Autism definitely does not impede depression. I still contemplate all of the things in the world and am autistic. People with autism often find specific things to hyper focus on (usually referred to as a “special interest”), but always being “lasered in” is not a typical symptom or effect of being autistic. Research actually suggests that people with autism are more likely to experience depression than non-autistic people, 4 times as likely, to be specific 🙃

I appreciate how much of a struggle that must be for you. I also appreciate what Josh said about not trying to be all the things, if I connect it to that at least. Fantastic episode once again.
