The platter is in the upstairs of the "Hall of Countenance" opposite of the "Hall of Attainment."
i got caught doing this somehow and now theres a bouty on my ass lol
If you go up the stairs 1 flight and go through the wall directly above where you are in this video it gives you more time. If you drop a do not delete it works easier. Also, if you go through the wall in the room to the left of the entrance or in the room above that room there's another chest

@@TOxDAxDOME lol, no problem. I made this comment while I was in a huge skyrim phase so I was trying to learn as much as I could about it. If you break the limits of Stat boosts using the alchemy/enchanting loop and have WAY to much stuff in your home storages then any items you drop or put on shelves/walls have the potential to disappear as well. Might be useful to know

Yeah all that does is shoot you throught the wall and so far out that you can't get anything so this is a stupid thing to do
2019 comment, but people still play this beautiful game. There's a much, much easier way. The singular chest in the background is actually pretty easy to get. Go to the room with the drums on the right side of the bed, kick them aside and walk through the wall using a platter, just do a 360 turn and it's right there. With the two chests he showed you, go two rooms right of the haystack, you'll see a wall with a hide hanged up. What you want to do is put a platter on the left side of that rooms entrance and the two chests are much closer and much more easier to access.

You can also put a bucket right above the chest and go through the floor to get to it

If you want to get through the wall better, place the plate higher up, looking up a bit, and run through.

Mm this is not working.
Edit: It seems like the trick is to NOT run, since when you run it rarely puts you through the wall and doesnt seem to get you any closer to the chests anyway than if you walked.
Honestly though its so difficult to do this that it doesnt even matter whats in that chest, its just not worth the waste of time. Also not worth the waste of the multiple controllers i threw into the wall repeatedly and broke.
Final edit: After a couple hours i managed to figure out the best way to do it. See where he does it in the video? Not there. Right above where hes doing it, up the stairs. Make sure your looking a bit up when you phase through too, a tiny bit more of a window to open the chest.
While the loot in there isnt the best, the robes are certainly worth grabbing if you plan on having the "Extra Effect" perk..

There's a much easier way. Theres 7 chests in total I believe. Plus 2 chests in the main hall in the college containing some super rare books

Beginner tips: if your on pc & want to get to a merchant chest or you get glitched into a spot where you’re stuck just press command & type TLC it will turn off collision & you can walk through anything. If you take everything from a merchants chest just quick save & kill the merchant, then reload it & talk to them again & barter with them & they will restock their inventory & gold.

there is about 4 other chests were the illustions mage is take a plater run threw the wall on top of the stares and youll see them. try to get to them
Second door of the main chamber in the college where u meet the high elf. Is a chest that contains the sigil stone for making deadric weapons at the forge under the college. Its a bitch to get to u need a do not delete chest.
with free cam i can see a chest under the archmage bedroom (i havent try to catch it yet) but try take a look ^^ i'm curious
(i never tried to grab a no-legit chest like that)

This published in 2012... wow... Sorry I came late, I'm in the future (2019). It would save you some trouble with the command tcl to become a "ghost" a fly through everything.

lol nevermind i did it myself! hard as f*ck but after my 34th attempt to figure it out i got it. If you go to the room the chest is under and go to the right entrance wall, using a wooden plate like always, gets you into the wall. You have to allow yourself to slide down the wall a little bit, move fwd while looking towards the chest and a little upward plus tapping 'A'(xbox) or 'X'(PS) rappidly. Took me a little while but got it. And it basically has the same stuff in it as the other chests in this place.

yea but its way easier with a platter. i just went to the blue palace, thats the easiest place to find the platter

If u get the collectors edition u get a map that shows u ALL of the tresure chests!!
If u use the wooden bucket by the door it is way easier then a plate
theres one at the blue palace so i just take that. it does count as stealing there though which is weird theres also a merchant chest at the blue palace too

That's enthirs black market chest after the thieves guild quests probably, only menu in the college I know of with daedric hearts and he only ever had 2x

find another wall thats closer to the boxes thats what I did i went threw the room next to were that stairs are and I got both boxes just find other ways to get in there
Apparently taking from the do not delete chest, I ended up somehow assaulting a member of the thieves guild 😂
i been able to do it a couple times here an d there but i cant do it consistenly nor have i been qble to reach either chest
