I appreciate the channels that aren't sponsored and do their thing with what they have - scrappy. It's what I do on my channel: showing viewers you don't need fancy to make quality wood on a budget - just like what you do, Jeremiah. It may take more time but it works for us. Keep cuttin' buddy!

I personally appreciate your approach to firewood. I too have a second hand splitter and a tractor with a loader bucket and do large rounds the same way. The guys with the brand new EastonMade commercial splitters and conveyors and such are fun to watch but will never be in my toolbox. Keep up the good work. I love that Ford tractor, pick out a piece of the tractor to do a weekly cleanup and paint. The hood one week, a fender the next, maybe a wheel or two the next. By the end of summer you’ll have a new looking machine.

I like to smell the stank Bur Oak emits. I use to use 3 or 4 2X4's and drive into the big rounds after I sank my wedges into it. I got them started by noodling the round about 5" deep. Once I had the chunks where I could put them on my Harbor Freight wood splitter I was good to go. I like you never had the latest greatest woodyard tools like the rich man of Cranberry Township, Pa. But We got er done! Merry Christmas Jeremiah!

Merry Christmas Jeremiah and Amanda. Keep using all the tools you can to save your back, and to make your job less brutal to your body. So do you feel the oak will be dry by fall or next years wood sales. The first round put up a good fight before giving in. The 2nd one went much easier. Hey I cut wood yesterday with the 400. I can’t believe how much you can cut in a short time. It may burn 1 1/2 times the fuel but your getting 2x the wood cut. Thanks for suggesting and encouraging the purchase. Took less than 1/2 the time for me to get my wood split this fall. My only regret would be that I didn’t get it with the auto detent. Your call. I offered because I remember fighting the oak. Believe me your body won’t put up with that for much longer. It’s just an offer to give you an idea for different splitters. Log lift and adjustable 4 way.

I don’t know if I have seen Bur oak in person up here in Maine. Looks like it would burn like all other oaks.

I started out with the exact same splitter! Struggled though those big rounds plenty of times!! Did you get started on the load of locust from last week yet?

The struggle is real!😂😂 All cut and the rounds stacked waiting to be split! Man that was a heavy load!! I told Matt I really appreciate you guys cutting a lot of them at 16” especially the big ones! Very little waste👍👍 Merry Christmas 👍🎄👍

@outdoorsinthe608 yeah it was! I climbed under a few times to see if it was on the bump stops yet or not! He used my measuring stick plenty and got one for his truck now so it definitely helps on the firewood side of things!
