    What we have here is a company who is trying to produce quality tools. They have to fight against the bad repetition that has been labeled on anything coming out of China and it must be difficult to do so. I have always judged a company on its own merits and not because the world says everything from China is bad. Sure there are a lot of products I would not buy from that country for safety reasons, but to say everything made by a Chinese Company is bad would be unfair to those who are sincerely trying to create something of high quality. I think GoingMake has proven that with these woodworking tools.

      Most all products sold in the US have parts from China in them. China's government doesn't regulate like ours. They can produce cheap, unsafe items if they want. If a company like Apple has a product produced in China, the company requires them to produce a quality product. Katz Moses has some of his tools manufactured by Hongdui. They produce some of the highest quality tools I have seen. I respect any company whose goal is quality rather than trying to see how cheap they can make it.

    I'm VERY impressed with GOINGMAKEs tools. The fit and finish is superb at the price points they are sold for. I personally think they are going to give Veritas some completion. The finish on the tools is better than Veritas and holds up to the daily grind of a busy shop. My guys love the squares and hold downs. I'm very impressed with the entire sharpening system. Each component is made very well and I believe will be in the hands of my grandchildren.

    I’ve been pretty happy so far with Going Make. I have the T-Square rulers and shelf pin hole tool. I’m looking to get more. The packaging sure is solid as well as the instructions to match the tool quality. I look forward to trying more tools.

      Great to hear! Some people think I am saying these tools are good because they sent them to me. I have been sent a bandsaw that was crap. I would not do a video on. I think these are great tools. It makes me want to find more high-quality tools that don't cost an arm and leeg.

    I just started buying their stuff (Carpenter square and shelf pin jig) and...I am impressed! I think I will be getting the whole line of products, given the quality and price. I haven't got one yet but if they would make they T-squares with imperial on one side and metric on the other...?

    Are the lines and numbers lasered on or painted?

    • @ShopRamblings
      @ShopRamblings  Před 5 měsíci

      After closer inspection, the numbers look white but are actually where the black coating is lasered off, exposing the aluminum.

    I'd like to see a quick latch, maybe lever action instead of the screw knob to hold down the material. it would probably be held down with less force but some clamping actions don't need that much.

    • @ShopRamblings
      @ShopRamblings  Před 6 měsíci

      I have 2 pair that have the lever. A short pair and a long pair. They work good but you don't have any control over how tight they clamp. These can be long or short so you can buy half as many and with them being on sale they cost less. I will pass on your comment. I am not sure if they are planning on making any with a clamp. They said they designing many more tools.

    The ruler / squares are junk. Have ordered four from Amazon all four have a bow in them. They do not lay flat. They are square, but do not lay flat

    • @ShopRamblings
      @ShopRamblings  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Were they the GoingMake Brand? There are several that look similar. The ones I got were all packed in foam. That is something that has impressed me. Every tool I got have custom foam packing to ensure they didn't get damaged in shipping. How did the boxes look?

    • @AAguilar74
      @AAguilar74 Před 6 měsíci

      Yes Goingmake, They were packaged great. I also have the shelf pin jig. The hinge jig . The benchdog clamps. The table saw thin rip jig. Those all where great. Issues were only with the rulers did not lay flat.

    • @AAguilar74
      @AAguilar74 Před 6 měsíci

      Boxes where great. I tried to bend them straight and they were tough. So it has to be a manufacturer issue. Are yours completely flat? Even the replacements were bent. I can understand one. But 4 out of 4. Is not good.

    • @ShopRamblings
      @ShopRamblings  Před 6 měsíci

      Goingmake emailed me and asked if I had any issues with the squares. As you can see in the video, mine were all perfect. It is strange that you had the same problem with different items. Good thing you get free returns.

      @crossgrainwoodproductsltd9230 Před 5 měsíci

      Seriously dude, the Font? Yea I may think that, which I don't, but I wouldn't actually complain about it. Does the Font interfere with the performance of the tool? NO. Does the Font interfere with ANYTHING to do with how the tool works? NO.
      Stop being so petty. Man there are some real issues going on in the world and you complain about that. You must be impossible to live with. I sincerely hope you can stop seeing the world in such a negative way. Life is way to short to be worrying about the small stuff. God Bless.

      @ShopRamblings  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @Fusion_Woodworking if you don't like the font, then that is a fact, not a complaint. It is not like you said that is a bad font. I make comments all the time that people think I am complaining. I am just stating what I am seeing.
      As always, thanks for the feedback.
