Take a peek if you ever find the time, I know how busy you are but I don't think you will be disappointed. A great presenter, cool animations and topics that you will some of, but not nearly enough. His latest on Genghis Khan is WILD !
You should look up Du Cinema as well , talks about the making of movies and the many different aspects of it

Flick Connection is pretty good. Just some guy talking at you about what to watch where - but always hard to stop watching once you get going! And I love that he puts actually useful links in his comments! Great list this episode. Now you can specialise the top 10 themes on CZcams! Do top 10 “go to sleep” - this is a fascinating idea - channels devoted to you stop watching and going to sleep…. Zzzz

I agree! This is a very refreshing change. My taste in movies is often right in line with the recommendations, except maybe the thirsty recommendations lol. This is a great list, I subscribe to tons of similar channels. I'm always excited to find new ones. Thank you!

Not at all fun fact: Most of JCS's videos has been removed from the channel. The entire channel was even gone for quite a while. The sad and annoying fact is that the algorithm works against the more documentary channels. Too bad.
We did a road trip from Mississippi out west. My wife and kids slept while I drove. Zefrank kept me awake and I listened to every episode. He’s hilarious.
Two of my favorites are Thoughty2 and Practical Engineering. They are both incredible.

So glad you did this! Sometimes I'm in the mood to focus on a movie for hours, but if I don't have time I want entertainment like this. Although I knew some of these channels I was pleasantly surprised by others. You find the best stuff!!
Great choices! Being a science buff, I watch pretty much all of these on a regular basis. I'd also recommend Michael Siegel's channel. He's an astronomer who rates TV shows, movies and such on their scientific accuracy. He's sort of dry sometimes (I mean he is a professor) but he's also really entertaining. Loved his take on E.T... The guy actually started tearing up when E.T. got sick.
I’d like to throw Tale Foundry in there. Covers a lot of traditional stories from around the world, their meanings, archetypes and such. All with one of the most soothing voices you’ve ever heard. It’s also animated.

Wow I watch A LOT of CZcams and I’ve literally never heard of a single one of these channels, just goes to show you how vast the content on this platform ranges but I will be checking them all out! For true crime though Beyond Evil and Explore with Us are right up there

I love your choices here, most of which I was familiar with, but a few new ones. Once again you given me some new options for entertainment!
Good suggestions. Yes, please occasionally do more of these YT suggestions highlighting high quality channels of various interests. Currently YT suggests to me a lot of low quality channels that consist of AI scripts, cloned voices, and stock footage that are attempting to mimic successful higher quality channels on the same subject matter. Not interested in watching the knock-off channels clones, but with millions of channels it can be hard to find the best of the best among so much clutter and trash.
Being an information nerd, I appreciate this information....

Thanks for the recommendations. I've been looking for something engaging and trying to break away from mindless content and lots of these are right on spot.
I got one for you. Half As Interesting is a great channel with sometimes weird videos. They break subjects down in a way that makes you think about the building in Delaware that so many businesses have set up an office. Spoiler: it's a tax thing. Or why fast food companies have franchises in the Pentagon. (That one made me think of that scene from Richie Rich where he had a Mickey D's in his mansion.) The videos aren't long at all, most not lasting more than 5 to 7 minutes. Very cool(?) stuff.
Dr Grande is not just for weirdos anymore.
But it's definitely for us weirdos. The rest of you all are welcome too.

We have a crazy interesting CZcams channel featuring Eskrima-Kali-Arnis (martial arts demonstrations & instructional classes), Karate, Classical Yoga, & lately, our Cat Orphanage. We have less subscribers, but oddly, more videos than most of Darren's listings. 275 videos.
I love this channel. Just a suggestion ... I cant be the only one who is always looking for the next good "series".. or limited series to watch. maybe you can do videos on just really good shows (series) on all the platforms? that would be awesome!!!

As a person who mainly watches CZcams, THANK you for this one! I'm always trying to find new Tubers, but the algorithm sometimes makes it really hard. Some of these look great. :)

as a german, it is fascinating for me how hard of a time you have with speaking the word "Kurzgesagt" which is a fairly easy german word :D
I would add Acolytes of Horror to channels. Like Thomas Flight, it goves a more philosophical aspect to movies. The current being Civil War by Garland.
The Why Files is an excellent channel! The production is top notch! CZcams suggested (years ago, it seems) their episode about “Back Rooms” and I subscribed immediately after watching that. It’s fabulous entertainment, in my book.

Explore With Us needs to be on the list, absolute 100% top notch research and narration presenting true crime documentaries. Really one of the best youtube channels if you like this sort of thing.

The Backyard Scientist is always entertaining. For car guys, Engineering Explained is an excellent channel. He explains complex topics about automotive engineering in an understandable way. Matt's Off Road Recovery is a fun channel. Matt and his crew pull people out of the most precarious situations in the desert and mountains in Utah and they do a lot of fabrication of off road vehicles as well.

Everyone should consider a YT subscription for just a tad over a tenspot. 13.99? Replace TV that decides for you your viewing. You can dial in on your choices. Yes it's still "programming" with hot topics avoided but you don't get 100% predictable pablum unless thats what you choose. It's a good deal. We ousted our TV decades ago. TV, it's rather passé. Whats a cable TV package these days, like ten times the 12.99, per month!? CZcams is cheap and can actually grow brain cells (hehe!). Id like to see more channel topics like he covered. I wasn't aware of a single one of those and I'm glad to have them in my notifications list now.
Also Atlas Pro is good if you like geography and plant/animal evolution
