So I just got a 98 Durango. I used the key to unlock it and the horn just starts going off….wtf? Why…I undid the negative cable to stop it but when I go to put it back on it just blares.
It sounds like there’s a security issue within the system. If the key has been replaced that may cause it. It could also need to be re programmed to the security module that’s in it. I know there is a way to bypass it completely just been a while since I had to do that. Hope this helps!!
Depending on the vehicle and the year some vehicles have the added feature where if the vehicle is equipped with the heads up unit on the top it usually has settings in there for that feature. I unfortunately was stuck doing what I did because the previous owner I got the vehicle from never wired the remote stater system in correctly so I had more wiring issues then I wanted. Hope this helps!
That would annoy me, The 15mph auto lock. But the door handle inside auto unlocks when pulled. If it didnt do that, I would have busted something up by now.
why am I being locked in? I have a seat belt. I have window post handles they designed. our passenger side has to have someone else let you out, from the outside!

most aftermarket alarms and remote starts there should be an option that you can disable that
You know by turning the key on off on off on off then on and unlock the doors that it will turn that function off right?
that worked for me for awhile but now it takes more times and its starting to occasionally work or not.

take door panells off cut the auto lock wires ,end of problem no more lockouts
