    It's kinda crazy that swiss kinda limits this level of scouting since you never know who your opponents will be, unlike groups where the teams you face are the same til the end of the round

      There needs to be way more games in swiss tbh. It doesn't make any sense that teams who haven't won a game against lck/LPL can qualify

      @@manuman5319 i think they should simply change BO1s to BO3s as well in the 1st 2 rounds

    I know it's absolutely not as easy as it sounds, but I always wondered why pros whose full time jobs are basically to play this one game for hours on end-- can only play like ten champions

    • @motimizer
      @motimizer Před 6 měsíci +4

      I believe it's due to champ disparity and Influence. Many players will never learn certain champs because it doesn't fit the needs of competitive play. Riven is a great example. You have to do way more than other champs just to play at an even state. It's a poor weakside and it simple costs more to get the bare minimum done as opposed to other champs like cho gath, or jayce. And you can only be so good at a certain play style which means for weaker play styles you just play the best meta champs or easiest champs for that play style. Example Broken blade is great at carry champs but struggles on tank engage champs. So his pool for carry champs are 5+ while tanks are 2-3

    • @user-hf4dg2qh8e
      @user-hf4dg2qh8e Před 6 měsíci +3

      mostly because it's a team game. you have to think about macros and synergies and stuff. if everyone has large champion pools that would create a lot of possible combinations. it's probably better to be a master of a few team comps than the jack of all

    Yet T1 scout always overlooks gen.g's botlane. Keep giving Rakan to Delight who's the reason they lose every gen.g clash with his great Rakan ults. Also giving Peyz Xayah. T1 could have accomplished more if their pick and bans are good but now the T1 players are to blame and could be disbanded because of poor coaches decisions.

    • @sidradeave
      @sidradeave Před 6 měsíci +24

      Yeah, but i think that T1 knew they could afford losing that round.
      Gen G is like kryptonite to T1 on the past meta, so beating them would have required showing in swiss what they're pulling out of the sleeves now. Ashe supp and Senna + TK/Nilah are picks that people can target in bans (because every team knows how good T1 were on that meta) and also know how to counter but can be used to their full extent when they catch enemies unprepared. Also, winning against Gen G would have mean less games + harder enemies when coming back to stage while losing gave them the oportunity to play against other regions and thus, practice on a serious enviroment.
      Imagine a world were T1 wins against Gen G via drafting prio double marksman botlane/Senna + TK: now everyone knows to expect it + Gen G will practice more against other regions. That's like shooting yourself in your foot for pride. You lose the pocket picks advantage + the meta will have shifted opening the possibility to other teams to test counters against those picks AND you have the team with the best scoreboard against you in the tournament with more international training (i fully believe that Chovy and Peanut can't handle the international stage pressure so giving them the oportunity and time to adapt and overcome that is dangerous af).
      As a funfact, on fighting games there are a lot of good players that do this (losing early on pourpose to practice more and secure brackets with "weaker" opponents) and now that swiss is a thing in LoL eSports i expect to see this trend coming to play on future iterations of this championship.
