Lifelong Nascar fan out here in California but SVG brought me here. This racing is where it’s at. I’m hooked and kudos to all of you fans for creating such a great series. You can tell by the last lap shots and seeing the the enthusiasm that you guys are hard core race fans!!
I watched the highlights of the Chicago street race this morning. I had no idea Giz was doing a Nascar race. His talent is undeniable, and has been for a long time. I'm an Aussie, but the New Zealanders are way over-represented in V8 Supercars series given the NZ population. The Kiwis really know how to drive a car. They're like the Finns in rally racing. in fact SVG is very handy in a rally car too. The bloke can drive anything fast.
That race win for SVG in nascar for people who know the racing here always gave SVG an opportunity of winning..some of these races I've watched were the winners come from the back and only lead 1 lap, THE FINAL LAP !!! CHECK OUT THE BATHURST RACES OVER THE MOUNTAIN COURSE....WOW!! SIMPLY ONE OF THE VERY BEST TRACKS IMHO...
I'm in California too. It might have been a bit more interest when they ran the holden Commodore and Ford Falcon😍🤘
Those Team orders are quite possibly the catalyst for a NASCAR Move sooner than later.
We’ve had a few here and there, but the playoffs usually eliminate the possibility of it

I love watching NASCAR on road circuits. These guys take it to a whole other level. I'd love to see this series do a race or 2 here in the U.S.
Been there, done that, the market wasn't there for them a few year's ago and doing it again will cost even more now.
@@CamaroThings Where did they race? Cost would obviously be a factor. I just think with the CUP series doing more races on non oval tracks and the similarities of these cars now, it may do better.

@@BaronOBeefDip No, it is all to do with the networks. Unless it is NASCAR or Indy car, they wont invest. It would be better as an organization to do a network deal to have regular coverage of the races from Australia. And like F1 if the ratings are there, look to bring a race to the US
As an old American cup fan I can honestly say, these races are incredible. Absolutely love this series. Im watching actual racing and not a sometimes circus act. Awesome racing.

Well, I have a feeling SVG won't be in this championship next year, I guess he has done everything here, time to move on to something else.
This whole spat very well could have been the catalyst for svg to end up in the cup series to some degree next year

I guess SVG is learning what it's like to be shuttled back to no 2 driver just like 888 did to Lowndes with Whincup but give Whincup heaps of credit he admitted in and interview that after the 2007 season the team focused more on his car than Lowndes
Weirdly in the post race interview, Feeney said he had no idea what was going on when he came around the last corner.
From last by over 6 seconds to 4th,over 5 seconds ahead of Brock and they make a call like that! Like he said "why would I do that,I've past him" he's a racer for fu×KS sake and one of the best you'll ever see! Sooner he leaves supercars the better he'll be!!

I don't get the SVG-BF call, Shane was quicker and would have past Brock before the end of the race anyway.... poor call T8.

T8 played it just right. They finished 4&5. Either way is fine for the team. They told the drivers to go after 3rd. It didn’t work out. It’s nicer when we, the viewers don’t get to see this sort of thing, but at least it’s clear what went on…

It's a shame that four-door saloons aren't raced in this series anymore as they were distinctive but it's still Ford vs. GM, the way it should be!
The Falcon v Commodore years made for some great looking cars. Without a doubt. I think the new format makes for some beautiful machines too.
Great to see Anton back up there. About time the fords started. Eho would have thought about the aerodynamics. I've still got my money on Cam Waters for Bathurst. It's great to see young guys coming on like Feeny. It was getting boring watching SVG win everything.
Anything is possible at Bathurst but tyre deg still looks to be an issue with the Fords so I wouldn't put any money on a Blue Oval win this year.
Track seems much wider on road courses but I do love how they make moves. Letting guys by though. Yikes! Fun stuff I can absolutely see how all the starts lined up in Chicago

Like it or not, team orders are a part of Motorsport and even in times where they have been ruled out, they have still been used, just with cryptic messages “Felipe is faster than you” etc.

It's a team game. The driver works for the team, not the other way around.
@@BatMan-oe2gh because there wouldn't have been any debate about feeney finishing above him if svg didnt think he could pass heimi. They would have finished like they did if heimi was ten seconds up the road as opposed to 1.5.

Just watched the 2024 Bahrain g.p, it can't even compete with a 14 min highlights of supercars.
I eat my words. The Mustang finally won a race. With the changes to the Stang it proves they didn't have perfect parity from the start. Would like to see how SVG does at Oval racing. Daytona sounds good.

American here, first time seeing the series in a few years, what happened to Holden?
Because of GM's shutdown of Holden, they last participated in the series as a factory team in 2021 I believe. Last season used Commodores too but Holden did not participate as a factory team.
This is the first year of GMSV/Chevrolet racing the Camaro again Ford.

I think the move to Nascar for SVG will be after this season, rumblings and rumors here in the United States is that he may be driving for Stewart/Hass in the 10 Smithfield Mustang, but as I said only rumblings and rumors, I'm pretty sure Ford will be up to keeping him out of a Chevrolet here in the States 👍

Watched NASCAR since 1990. Liked the racing for years. Found Supercars 3-4 years ago thanks to cable TV. Supercars are much more entertaining because, due to the smaller tires, they can get more out of shape and recover. In NASCAR, once it gets loose, its in the wall. Regarding sponsors, I am perfectly OK with the sponsor billboarding the WHOLE side of the car. (I even have been inspired to look them up on the web out of curiosity) The friggin' car number SHOULD be secondary. Put IT on the quarter panel instead of the sponsor. Though I must admit, NASCAR pit stops are much more entertaining. (Not a fan of double stacking either)

they raced at COTA several years ago then didn't come back, I've always suspected that nascar had something to do with that. Once I started watching supercars, watching stock cars go straight then turn left hundreds of times just wasn't quite as interesting

Not necessarily normal but they can happen in any road series once the championship reaches a certain point.

Do we really need 4 car brands? It’s simple with 2. There were 3 brands in the 90’s, 5 brands in the early stages of gen 2, and now 2 brands. Which I kinda like 2 brands, it keeps it simple.
There was only two brands between 1993 and 2013.
Australia is only a small country mate, and motorsport only has minority popularity compared with all the ball-sport codes. It isn't America or Europe here.

Team orders have no business in motorsports in 2023
On this occasion, this early in the season, you are right not sure why the call was made (given there is no championship recognition or prize for round wins anymore).
In fairness, if it was late in the season and there is was clear that only one driver was in position for a championship lead or win; the second driver should understand that the teams best interest lays with the better performing driver and yes, the team reserves the right to make the call.
