- What would Mario Kart 8 Deluxe look like if it had achievements? Unlike most games, Mario Kart doesn't have any real achievements, other than the few unlockable gold items. Mario Kart is such a varied game, Nintendo could create so many great achievements for players to complete!
So I took matters into my own hands and created 21 unique in-game achievements for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and, in this video, I try to complete as many as possible.

What achievement would you like added??
Don't use any items and win!
Win a game without using a single item/win a game without hitting anyone with any items
Place top 4 without drifting.
Successfully bump a player off of the map
Use every character and win with all of them
Shy Guys Never Finish Last: Finish in the Top 3 with every color of Shy Guy.
Practice Makes Perfect: Win a race on a track that you have defeated a Nintendo Staff Ghost on in Time Trial Mode.
You've Done Your Homework!: Race on every track at least 5 times.
Down, But Not Out: Finish in the Top 3 in a race after falling off the track.
They Grow Up So Fast: Win 5 races using a Baby character(s).
Forge Your Own Path: Win a race after driving through Offroad for at least 5 seconds total.
I'm Seeing Double?!: Finish a race in a better position than a player who is using the same character you are.
I'M UNSTOPPABLE!!!: Win a race while you are invincible. (Can be done using a Star, Boo, or Bullet Bill, or during your Invincibility Frames after getting hit by an Item.)

Just my mind thinking what I'd name a mission.
Window Wipers: Clear a blooper splat within 1 second of getting your screen covered
King of the Ring: Get 1st place on every battle stage in every battle mode
I'll Save You!: Save all of the other outlaws at the same time in Renegade Roundup
World's Greatest Catcher: Catch all of the outlaws alone in Renegade Roundup
Master of Balloons: Never run out of balloons, and have more than 5 balloons when the match ends
Consistency is King: Stay in the same place for all laps
Controlled Chaos: Never get hit on Baby Park
Split-Second Sage: Dodge a blue shell with a mushroom
Broke but Happy: Win a race without collecting a coin (on the track, i guess, since you can't stop getting them from boxes)
Some achievements ideas:
"Woomy zoomy!": finish 10 races as a inkling girl or inkling boy
"First win!": exactly what it says on the tin
"That's unfortunate": finish last place when you where in the top 3 in the 3rd lap
This is such a good idea, why haven’t Nintendo added these already??
PlayStation and Xbox did it. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't jumped on the achievement train yet.

Theres actually a reason they don’t. Basically, they don’t want to motivate players to play the game over tasks that aren’t the focus of the game, which often becomes frustrating and leads to players quitting. Games like don’t starve once had achievements during development but removed them after realizing it changed how the player played the game, for the worse.

Ultra Deluxe: Find every shortcut on every map that has it.
Understandable. Have a Great Day: Pick up a coin while already having 10 coins.
Crazy 16: Get lucky enough to have 2 Crazy Eights in both item slots.
Never Miss a Beat: Finish the first two Laps of Tour Ninja Hideaway while jumping / tricking on every "HEY".
I think its impossible to have a double crazy 8 (unless there's some REAL LAG)

@@willstewart3391 So does it appear in the roulette anymore? Since chances are if it appears in the roulette, it should also appear when you get a double item box.

More achievement ideas:
Cup Collector: Get gold on all cups in 150cc + Mirror Mode (unlocks Gold Standard)
Speed Machine: Win against all Nintendo Staff Ghosts in Time Trials (unlocks Gold Wheels)
Rags to Riches: Collect 5000 coins (unlocks Gold Glider)
Reflex Master: Get gold in all cups in 200cc (unlocks Gold Mario)
Comeback Kid: Complete a race in top 3 after finishing the previous race in 7th or lower
OUTTA MY WAY, RUNT!: Bump another kart during a mushroom/Bullet Bill as Bowser
The Racing Undead: Win 100 races as Dry Bones or Dry Bowser
Girls Can Race, Too: Win 100 races as Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, Cat Peach, Toadette, Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, Pink Gold Peach, Wendy, or Inkling Girl
Sky High Seeker: Glide a total of 100 miles as Lakitu
Godlike: Win 10 online races consecutively
Explosive: Hit yourself and 3 other racers with your own Bob-omb
So Humble: Complete a race in the top 3 without tricking ONCE
Trickshot: Hit another racer with a Green Shell that bounced off a barrier at least 3 times before

Power Flower: Hit five people with a single Fire Flower

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Achievement Ideas
1): The Green Thunder (Use the Lightning Item as Luigi) (Hard)
2): Picking Your Poison (Choose a team) (Light-Work)
3): TOO FAST! TOO FAST! (Travel up to 500 Miles in total with Mushroom Items) (Difficult)
4): World Leaders (Race Against 8 or more players from different countries) (Medium)
5): Pure Golden (Win a race with Gold Mario in the Gold Setup) (Impossible if you don't have all the golden parts)
6): Is it Mario Day Today? (Win 5 Races as All Types of Mario [Mario, Baby Mario, Tanooki Mario, Metal Mario and Gold Mario]) (Impossible if you don't have Gold Mario)
7): Eat Your Veggies! (Run over 20 Bananas in a Race or Grand Prix) (Kinda Easy)
8): Here Comes The Money! (Collect over 5,000 Coins) (Very Difficult)
9): The Cold Shoulder (Race on tracks that have either Ice or Snow) (Easy)
Don’t forget green Mario, baby green Mario, yellow Mario, and purple Mario for 6
New achievement idea
Green Bean: snipe all 3 green turtle shells on opposing racers
My own achievement ideas!
Lead Foot: Win an online race without releasing the gas at all, including during startup.
Boolipcation: Steal a Boo item with your own Boo.
Skilled Kart Racer: Win an online race without using any items.
Costume Party!: Complete an online race with at least five Miis using unique costumes.
what.: During an online race, get hit enough to go from 1st to 12th place in ten seconds.
Self-Sabotage: Throw a Blue Shell when you’re already in first place.
Slipped Up: Throw a Banana Peel, and then accidentally run into it on the next lap.
They Call Me The Drift King: Use at least twenty five maxed-out drifts in a single race. (Surely this is possible on some courses?)
And lastly…
The Galaxy Cup: Play through a complete set of every track in the game in order in one sitting.
I think a boo is one of the few items a boo cannot pull
alongside crazy 8's and the shock (i think)
•Extra Crazy 48: Race on the original 48 courses at least once.
•World Tour: Get 1st place on every city course from Tour in Grand Prix.
•Feathered Fiend: Land 10 hits with a feather in battle mode.
•Rainmaker: Win a team game of Shine Thief in Urchin Underpass with the CPUs on hard mode.
•Master Renegade: Win a 5 or more minute-long game of Renegade Roundup as a renegade without getting caught.
•Responsible Driver: Beat every staff ghost in Time Trials without bumping into walls.
•Destiny Bond: Hit 5 players with a blue shell explosion in 1st place.
•Sovereign of Shells: Land 2 hits with a green, red, and blue shell in one race.
•Fly High: Glide 1,000 miles.
•Money Can’t Buy You Victory: Win 10 races without touching or using a coin.

Boo Who?: Steal a Powerful Item with The Boo item
(You already know the Name of this one): Dodge a Shock
Not Again!: Get hit by Two Blue Shells in the Same Race
Committing Tax Fraud: Win a Race as Yoshi without Touching or Using Coins
Sounds like you'd love RetroAchievements. We dont have Switch but we have the other Mario Karts up to DS and Double Dash is in the works.
The booster course bonus achievement/trophys (and battle mode trophy/achievement)
Jungle crew: play on dk mountain with donkey Kong diddy Kong and funky Kong all in the same race (as playing as one of them)
World tour: get first on every city track In 100cc or above
Every single color: get first on every rainbow road with shy guy or yoshi
False royalty: play peachete on royal raceway with peach daisy and Rosalina and have them all beat you
(Battle mode)
Turf war: win any mode on urchin underpass
Tower control: never lose a balloon on urchin underpass
Rainmaker: take the shine (in shine thief) from one side of the map to the other
Clam blitz: finish a bom-omb battle with 8 pops or more
[Prepared All Along!]: Block hits using all 3 shells or bananas in its triple version without throwing them in a single race. (Triple Red Shell, Triple Grn. Shell, Triple Banana)

[My Lucky Day!]: Get a Lucky 8 item and bring it to 1st place with at least 1 of the 8 items remaining. You don't need to win, but it must be online.
[Why?]: Blue Shell yourself in a single race. (Throw a Blue Shell item in 1st place)
[It Came Crawling Back]: In a single online race, start in 1st place and stay there for the first lap, go down to 12th and stay there for the second lap, and make your way back to 1st and win in the 3rd lap.
[Spring Breeze]: Have a Slipstream (Staying behind a player's kart for extra speed) effect going for 5 seconds in a single match.

Dirty Strategy: Hit players by throwing shells backwards 5 times.
Unlucky: Finish a race without collecting an item box (items must be turned on).
Scrooge: Collect a total of 1000 coins while you already have 10 coins.
Stubborn Strategy: Win a race without using an item
Wait for it...: Hold onto an item for an entire minute.
The Floor is Lava: Go down with a piece of crumbling track on Grumble Volcano.
Freeloader: Get a boost from other player’s mushrooms 25 times.
Tight Turns: Win 10 races on 200cc without brake-drifting.

Louis G: Actually Mario kart 8 deluxe does have achievements officially but only in at least the based payed online services I don't know if it is available with free trial looping, I can't test it since I payed the expension version anyway. The achievement to start with was very basic it was just play Mario kart 8 deluxe 3 time within 30 days, and the reward for it, it unlock the mario kart 8 deluxe player Icon, background and sticker design, that you have to spend platnium points that you earn doing does achievement and other achievement from other game.

Back in my day…: Finish any race in 4th place or higher without doing any tricks or going through any 0 Gravity or Glider section.

No Discrimination Here - Hit at least 3 people and the player in 1st place with one Blue Shell.

How did you do the designs of the achievements?
Idea: "HEY THERE! -- Make flying Lakitu appear during a race, but still get 1st place"
That could be falling of the track so that he picks you up, or turn around enough so that he shows the "wrong way" sign. I wrote flying so that it's more clear to not count the other players have selected Lakitu as the character.

mushroom shortcats: do 3 shortcuts with one golden mushroom
gotta hit em' all: hit every single player in a race at least once
meta is good: win 3 races in a row with the current best build (yoshi, mr scooty, rollers/azure rollers)
btw the mushroom only is due to lag. has happened to me many times, its also possible to get double coin this way
