    Love Saul Bellow, his mind, his books, his elegant smile :) Nearly 50 years later, everyone can see that Robbe-Grillet (who was nevertheless a brilliant writer and screenwriter and underrated director) lost the fight : characters are still important in world literature, in good or bad books (but I have to agree with Nabokov when he says that the style, the writing itself, the pure aesthetic pleasure should be in priority what the ideal reader has to appreciate in a book ;)
