      It sounds a huge paradox coming from a band called PARADISE LOST... All born again christian see the controversial narrative.

    • @0liholz
      @0liholz Před 2 lety

      Interesting that he mentioned Christians, because it was Christ who told the same like Nick told about the afterlife. "The concept is insane, that you think you can get a good life after death by things you do right in your first life." Isn't it the christian gospel itself that we all are sinner and nobody deserves heaven by acts.

      To me, that's even worse. That the Christian god won't even give you any credit for trying - because you were born a sinner, so there's no hope for you unless you accept Christ first. That's just complete garbage to me.

    This is a very nice interview. Gave me a clear understanding of the man's position on religion. Somehow I thought it would be different but it's unexpectedly rational. Good man, Nick.

  • @paragonlink4352
    @paragonlink4352 Před 3 lety +13

    It's absurd how a man of such clear intelligence and musical genius can so carelessly claim that there is nothing good about organised religion. Nick is perhaps like many others, quick to remember the bad but not so eager to proclaim the good. None the less I'll continue to love and support Paradise Lost and pray that one day God is revealed in the hearts of the band.

      Some of us have been directly affected by Religion in bad way, organised religion has poisoned good men, destroyed countries and caused millions to die in wars.
      This is our opinion at the end of the day, history speaks wonders on this topic.
      Any type of reconditioning or indoctrination is unacceptable.
      Just by thoughts on this, completely agree with Nick. To make it clear however, mistreatment, segregation or physical harassment to someone of religious belief is still wrong and I'm sure Nick would agree.
      Have a good day.

    • @QoMSoL
      @QoMSoL Před 2 lety +2

      On the contrary, Nick actually shows clear intelligent understanding of the essence of any organized religion.
      Harsh words about "becoming christian = going loco" cuz it's more like being very childishly naive than being crazy. Ppl are desperate in their lives and seek fulfillment, sometimes in believing all kinds of fairytales.

      I'm agnostic and I think what he said is ridiculous. A person who claims to be 100% sure that is NO GOD is just as mentally insane as someone who claims they are 100% sure that there IS GOD, imo. Their music is great...but boy his disrespect is off putting...calling someone mentally insane if they are into religion. not good!

      @@awonderingoneil206 How about the destruction caused by marxism, socialism, communism, totalitarian regimes that absolutely disregarded religion, feminism, and many other ideologies and doctrines that intended to do "good" but only wreaked havoc in the world? It's very easy and comfortable to blame religion, it's a well known scapegoat. How about blaming mankind for all the evil that happened in the world? Religion is not made of robots, but of people. The root of all evil is our distance from god's love. People that bash on christianity are the ones who know nothing about it and the wonders it does on their believers lives. Also, that are way more well structured religious doctrine, such as kardecism/spiritism, that started in France XIX century, which is based on strong philosofical reasoning, scientific method and observation, and spiritualist world view. God's existence has long been proven in multiple ways, but if you dont look for it, it wont just come and present itself for you because you demand it. Nevertheless, still a strong PL fan. You dont need to abide by the artist's belief creed - or the lack of one - to enjoy their art.

      @@wodentheone-eyed1289 Your completely correct on regimes having the same effect, thankyou for elaborating my point further.
      I must say though, with mankind being evil, there is good and bad everywere we look and both sides are rightly required, afterall, life in itself is suffering down to it's fundamental, Surviving is mearly finding superficial meaning in that very same suffering.
      Thankyou again for your reply, that was interesting.

      What more do you want from him in his almost 50 years old at the time of the interview? I agree that Nick looks much better without the beard, with the beard he looks older.
