Throw back! I used to own both Givenchy's. I always felt the insense smelled soapy. If I recall correctly, the juice had a bluish tint to it. Good stuff...both were. Unfortunately, I.believe their time has passed because I can't imagine an event to wear them again. I always believe a revisit never hurts and my mind may be changed. Thank you for this video, sir.
It's so true that fragrances can take you back to previous times. That damn Givenchy bottle in the thumbnail as well as the smell of that particular fragrance take me back to the worst job I ever had back in 96. Just the sight of that bottle reminded me of getting to work at 6.00 am with at least three trucks packed to the roof with merchandise waiting for me to unload and stock all for the wonderful salary of $6.00 per hour. Colonia Assoluta is lovely. Without it, there wouldn't have been the rest of the flankers that followed. Sad that it's been discontinued. A great collaboration between Duchafour and Ellena.
I rather enjoyed this. Awesome opening! I like that you review some obscure, not much heard about fragrances. It makes me want to check these 4 out and give them a chance. 😊
I like Claire’s comment re Creed Royal Mayfair “creosote etc.” - I realise I’ve got a long long way to go with my sense of smell. I haven’t tried it yet and only just getting back into my fragrances. I do want something interesting (not necessarily expensive tho).

Great,great video...I kind of deslike the original colonia from AdP....cause it is too classic and a bit old-school...i do like essenza though...would it be safe to blindbuy assoluta if I like essenza?, does it smell better than essenza?...is it generic or too mass oriented/simple?, thanks

I love Royal Mayfair! I don't wear it that much though, because it kind of smells like I've been smoking which I hate as i'm not a smoker.
I really like Mayfair as well. Insense too for that matter.

I've always thought that scents degraded over time, so the contents of older (non-spray) bottles would have 'gone off' within a year or so of opening.
