The funeral ⚱️ of Albert Steptoe tight fisted brother George was a brilliant episode the funniest🤣 bit was when Rita Webb character Ada came in and show her knickers off to the family.😱 members.
+Steptoe and Son was adapted for radio (without audience) in South Africa in 1970s/80s and was very popular. The local title was Snetherswaite and Son and starred Tommy Read and Brian Squires. Only one episode survives - our version of this one. In it, I play Uncle Arthur, Uncle Nobby and the young window cleaner. The episode is available for listening on the Springbok Radio website.
For me this is the best ever episode. Although the two leads were brilliant and carried many episodes on their own, the addition of so much top notch acting talent lifted the comedy to new heights.
@pocketjohnson A big shout out to George A. Cooper who played Uncle Arthur. I think one of the reasons this episode has withstood the test of time (like most of Steptoe and Son to be fair) is the behaviour of the family is such an accurate depiction of reality. Who would have thought that a sitcome episode about a funeral would be so funny?
Yeah can’t be good I’ll comedy miss watching it on TV thank goodness for CZcams get to watch all the old lot are used to watch this with my mum I love it and I’m glad that this gets put on here just bring back some of the old days
The other woman with the red hair is Rita Webb, the old crone who used to trade insults with Benny Hill on his show. I don't know his name, but the one who played uncle Knobby was in a lot of programs. I remember him as a regular in Love Thy Neighbour and in character roles in many other shows and films.
Wasn’t Mollie Sugden the mother of the bride in the original run whose daughter leaves Harold at the aisle? Additionally, we learn in the finale that Albert was a bas… child of love. His mother was in service. How many children did she have by the time Albert was born? She bought the house as well. Albert has older siblings in this but surely Mrs Steptoe couldn’t have been in service and bought up so many kids?
She didn't speak like that in 'real life.' As a child I can remember thinking how 'posh' she was on a visit to London's East End. She arrived wearing a fur coat as a celebrity quest to open our fete and was actually rather la de da and not at all like the common old bags she always played on the Tele.
Yep, I think most BBC dvd's have some cuts in them. I have the Complete Reginald Perrin set and they are cut, as are The Complete Only Fools and Horses. I don't know why thay have to do that, it's a pain!
that is the funnyest setoff I've ever seen sold and gave the lot to the RSPCA that is fucking funny god if that happened to one of your family and they did that you'll be well pissed wouldn't you and the hard part is there's nowt in hell you can do about it eather is there really because at the end of the day it's 100percent legal you can do what you like with your money etc when you go ha ha ha but at the same time you'd have to see the funny side like harold said ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
My uncle Michael introduced me to Steptoe and Son around 1975. I'm still watching them! Thanks Uncle Michael, RIP 😅😢
Rita...a legend x
One of the best episode's.....their like's will never be seen again.

@@geoffpoole483 George Cooper appeared in loads of tv sitcoms and other more serious tv throughout the 60s and 70s.
2:46 Rita Webb. Classic. One of the funniest scenes in Steptoe ever. "They don't come off as often as yours!"
Love her character. (also had a small part in 'The Bargee').

Harold's so called cousin was a bit of a sort in the day.😍
I still love Queenie Watts' comment just before they set off
"For Gawd's sake, don't let him near the 'ole!"

Uncle Nobby is played by Tommy Godfrey.
I pity anyone who doesn't find this as funny as we do.

We must be free to marry our cousins.
Especially if they look like Yvonne Antrobus
My cousin looks like Samantha Fox 😉
@@SamuelBlack84 We must be free to marry Samuel's cousins!
One of many chapters who did not exist in the swedish version Albert & Herbert. One other is the chapter The seven Steptoeral and Back in Fashion.
Ok, which car carried the coffin? All the cars looked like family cars - which on was the hearse?
Eh mighty steptoeses😂😂😂
Tks god fur 😊😊😊utube
That was not a big coffin.
@jmr1954x
Absolutely correct. I used to know his name but haven't watched anything he was in for a few years so it slipped my mind.
@baugergroup It's Rita Webb.
Gratefull for the uploads but why are they all cut?..is it copyright
I know I'm 6 years late but it might be because it takes less time to upload.
@vanillaorchid I agree
❤️❤️👏👏👏👏😂😂😂✌️✌️✌️
Pretty 0:24.
@MrScoop77 10 actors? Slight exaggeration.
