I'm trying to make it work acceptable, no need to make someone struggle when I have five bedrooms, two of which aren't being used. We love having him around and he's saving money so that he can buy a house of his own in a couple of years. He can stay for free as long as he wants, it gives more time to study and focus on what he wants to do in life rather than being put into a situation where he may put himself into unnecessary debt and have his grades suffer while he works too much going to school so that he can pay bills. I'm going to end this by saying that a lot of people do it and do it well, I just don't think struggling through school is necessary in order to be successful in life.

In one episode, a cop was accused of being racist to his black partner because he didn't see him being attacked and later killed (I think, it's been years) while he ran past chasing a suspect on the scene. I think the cop was cleared. Some weeks later, I was at a laundromat and I wanted to cross the street to go to a store. I checked both ways at least twice. I saw a red Jeep at the top of the hill on one pass. To see how close it was, I checked again and I didn't see it. There was nothing obscuring my vision and I guess I should add I know the area very well, it was maybe 1pm, and it was sunny. I started to cross the street and saw the same red Jeep pass directly in front of me. It freaked me out. I didn't hear nor see the red Jeep that never changed course. I was set to be around that laundromat until I was done that day, I wasn't stressed out, my clothes were in the machines, and I was fine. I remembered the episode of Perception after that. I'll never forget it.

When the first Xbox came out, my dad and me took a road trip to see family. Went went to one of his hs buddy's house. While we were there me and his kids got to play on one, I'd never even seen one until then. We had a great time and finally went home. My friends parents did the same sort of thing. They asked him to clean the dining room table and completely ignored the brand new xbox just chilling there. He even f*cking picked it up and moved it off the table to clean the table. He was later told that evening about the new console, followed by shear joy and then disappointment because he didn’t notice it sooner.

They weren't expecting to see it or they were focused on something else. This is how human beings are. Too much stimuli vying for your attention. You're going to tune some things out.
Edit: There was a show called Perception. In one episode, a cop was accused of being racist to his black partner because he didn't see him being attacked and later killed (I think, it's been years) while he ran past chasing a suspect on the scene. I think the cop was cleared.
Some weeks later, I was at a laundromat and I wanted to cross the street to go to a store. I checked both ways at least twice. I saw a red Jeep at the top of the hill on one pass. To see how close it was, I checked again and I didn't see it. There was nothing obscuring my vision and I guess I should add I know the area very well, it was maybe 1pm, and it was sunny.
I started to cross the street and saw the same red Jeep pass directly in front of me. It freaked me out. I didn't hear nor see the red Jeep that never changed course. I was set to be around that laundromat until I was done that day, I wasn't stressed out, my clothes were in the machines, and I was fine. I remembered the episode of Perception after that. I'll never forget it.

@@Xeranx It is indeed very interesting how the brain can sort of “block” information from being processed. That’s why driving while being sleepy is very dangerous, because your brain ,first off, loses a lot of higher order thinking capabilities and second off, might block certain bits of information like a road sign speed limit which might end you up in a bad situation.

When the first Xbox came out, my dad and me took a road trip to see family. Went went to one of his hs buddy's house. While we were there me and his kids got to play on one, I'd never even seen one until then. We had a great time and finally went home. It turned out the Xbox I thought was theirs was actually my Xmas present. I've always got a chuckle out of that memory.
