I don’t think Mr.Drysdale or Mis Hathaway were ever given the recognition that they richly deserved ! ! ! !

Yeah, the casting on the show was brilliant. My faves were Jethro and Granny. Granny was the star of that show.

I grew up in the south and of course anytime you went north while the BH was
on the air you would be teased but I would always point out to them (even though I was just a kid) how despicable the northerners were on the show and that at least the "Hillbillies" were not "rude or mean" that always shut them up! LOL. I've always wondered why more people didn't seem to pick up on the fact that really it's the "city slickers" that are really portrayed as the morons on the show, at least IMHO

It was good that Buddy had a little character control. Jed's wisodm far outshone his ignorance even in year 1.

God bless Paul Henning. RIP A man who knew how to make us laugh. He mentions Dwayne Hickman's mother? I know who Dwayne Hickman is but I don't understand what he is he talking about. Ruth recommended something? "so it all came together" I don't understand what he was talking about at marker 4:34 he saids "I remember Nancy Kulp from the Bob Cummings show" then shortly after, things begin to get confusing and he mentions Dwayne Hickman's mother. He then closes by saying "so it all came together" Poor guy. I think he was suffering from some kind of dementia due to his old age. Perhaps Alzheimer's. Sad. 😞

buzz bang I think you're more confused than Mr. Henning. Nancy Kulp played Pamela Livingstone on "The Bob Cummings Show." Rosemary Decamp played the role of Bob Cummings' sister. Her son was indeed played by Dwyane Hickman. What is so tough about that? Seems his memory is just fine.

I was asking for help, Yes well I never watch The Bob Cummings Show, and he kinda mixed the two shows together while he was explaining them and I was trying to figure out who Rosemary Decamp was because I never knew who she was. So you're right, I was confused. With that being said, I'm relieved to see he doesn't have dementia. Sorry about that Paul. And thanks D K for the info.

@abemagic10: Yes, Dennis Day was an Irish tenor who was popular back in the 1950s.

elaine smith - another 1950s Irish tenor was this guy from Philadelphia named Mike Douglas, who gave up his singing career after this guy from Memphis, Elvis Presley came along.
