    “Some chicken... some neck”
    Truly 1940’s comedy right there

I think the joke work today. Early 1940 France boasts that without French help the Nazis will wring England's neck "like a chicken" within three weeks. France itself falls within six weeks. Here, after a full two years of resisting the Nazis without the French (December 1941), Churchill replies: "some chicken."

“The British people may love peace, they do not seek the lands or wealth of any country”
Literally 1/4 of the world: So that was a lie

@@britishempireno1fan851 Sure, I won’t deny that it had good points, but saying they conquered 1/4 of the globe to make it a better place is a bit disingenuous

@@mstewie9718 Are you actually suggesting that Britain gave up its colonial possessions out of benevolence? In addition to that, a large part of the refugee problem was caused by the near-arbitrary border drawing, cutting entire groups of people in two to “civilize” them and grouping others who hated each other together. Hell, look at the Middle East, it used to be one of the most stable places on earth before it was split by France and Britain

The empire was build before any of them was born even churchill at that points its was just keeping the colnies happy unfortunately that didn't work out in the end.

@@yacinekadri9110 Actually, Churchill would have been 8 when Egypt was annexed, that’s not to mention all the territories taken from the Ottomans after WW1, if they didn’t want the lands or wealth of any other country, why did they not just create self rule? Britain is not unique in this, but denying it is just wrong
