Molly when you commented on Elton using his tail as a paint brush. If you could find paint that washes off he could paint on poster board in the back yard. I can picture Elton's artwork selling as a fundraiser for Mira.
Good idea I'm sure critter safe paint exists somewhere and all his pieces would be so unique

Typically most paints that are sold in basic department stores so like don’t go to the act CRAFT stores go to like Walmart. Any of the non toxic paints should be safe just make sure they don’t DRY on the pets fur. So like non toxic acrylic paint that is made to be safe for idiots like myself who have accidentally drank my own paint water. This should be ok. I just say don’t go to a craft store bc you could pick up the really high high quality paints which while they are high quality… they can often be high quality bc they have ingredients in them that are extremely toxic to consume or get on your skin. But something from Walmart should be ok for doggy

It is so empathetic to understand not only the humans' stress from a move, but especially Elton's transition to this new home. I agree that a perk of moving can be the gifts that you give yourself in order to set up the new place. BTW even though I am only partially blind, the head bumps into open cabinets and knee hits when someone moves the table slightly (actually I think it was me when I last vacuumed) are real. So happy for you all. Looking forward to the tour.

My Chi and I need to have a long talk about his need for 15 beds in our 1 bedroom apartment. He steals all my pillows but has learned that Mom gets her bed/night pillow. He only has one eating station though.
Moving can be so stressful and confusing to our animals. I moved with my dog who has generalized anxiety, and to avoid her getting overly stressed she stayed with my parents while I packed, moved, and unpacked, so when she got to the new place it wasn't complete chaos and it smelled and looked like home again. Not everyone is able to do that kind of thing, but it really helped me and I was lucky enough to have the support of my family through it!
When Elton laid down in the empty apartment 🫶🏼 I think it was good to show him that and let him have his feelings too, just like his human does ❤❤

Hey girl, your boo seems like he is a very calm and patient person. I hope this continues throughout your life together. I do think it’s awesome that you have your space and he has his space. I feel like if I ever get married again that is what I would love to have as well. I am a very light sleeper and I feel like I would need my own space a few times a week. I wonder if that’s a thing with most blind people I feel like because we have nastiness our brains. Don’t know that it’s time to shut off because our eyes are constantly moving lol I don’t know anyways congratulations.

So excited for you, and so glad that Elton is settling in! My service dog gets really anxious about moving, and It's oddly comforting to know that we aren't the only team that has a tough time with moves. Our dogs are incredible, but they aren't robots, and we wouldn't want them to be, but sometimes I need the reminder that we don't have to be absolutely perfect 100% of the time to be valid.

We wanted to do an empty walk through with my niece at my brother's old place, but the timing didn't work out. Thankfully she is loving the new place because it has stairs lol.
For mom and I, we paid rent through the end of our lease at the end of this month. We have been trying to move things in from their place at the old apartment, to their place at the new house, but still THERE'S SO MUCH STUFF!!!!! LOL. I'm seriously considering minimalism as my new lifestyle lol.

You can add shelving below the bar as either drawers or opening shelving like the Billy Bookcase. Some of them you could lay horizontally if they were pictured vertically in a space.

When I moved to my husband’s house I had bought myself a house. It was so hard to leave. I had a goodbye party for that home before I moved.

I'm moving right now as someone who is not fully able-bodied (bad knees and generally pretty weak and wobbly). I am SO grateful to have the help that I have but it's still really hard. The Uhaul counter guy confirmed with me several times that I needed the truck for three days instead of just one. I need to take my time

Years ago when I moved out of my apartment I moved what my cat considered her bedside table out of the bedroom and as I started carrying it down the stairs she jumped on top of it like she was trying to stop me from taking it
I tried to declutter a couple (pet) food bowls and my cat got into the box and pulled them back out 😂
A couple of mine sat in the boxes I was packing to prevent me from putting the lid on.

Hi Molly, oh my goodness gracious can I ever relate to you? I had to move almost 9 years ago and as I’m totally blind, it was a pain in the neck. Oh my goodness, gracious, moving and like trying to get all your stuff one place to another box and stuff up and you had stuff all over the place oh it was it was a nightmare.

I think it was because of her medical emergency that she had on Friday. It usually happens once every two months now. It’s not really a big deal as the videos are usually the most ones.

This was fun, I enjoyed hearing so much from your boyfriend! I'm glad Elton is settling in and hopefully you will memorize the layout soon, so no more goose eggs and stubbed toes, OUCH!
We switch sides of the bed sometimes because I am nursing. Sometimes, I get a plugged duct and need to work it out with some different methods. We both use CPAPs, and our settings are close enough to have them the same and just swap the masks.
I have had back pain from the time I was a child. I was finally diagnosed with a congenital spinal disorder after decades of sciatica and years after a ruptured disc. I have Bertolotti Syndrome. I always tell people with chronic back pain to get tested for this syndrome, it is very often undiagnosed. Molly's boyfriend should specifically ask about it and get tested (usually an MRI or MRA can diagnose it) by a doctor who knows about this condition.
It could be just the way he was sleeping too. The new bed and especially the side sleeper pillow will probably help immensely. It did me, and I have arthritis in my entire spine.
@@RiverWoods111of course there could be a congenital issue, but 100% the mattress makes all the difference. I have back pain. Our old mattress was awful. We got a new one (the firmest I could find) and it was great for me but created back pain in my husband. We had to get another bed for him that was a step down. I’m a stomach sleeper, if it matters.

Yes to the ear thing! If I’m anxious or mad they get bright red (not just the tips!). Doesn’t help that I also play with my ears when anxious. 😂

Your bf sounds like a sweetheart. I love how you mentioned that he sees your bfs room as his safe space. I was uncomfortable with how an ex treated my ESA and I feel like that’s definitely a green flag if Elton trusts him to make his room his safe space.

OMG I hate when I hit myself and run into stuff I understand you plus my fiancé totally understands how your dog feels about moving on because he has done the same thing with his former guide dog and he understands that animals and moving are not two things that normally go together but I love the pink in that one room BTW, pink is my favorite color but I love purple too
Oh I feel so bad for your boyfriend. Back problems suck. I have axial Spondyloarthritis. Also called ankylosing spondylitis. But being female I have a lot of peripheral involvement as well. But I’ve had 2 huge back surgeries and I’m going to need a third soon. I now sleep on the highest level “purple mattress.” It is the best mattress I have ever owned.
