- Why doesn’t anyone recognize superman? So this is one of the biggest things people clown on Superman for. The fact that glasses are his disguise but honestly those glasses are more than enough to hide superman and to explain why I’ll use a real life example of something that happened to one of my friends. So At my friend's job he wears a uniform and sees the same people every day, sometimes for hours a day. One day I went with him to a restaurant. and we both were well dressed and what not and We Sat down, and right next to us was a woman my friend knows and talked to frequently. He said hi to her and she looked at him like she had no idea who he was. People get very used to seeing you in a certain way, to the point that out of that element, they might not even recognize you. Superman is just an extreme example of this scenario. You don’t expect for the guy working beside you to be superman so why would you ever think about who he looks similar to plus clark tends to not get close to anybody and is kind of a loner in the comics the only person he’s close with is really lois but she’s kinda aloof a lot so we’re being honest clark’s disguise works and Henry cavill even proved it once by standing out his own poster and no one recognized him.

Henry Cavill actually did this in Times Square and only a couple ppl recognized him and they had a Batman versus Superman billboard up behind him 😂

It's not even just the glasses that disguise him. Clark also goes so far as to alter his posture, speech pattern & general behavior by acting clumsy. He's physically code-switching on a day-to-day basis. Damn near Oscar worthy acting 👏🏾 👏🏾.

I wear glasses and i cannot tell you how many times some one has seen me without my glasses on and be shocked by how I look.
I've been told I look completely different

If Superman were real, he would unequivocally be the most famous person on the planet.
Put some glasses on The Rock, Lebron James or Christiano Renaldo and tell me they can go work a regular 9-5 for decades without anybody noticing.
Exactly! Superman lives as Clark Kent. He isn't hiding in plain sight on occasion, but living out an entire life.
