Today I'm taking a look at the Sonicbar Rockstage pedal from Sonicake. With a rock amp, cabinet simulator & 3 effects - chorus, delay & reverb this is a great unit that can go infront of an amp or direct into a P.A. or interface. In this demonstration I'm running the Rockstage direct into my computer, no amps or tweaks - just the tone of the pedal.

Great Review! I like how you put it through the board so we can hear how it sounds.

I had this unit for about a year and I use it with my Acoustic so the Rock Amp has practically never been engaged, recently tho I'm feeling the call to Rock out so I've literally spent most of today looking at Muffs and Distortions but then I realised that I have an Overdrive in my Rockstage and I'm begining to think that this would be usable for most situations from Queen to Sabbath and a bit of ACDC, I think it's very versatile...

Fantastic review! Best review of this pedal on YT and Brett K set the bar high! You’re playing is top notch too! I play an ME-80 because I hate tap dancing to go from rhythm to lead, but you make me want one of these at least as a backup and who knows… maybe it’ll replace the Boss with the addition of a wah/volume. Thank you for doing the great video!

To kill noise we must turn off the knob "rock amp", once we finish playing.

The one test I'm not seeing on any of the YT demo's for this Sonicake Rockstage is whether or not the delay finishes out the repeats of the last played notes after it's been switched off, can anyone confirm this, because there are delay circuits (especially in these cheaper FX Ped's) that will just abruptly kill all delayed signal as soon as it's shut off.. Outside of that concern, this little beast is a nice 'lil game changer, especially for building an inexpensive pedalboard that's compact enough to fit into my check-on bag without hogging abuncha suitcase space when I'm flying!.. 🤑

about horrible noise on "rock amp" ?

  • @DarthEcoli

I know like twenty Chinese brands release these, but I gotta say at least from what I'm hearing in this demo that these don't sound as bad as most crap that come out of that Shenzhen factory.
I was looking into these just for the reverb, but the other effects sound pretty good and the Rock amp sounds nice and beefy, and the effects seem to play nice with each other. I mod my own cabs, so the cab sim won't be needed.
