    For those in the USA, the jumper is 6'6 tall and about 247 pounds. Won't be easy to hold a guy like that up by the edge of his clothes. Credit to The Beast, but more credit to whoever the jersey manufacturer is.

    the other team did not come in charging like usual because they respect each other and didnt want the guy in the air to brake his neck so everyone more or less helped to bring him down gently. This is great sportsmanship.

    THE BEAST epitomises the green and gold spirit, he will go down in a prominent place in South Africans rugby history not only for the skills he displayed week in and week out but also for the humility with which he carried himself.....so much so....that he is and has been, the only rugby player in history, ever, to have his "name" called out by the entire stadium ( opposing fans as well ) each and every time he touched the ball in a game...... that surely has to be the crowning achievement of any rugby player in the world

    Lemme just say, being a long term fan of rugby and a fan of nfl, both sports are better than nrl and even though nfl is great, you would require much more than you would if you played nfl, nfl players need certain traits suitable to their position, while rugby players all need and extremely large amount of stamina running majority of the game and speed to follow the ball, even large forwards. just saying in overall stats i'd say rugby is tougher and hard than the rest

    Here's some times for you if you are interested (quickest rugby players of the last few years):
    #1 Toderai Chavanga - South Africa -10.27 seconds 100m
    #2 Brian Habana - South Africa - 10.4 seconds 100m
    #3 Takudzwa Ngwenya - USA - 10.5 seconds 100m
    #4 Joe Rokocoko - NZ - 10.66 seconds 100m
    #5 Doug Howlett - NZ - 10.68 seconds 100m
    But rugby doesn't have drafts or combines so they don't record stats like they do in the NFL. There are many players as fast who dont have stats.

    I enjoy American and Canadian football, and it's cool to see the world finally wanting a piece of it, just look up the IFAF. Tackle football is an interesting idea for a sport, and I'm glad Rugby helped spark it, and just because Rugby is ''original" doesn't make it superior. No sport is superior to the other.

Thank you, modern science, for combining spandex, cotton and titanium into a blend that allows athletes to be suspended upside-down by their shorts. Keep those pads on!

    Ok people, your missing one thing in this NFL vs Rugby argument. The NFL has the head coach and Offense/Defense Coordinator(s) constantly telling them what to do each 'down', NFL players rely on instinct and opportunity to 'make a play' from that. Rugby is a test to see what team has learnt the most from their coaches during the week. The team comes second, then the individuals come third. I like to say I'm a fan of both sports. Go the All Blacks and the Detroit Lions!

The Jets in particular have failed in scouting for a long time and when they had the chance to see a guy with his supposed physical prowess they bit but they forgot they had to teach him. There are 2 other TEs who are clearly better and if it wasn't for their injuries during the season. He would have never stepped onto the field. There is also a very real chance this was Mike Tannenbaum (the GM)'s desperation to keep his job. He was willing to go with anything."

  • @Konformation07
    @Konformation07 Před 11 lety

    Many rugby players don't have the explosiveness for football. They don't have the mindset or the physical capabilities to want to kill their opposite number. Rugby is structured and meant to contest possession. In football, possession is not contested and is about doing whatever is necessary to stop the ball carrier as quickly as possible because the offense only need 10 yards. Different mindset hence different physical capabilities.
