"When I die, just keep playing the records." Jimi Hendrix
I do.
+Alexander Pust Just keep listinin to fine music be well be fkn fine
Alexander Pust He wanted to spread love wether he was here in person or not. He delivered hope to the stiffled exploited masses. Thats why he was snuffed and tarred with the idiot brush.
Ryan Mozert That is to be admired then trying to remove negativity from the self?
@@betterthantelly2993 I must of missed it. Been aware of Mr. Hendrix since about 1968. Loved him, The Experience and Band of Gypsy's.
Never read, heard or watched anyone say a negative word about him.
Most I've ever heard were words like Genius. Best Guitar Player In History. Gone WayToo Soon.
All words of love, admiration and respect.
Anybody think different? Idiot-Fuck You.
@@davidweatherholt7263 You missed what?
I hope in the future someone is cruising in a spaceship through the valleys of Neptune blasting Valleys of Neptune by Jimi. haha
I always thought this was about climate change and the oceans rising
@@brothatisfunny I caught that too
BIGERNMcCrack that’d be badass
@@brothatisfunny no I always thought it was about Vietnam and the power of creation through music. Tnts
@@brothatisfunny I don't think anyone in 1970 was worrying about the earth warming and oceans rising. In the 70's they worried about pollution and later the "looming" ice age.
Nobody beats Jimi. Greatest guitar player ever.
Its unbelievable how much he wrote in his short music career. Imagine if he was still alive. He would've broken modern pop in a trillion peices.
You just never know. Either that or he went out on top. Glad for what we've got though.
That's true..
So..let's rock!

Alien life forms will be playing Jimi’s music!!
Funny, he didn't think he was that good of a guitarist when he was alive.
Myself as a guitarist i've reached the conclusion that Hendrix is the example of unit between soul and music expressed by guitar. He is just perfect.
Yeah, he was a master, but like all of the amazing sounds he made could be done easily without any special tools made SPECIFICALLY for guitars. he had different strings on his guitar, from light electric strings to heavy acoustic strings, and I know that on All along the watchtower, he forgot his slider, so he pulled out a zipo lighter and used that, and you can kinda hear it too!
I agree, totally.
and with a wall of marshalls was a kiloton BLAST:::::::::::::::
Amen to that.
Listening to this music your are in a matter of seconds in another realms.
gag me with a spoon dude that's one lame tribute
This man was just unreal..... Unreal!
+Cheech Chong Yeah but man, he feels the most real of anyone. You know what I mean?
Some people were put here on earth to do one thing and then they are gone. Play on play on.....Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix... the GIFT that keeps on giving ❤🎸💯
Only Jimi could make a song this good without even playing a solo, respect.
Solos dont make a song good or not bud
Technically we can't say a difference between solo and rhythm in Jimi's songs. He just keep playing solo and singing all the time.
@@paijo_themoron .... Incredible!!!
A few of his songs had no solo.
Dear CZcams,
Please don't take this one down like you have so many others.
+Jeannie E. Hess it's uploaded by the Jimi Hendrix VEVO channel so i highly doubt it. this one's safe
+Jeannie E. Hess plus youtube doesn't take them down unless it's requested by the owner of the copyright, in this case the family of Jimi, who owns his catalogue. That's why you can't find anything, they are on top of it to make sure they get every dime. Can't really blame them. That's why copyright law exists.
Right on the Target. To many. Have Made That family suffer.
+Bruce Ball
Made them suffer? They're greedy millionaires who still haven't made a proper grave for Jimi's mother, disowned his brother, won't give him a penny of his share, and scratch every penny out of the dwindling supply of Jimi's music, often in demeaning ways. In addition, they have filed a legal document requiring anyone who covers it to pay a royalty regardless of purpose. Jimi wouldn't have wanted it that way.
+Peter Choe
I read about how Jimi's Estate is being controlled by Janice but apparently Family don't actually mean Family!! Really sux after Santana and so many others helped the family to have more control! Jimi would take it all and throw it in the deep blue sea or give it to the poorest, yet sincere, Church!! Music creates a lot of Greed that brings some bad Karma!!!
500 years ahead of its time.
If not more than that.
Best guitarist of all time.
Such a beautiful track! Happy 80th, Jimi! Your star still burns brightly! R.I.P
It is almost magical really. I mean, you can listen to many good songs out there. But when you revisit Hendrix is like listening to something that is not quite of this world. It transports you, it inspires you, it is music communicating in the deepest levels of conscience. It's just incredible! This guy is a genius of the same magnitude of Bach or Mozart.
R.I.P. Hendrix, thank you for the music you left here with us.
how about ya?
What a mind trip...
Jimi was before my time in music, but what a freaking brilliant musician.
Before your time and nobody else's?
Just love Jimi's voice! His guitar and his voice just seemed to be one. That's what was so unique about him (one of many I should add).
+univibe23 He hated his own voice and often sang behind a curtain in the studio to hide from producers. He thought everyone was glaring at him, because of his voice.
+univibe23 Yes the guitar became a part of him and ceased to be a separate instrument in the mix so to speak!
To think he didnt like his voice,he just wanted to play!
Yeah!
Lord, I feel the ocean swaying me
Washing away all my pain
See where I used to be wounded
Remember the scars, now you can't see a thing
And I don't feel no pain oh no
Hey!
Singing about the Valley of Sunrise
Green and blue canyons too
I'm singing about Atlantis love songs
Valleys of Neptune is rising, rising, rising
Mercury liquid and emeralds shining
They're showing me where I came from baby
Honey sun turquoise bed he lays on
On the burning edge horizon
I'm sailing on a bluebird's mission
Bubble and curls and tiptoes in the foam
See the wind make love to all the ocean
And the waves spread the message got home
And the message got home
Hey yeah!
I'm singing about Atlantis love songs
Egypt moon trips flying flying
Playing about the valleys of autumn
Valleys of Neptune is rising rising
Valleys of Neptune is rising rising
Valleys of Neptune
guitar - rock on baby rock, oo oo oo, ri-i-ise, rise baby now
Lookout East coast, you're going to have a neighbor
Rebirth land home of the praying sands
We know there were three continents so much older
And they shall rise and tell us much more the truth of man
I see visions of sleeping peaks erupting
Releasing all hell that will shake the Earth from end to end
And this ain't good news, bad news, or any news
It's just the truth
Better save your souls while you can

sounds like the 60's to me.
Jimi Hendrix was an angel who's foot slipped down from the clouds to Earth for a split second before regaining his step as he walked through the jungles of heaven.
He died before I was even born, but I’ve loved him my whole life.
Beautiful comment 👶🏼✌🏼
best guitar player ever...
Native Indian At Heart I know. We got this man called Jimi Hendrix, and then he got taken away. It sucks man.
My favorite.... But,the best ever???? Has time ended.
Thanks to CZcams... Seeing these kid's playing gives me hope.... Mr Hendrix is just a guitarist that imo....not only made Heavy metal...but rock and roll. 🔊🎸
@@jamessullivan9574 but everyone copies jimi, and all the greats that came after him, give credit and honor to him. So even the great credit him as the greatest.
There is no greatest... there a degrees of greatness depending on one's definition of greatness. This isn't rocket science.
It's personal tastes in the end.
With this song, Jimi just proved that he doesn't need to put a solo like Voodoo Chile to write a great song. The rhythm/lead playing is flawless.
Stunning actually....
That music video really became a Masterpiece on who ever created all those cool unique special effects. A lot of creativity and hard work went into what you made and I appreciate you sharing your gift with me and the world.
I've been Jimi Hendrix's #1 fan for a long time. I first heard his music when I was 11 and every song I've heard from him since has blown me away. Jimi Hendrix is the greatest musician of all time.
***** yall are like the choppy waters that would make even captain Ahab nauseous. . you'd think " the number one hendrix fan" would be too busy enjoying listening to this to comment snd try to argue that they're a bigger fan than someone else.. how bout you get off the internet, pop in an axis bold as love cassette and listen to one rainy wish, little wing or something.
***** yeah. my dad passed it down to me. the axis bold as love cassette. its like--40 years old. i'm 22. I listened to it for a year straight everday while I was laid up in bed after a surgery. I wouldn't sell it for a million dollars.
***** thats awesome dude. my dad actually forgot he gave me the tape. lol. not as cool as you sound. please let your son borrow ur music!! haha its worthless if it just sits locked up. my dad has a ton of old vinyls/tapes/cds locked up (beatles, zeppelin, jimi, bob dylan,so many more great albums) and he won't take em out an play em cause he doesn't wanna damage em. which is retarded. so im gonna have to wait 20 maybe 30 years til I get those. lol.
R. N. Alexander-Duchesne He's definitely up there, that's for damn sure.
***** We can arrange for anyone who makes such a claim to ask him personally...
My fav guitarist and drummer Rest in peace and rock and roll guys 🤘
Is this Mitch on drums?
@@graemeyetts3465 yep
This is spiritual
Old school. Hendrix forever
I'm convinced he was a time traveler. A gift from the future.
This composition is a perfect example of my favorite aspects of what made Hendrix, a special talent. His tone is beautiful, warm and draws you in. We all know what he could do with his right hand on the neck, as a lefty, but his right hand creating rhythm is what gave his playing a dynamic quality, that makes his music dimensional. His stroke creates a bounce. All these years later, he remains unique, relevant, and foundational.
Sorry, ( Left hand creating rhythm) . See, it is harder than it looks!
This song is my go to when I'm feeling down, it's a masterpiece. Wish there was some musician today that are as good as he was and produced his type of music but then I would be wishing for the impossible. long live jimi!!
Yes my sentiments exactly, beautiful number and I love this accompanying clip. Don't know why this wasn't included on the First Rays of the New Rising Sun album but better late then never.
This is Hendrix best work. The
intro, lyrics and phrasing are sublime
Jimi washes away all my pain.
Hendrix had such class. I love this song :) He was a true guitar god
Yeah, I heard the stories that Janus told about both Jimi and Jim Morrison. Jimi had class. Whereas, Jim Morrison was a philandering sleazeball and male chauvinistic pig.
Every Jimi Hendrix song sounds awesome when your medicated!
Oh yes😉😉👍👍
It’s a great song.
Was at the Count Basie Theater, Red Bank, NJ, 1998 (I think) waiting for the latest version of The Hendrix Experience to start, and they were playing this song on the sound system. Later, the announcer explained the origin of the song, and that newly found studio tape recording had been found and a new album was to be released. Loved this song from that day on.
Jesus man, Hendrix was a genius
Jimi is so good. Mitch Mitchell kills the drums in this one too. I suppose he does that in every song!.......
Outstanding!
So many years I wondered if Jimi would return in my lifetime, come to find out he never left.
Always enjoyed Jimi's music his lyrics his imagination always will till the day they put me in a nursing home btw you think maybe they'll be playing Hendrix there ?? Lol
It's sad that not as many people appreciate blues these days.
I agree. Hard to find good modern 'true to form' blues. I'm so glad for CZcams! I still love Jimi, but I've dug even deeper. Blind Willie McTell is truly amazing. So are Son House, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, Skip James, Mance Lipscomb, RL Burnside, Lonnie Johnson, Garfield Akers, Blind Willie Johnson, Little Hat Jones, and of course, Robert Johnson.
likes blink 182 :/

blink 182 FTW!!
We dont call This blues we call this religion Jimi is the real god :)
livingthroughtheblue Gary Clark Jr. is a pretty cool contemporary blues artist.
this is not blues, it is psychedelic acid rock and roll created, and originated by the man himself, Mr. Jimi Hendrix.
+arron haggerty wtf
+arron haggerty He did play blues sometimes, but I agree with psychedelic for this one.
+arron haggerty he fucking played blues his whole damn life he took blues fucking cords like purple haze and fucked around with them dumb ass HAHAHHAHA its not your fault you just dont know about at all clearly
+arron haggerty **about him at all clearly**

i felt my face fall off and melt into the floor watching this video
Jimi is a god-tier vocalist imo.
What's amazing is how many songs he was able to produce during his short life; surely he's still serenading a heavenly host.
I tripped balls to this and dear god it is awesome everytime even when I'm sober. thank you VEVO

I started playing in 1967 because this man inspired me.To this day i here everything in it.The absolute best of it all.
An unexpected hidden treasure from the Hendrix studio archives, for an old school student of Jimi's guitar work.
I enjoy the way the bass compliments his playing as well. I think that's what makes it powerful. The perfect combo.
This guy is transcended the magic of guitar playing. Jimi is the notes we will never find in the guitar. THE GOAT!
Unreal Jimi. Farout sound totally dipped in psychedelia !!!💞💞💞💞💞🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😎😎☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
He is immortal! He played his guitar from past straight into eternity! His voice, his lyrics, his solos, his talent and all he was, lies today among the greatest musicians of this planet!
He was worth MORE than what he was earning! Nowadays they give a million dollars to complete garbage and talentless artists SMH
You can't measure jimi's music by money. He is beyond the human greed.
That doesnt matter. Money doesnt bring happiness. There music will be forgotten soon. This music is for eternal

Penso em Hendrix como uma luz espiritual que passou pelo nosso planeta e deixou seu legado. Não era só um super músico
whilst running through the scourching heat of Death Valley... this tune has reverberated loud and clear... thank you Jimi.
It really bothers me that Hendrix wasn’t allowed to mature as an artist, humanity was robbed of what was guaranteed to be inspirational art from him. It’s not fair man, truly visionary men and woman die before they can make their biggest impact
Feel that way about randy Rhodes honestly
It was The Greed of Money from his Evil Mngr Mike Jeffery is why Jimi Hendrix is dead he had him killed because Jimi wanted out of his Contract with him
*are killed
happy birthday JIMI!
Man Jimi does not skip a beat in this song, he's always doin' something here!
Incredible clips and artwork just perfect, I love this song the words are just are just incredibly beautiful, poetic and immersive
The perfect combination of talent coinciding with peace!
I've got so much love for jimi's music 🙏
I wish he would have played this as he intended to at Woodstock…….however, if you can’t remember the words there’s not much point!! A true genius and the biggest, most staggering musical loss of them all. It still gets me to this day.
I love his spontaneity
And also his voice, even above his playing
What makes Jimi Hendrix unique is that he defined what it means to be a musical artist.
