too
I believe he bought a nice mic and then stopped using it. My partner can’t watch xisuma videos because they’ve always had low audio quality, she doesn’t understand why he doesn’t fix it for all these years. We decided it must just be part of the Doomguy persona. But based on what he said in this video I’m now suspecting he really just can’t hear what’s better/worse.
@fashnek which is kind of interesting in a way, because he is a musician as well.
@@markgregory983 lol, different types of musicians are tuned to different types of sounds, he said that he was a guitarist soooo
@@fashnek I've also tuned out of his videos in the past because of the audio. With a proper DAC and amp, and nice headphones, most of the hermits sound like they're in the same room as me. I think the quality and type of headset/speakers people have is influencing their opinions a lot about the phone verses headset comparison. For me, the phone sounds so bad I could hardly even listen to the short bit in this video. The headset sounds surprisingly good for what it is.
Your phone definitely sounds deeper, but I wouldn't call it better because of the reverb. You might be able to get your headset sounding better if you mess around with an audio equalizer, maybe boosting the bass a bit to get it sounding closer to what your phone sounds like. It can be a bit of a process, but making lots of small changes and deciding whether each change makes it sound better or worse can really make a lot of difference with that sort of thing.
I love that you and Joe both immediately thought of the same ways to warp the intent of the permits in a way that didn't directly benefit yourselves
i love how bdubs’s one shop popped up an entire neighborhood in the shopping district. this season might be on the track to having my favorite shopping district
I just loved how the building “flows”. Nothing is crammed and the block palette is really beautiful
...you got to "Go With The Flow"
Your phone audio sounds a little messier with the echo, but it is also highlighting the deeper tones in your voice more. I slightly prefer the cleaner audio from the headset, but it is missing some of the richness of your actual voice. Your phone is also probably much closer to the way you hear your voice in your head.
It's hard to get good audio from a small microphone, but phone manufacturers put a lot of research and development into specifically capturing voices clearly.
You could probably use an equalizer to get a similar tone from your headset, or you could look into different microphones and their dynamic ranges.
Your headset mic may be designed to make your voice clearly understood even over a bad connection, which would put more focus on higher frequencies to make sure your consonants come through.
There is so much depth to understanding microphones and how they give a particular tone or sound to what they are recording. I only know a little bit about it, but enough to know that it can get very, very deep.
This is an amazing comment, makes me want to research audio more. Thank you!
@@Crayonberry1212oh no they've got you
For audio, I would definitely get a standalone microphone like a Shure SM7B. Headset microphones are often worse in quality compared to phones, but phones pick up the echos from your wall since it is further away from your mouth. The sound comes across as more natural from your phone, but having the echo makes it worse for the listener, even though your voice is higher quality.
TLDR: Don't use a phone since it adds a lot of echo. A standalone microphone is much better as it will have good audio quality and reduce the echo.
Honestly, I think that the ATR2100x would be plenty of a jump in audio quality. And X's voice is so calm we wouldn't really hear the difference between the two. The upside to the ATR being it can be used via USB. So no need to purchase extra equipment.
I gotta say, I LOVE how the Hermits are approaching the shopping district this season! You all make sure to incorporate the thing you're selling into the build, which leads to a lot of unexpected designs that most people would never consider (such as using rooted dirt and hay bales for a building roof, for example)! Its just so cool to see you guys make obscure blocks look good in such unique ways!
I especially like how Gem used Birch Logs (one of the most hated logs that nobody ever uses) in her moss shop. :3
9:32 thats actually the intention, her build style this season is "solarpunk" which is kind of a blend of futuristic and nature
solarpunk = a sustainable future instead of the dystopian capitalism we have today
Headset audio is 1000% better. Phone just has to much echo and will get annoying very quickly
9:33 i am so glad that you manage to pick up on the futuristic vibe pearl was going for
Xisuma, I love the logical way you approach building. It makes it easy to follow your thoughts, and also as someone who is trying to improve my building it is an interesting perspective.
Pearl sells those too at her truck, they are a little bit more in the back area of the truck sell space :D
I love how the shops Bdubs created have inspired so many Hermits to add to it in their own styles
absolutely loving the vibe of Market Street with your addition makes the place feel so much more alive like shipments come in through rooted to supply the other shops via river too
Also he still calls leaves growing on a roof frame a pagoda, not a pergola. He did that way back in season one
i personally think your phone makes you sound like a completely different person hahaha
also, your rooted dirt shop is so cute! love the colour palette!
All phones do that, my parents sound way different on phone than they do in person.
Cool to see you only use one hand. I'm also a guitarist but Ive done a lot more drumming so i alternate clicking between my two hands when i butterfly.
So regarding sound, phone is better cause it has a wider frequency response. you can hear the lower parts of your voice, but their is a lot of echoing because of the phone.
interesting he uses his left hand instead of his mouse hand / strumming fingers.
Should defnitely incorporate a wolf into your later Wool street build. A wolf in sheep's clothing (wool) makes it double relevant!
Love how the shopping district is turning out such an awesome conglomerate of building styles
Gonna be honest...I initially thought the fingers in the thumbnail were breadsticks. Guess I'm hungry (it is almost lunchtime). Time to watch the video.
wdym? he obviously spams his mouse with breadsticks not his fingers
Can we just appreciate that X actually beat Hypno’s script? That's impressive as heck.
At my home we truly thought you were trying to have bad audio all these years so it would sound like Doomguy. And the phone sounds really bad too because of the room reverb. Nope, the solution would be a high quality dynamic mic (not compressor) on a mounted boom arm. And some panels (or shelves of rough/soft things like books and plushes) to the left/right of the recording area.
"Finger action" X be careful, Cub is listening at all times now.
x you have truly improved a lot in building throughout the years and this build might be my favourite from you of all time (so far!) it adds such an amazing new feeling to that shop neighbourhood while still fitting in perfectly. it has been a joy seeing you discover new ways of looking at building and taking inspiration from so many different place. keep it up!!
The Wolves of Woolstreet is so dang good!!! I need Zed and X skins wearing high end custom suits.
X, you should display your permit on the lectern with an armour stand!
I love seeing how proud all the hermitcraft members are of their builds, and how most of them are really trying hard in them. Your rooted dirt shop looks awesome!
Cheaty guitar fingers LOL yup that has to be it. Nicely done. You've got the skills to shark fellow hermits at this game but you don't got the game to get fellow hermits to wager haha. A very Xisuma sort of problem. ^^
I think the phone is fuller sounding but it's not great. I'm not a sound engineer though so I can't explain it. I still prefer your regular audio!
I love how all the hermits are adding to the shopping street. We can easily distinguish the building styles but they all work together to make those streets beautiful and cozy.
what a gorgeous Rooted! shop, the lore, the variation in blocks but it also ties each piece well. the booshes and plants too, ah so good!!!
X is getting to some cheeky bussiness with The Wool street. I hope he and maybe Ren start more underground trades with their Log Land
Xisuma butterflyclicking in 1.20 wasn’t smth I expected lol
I’m surprised that the people who thirst for him on his second channel haven’t said anything about it. I mean, those jokes are low-hanging fruit, but knowing the internet and how dirty some Hermitcraft fans are, I figured there’d be at least a few jokes about it.
I prefer the audio from the headset because its more of a calming sound and I dont have to turn anything down. The phone audio yes is louder but catches every sound.
Regarding the audio. I wanted to comment to say i have no preference one way or the other. Some people might then say "why comment?". I think it's important that you know that some of your audience have no preference. Great video! Loved the build. :-)
20:05 The phone audio sounds so much more realistic, like it went from 2D to 3D
So fast you beat a script!! Legend
Honestly X, what sounds better is probably setting a mic stand on a tissue box from costco.
(Actually they both sound fine but I wanted to do a silly)
The shop looks phenomenal, X! I love the docks in the back and the leafy overhang and the rest of the details. My favorite shop design so far this season!
Phone sound has too much reverb - understandably, because it's much further. It will also pick up too much keyboard and mouse
Headset sound has too much compression, which makes it flat, but overall I prefer it
Me having to click and find my place again
dang xisuma can click fast!! he sure would be good at something like oh idk bedwars maybe??
I'm a new viewer and I recently started watching your content, x! I really enjoy what you do and its so fun just watching how you create and build, including all the fun interactions you have with the other hermits!
I just wanted to say that I think you're super cool!
14:20 if you put the exclamation mark at the beginning of word, it would look like some root-related console command (changes absolutely nothing, just a small easter egg for some pc enthusiasts)
or some people would think it is NOT rooted because of the exclaimation mark
The phone sounds cleaner (your voice) but also messier (ambient, reflections)
CLOSE UP HAND mouse & fingers reveal lmao
I didn't think you were actually going to do it. Super cool :)
Love the Woolves of Wool Street motif! And a very cool ROOTEDW (I can't see the exclamation mark before I see a W...) shop.
I like that you're wanting to become a better builder this season. Trust me, it's happening and I'm excited to see it! Having all the blocks in your enderchest really helps out with that, I remember Etho saying something about his own enderchest.
I should say though, just because Joel/Bdubs go super detailed with their builds it doesn't make them "better" than another builder. Obviously they're beautiful but that street is starting to blend together and become a mish-mash of every single block in the game. At least Stress' neon shop still stands out.
Fantastic build X, really enjoyed your thought process behind it
loved the video keep it up
The headset sounds better in my opinion
Using the Hay Bale was really clever it blends perfectly with the other blocks I think your a very good builder but your definitely getting better absolutely love the shop
Love the shop X!!! Adding a yellow outline around the banners if you can would probably make them pop more, I believe thats how Bdubs did his. Keep up the great work this season
It's back finally
What happened that xisuma reposted the video?
I like the pergola! I play a private LAN with my daughters. I’m going to borrow your idea. ROOTED!😂
Beautifullll build X!!! Love how you walk us through the thought process behind each step gg's man!
I'm super early that almost all comments were from bots with explicit pfp.. why is this still a thing on YT smh
yeah, I clicked on the video and there were like 8 of them

Funny how inflation is even making its way to the hermitcraft server
X, I love following your journey to becomming a better builder, and as such have a some notes about your shop. (All of it of course just imho).
- First of, the ideas behind all of the elements in the build are great, they build lore, tell a story, and make you more invested and interested in the build. You love to see it.
- That said the piglin armor stand is a confusing element because it's a piglin, which has nothing inherently to do with rooted dirt or your shop. But if it was, say, you (as with Doc in the wood shop), then it would suddenly have meaning: Here's X, who's discovered the magnificence of rooted dirt, he's holding it up for everyone to see, and selling it because he must share its wonder with the world. The piglin could of course still work, but it would need some sort of intergration/tie to the shop to do so.
- The area of your build that could improve the most is the palette. The other builds in the area share one thing, a destinct bottom and top palette, whereas your build is only brick. This makes it a bit one note to look at. So I'd suggest experiment with replacing the top with a different block palette. The same goes for the top garden area, the floor is almost all rooted dirt, which sort of makes it lose its significance, and doesn't really display why rooted dirt can be such an effective block to use in your builds. And also the dock area, the rest of the build has delapedated and run down features, so the dock being in such a prestine condition is a bit of a clash, it's supposed to be used frequently, so tell that story!
- Which bring us to the last note, details! Your build could use more of them. Of course, placing the right details in the right place is a tricky skill to master, so getting ideas and insight from the master builders on the server is highly encouraged. A few things I would do would be: Add ladders at the end of rails, maybe signs in between those ladders and/or trapdoors under them, so as to envelop the haybale roof more. Replace one or two of the fences in the wall with a sign, or maybe a trapdoor. Make the dock more busy with barrels, shipments of rooted dirt and other fun stuff I haven't come up with while writing this. And things that would make the roof more interesting to look at.
Keep it up X, you're already a good builder, and with dedicated effort, you're gonna be a great one in no time.
Also, headset audio is definetly better in this case, because your phone picks up ambient noise from your room due to it being further away from your mouth. For a true comparison, you would need your phone close to you, as though it were a mic. Also also, if you really want to get into making your audio sound better, you can always talk to your resident expert Impulse about it ;)
Geez X, that rooted dirt shop is wonderful! There is so much detail and compliments the other shops, X really is getting better and better at building :D
Reupload….ok
Idea for a shop design: explosion of colored wool with giant sheep flying out of it like superman
love that building X it looks great! I would say the headset sounds better audio wise, whilst I think I can hear some slight clipping, it is much more condensed and warm compared to the phone which feels more echoey
X!! this shop is so pretty! your building was already amazing but is definitely approving :DD
Why did he upload the video then put it on private, then reupload it
there was an audio mistake that needed to be fixed
X! Fantastic build. The effort is really showing through.
Really love how deep you get into describing the other's build styles!
Classically trained bass player here: rotating your wrist in the sort of hammer-on/pull-off motion to alternate between 3 fingers is the way i max out my clicks, larger the muscle groups the faster and more precisely you can move :)
I love the mix of timelapse and cuts for progress in this video. It makes it feel as if the viewer is present at every stage but not dragging through the monotonous details. Well done, I have enjoyed it!
i loves it! between yours and the clay shop, a little bridge going across the water to the beacon area could be charming.
X, you are the best! Your builds have evolved so much from way back, I love your way to improve yourself, your trolls and derps and music, your explanations, your ground to earth manner, your waffling and your tutorials! Awesome!!!!!
X: "my finger action"
Perverts: "Oh great he finally said it"
I think the headset sounds a lot better. As well, with the phone, it sounds like it's only in one ear or at least much more in one ear than the other while the headset is balanced. The phone audio is definitely louder, but with the tradeoff of quality.
I loved the building segment. Brilliantly done, easy to follow and felt great to see each logical of your design!
Amazing build here, X!
I was Rooted into the backstory of it!
Btw, nice fingers!
12:10 in the Netherlands a lot of older houses near a canal used those cranes on their houses to indeed lift goods from the water into the building. It’s actually very common for those kind of buildings to still have the cranes. If possible I’d say to try and see if you can do something similar!
Just google canal house and you should get plenty of examples!
In order to pass through these woods, you must bring us some Shrubbery!!!
Rooted dirt shop looks awesome! Love the vibes!
That build is really cool! Kind of makes me remember your season 8 base somehow. I look forward to more builds from you this season!
I loved the explanations while you were building the rooted shop. It looks fantastic!
I just finished watching Cubs episode of making the shop, so you intro was quite literally a seamless transition!
the rooted shop is beautiful! i love all the work you put into the environment around the shop, it's really a highlight of the market street now
Really enjoy the architecture, color, storytelling, and general feel of the shop!
The sniffer flowers are up in the front of the truck bed I think, kinda have to climb up there to get them.
Hi X! Loving the new shop and wool street, the rooted dirt shop is so beautiful. Hope you’re enjoying this season as much as we are!!
The shop looked a bit iffy at the start, but holy crap my expectations were shattered. Awesome build! I can't wait to see what you do with the copper shop and Wool St.
i actually love that stall setup for the wool, it's really cute
I think the phone has a bit more clarity because it doesn't have a low-pass filter /de-esser and the echo it picks up from the room gives it some more presence. I personally prefer the headset mic, but it might help to boost the high-end a little bit and give it a very subtle slap-back echo (with a high-pass filter on the echo if you can).
Love the shop btw! It fits in super well with the others, and I'm loving how close and detailed that area is! It really feels like a small-town downtown, Doc's monstrosity notwithstanding.
The build looks gorgeous!
