At the end of last Summer (Australia = March), I came across a boat in Queensland that turned out to be your old monohull. Research led me to this channel and binge-watching from episode #1 over a few months got me here. Since I caught up the past month has been one episode a week...which is murder! I'm looking forward to your European travels as I plan to spend most of 2023 darting in and out of the Schengen area.
I've postponed the boat buying until 2024 and ditched the monohull idea for a catamaran. Keep the episodes coming.

Hey Zataran’s, when you hit the Med, come over to Cyprus to see us all! I’m a Limey living on the island with my wife. Lots to see (the Turk/Greek Cypriot problem would be a good one for René to video; and great sailing trust me! I can only see you out there on the water if you’re in my water so come on over!!
Maui while on business, as he was in the Development of the hydrofoil surfboard. I got to watch him test several prototypes of foils on both the north and south shores of the island Maui.
Also watched Laird Hamilton, while a jet ski towed him into a monster-sized waves, what a site it was to see him ride those waves.

I'm so glad Keith and Jack found the "foil"! I want to see Kate out on her surf board sometime. I know it takes waves for that to happen.

Lovely speech about University life and use to many people. I agree that not all are suited to that kind of training. I went to music colleges in London which I enjoyed and met people with similar aims some of which I still perform with in Bands and Orchestras. It was amazing that everyone in the building played a musical instrument........

What a killer life you're living out there on the water! I've got another few years of building my spec home and then I'll sell it and get my catamaran. I'm building it with my own hands and no hired labor at all except for on concrete days. It's a very large custom home and that's why it's taking me a long time to finish. I'm dreaming every day about sailing around the world and your show inspires me to keep plugging along.

Our Family is out of South Houston and looking forward to getting in a big Cat as well. We love the style of the more luxurious Cats over the fast Cats. Until we sell what we need to sell. You guys should buy 2 other sailboats, another cat like 45 feet, and a mono haul same size. Equip them as you would your own. Then start a charter tour. Take 6 people each boat and switch them half way through various tours around the Caribbean, pacific and med. Have your kids get a captains license and captain those boats while teaching people sailing. Also offer to have boats follow you and you act as guide to all of them. Have a video intercom radio system always on in between boats so everyone can talk. You could charge $60k a person for that. Do 1 and 3 month tours. Then charge per boat that follows. Get group rates at marinas. You could probably get a boat manufacturer to sponsor you to provide the yachts. If they think it’s a way for people serious about getting into sailing a means of buying their yacht. Qualify people that you take on. Application interview. Make a whole series online while you sail. Have other sailing experts come onboard for a few days here and there.
You could make enough to pay for the other yachts in a few years.
Maybe provide one meal a day for all crews and do group provisioning buying in bulk and having shipments waiting in ports. Combined with shopping local markets showing people how to go about that. Put everything into a s corp LLC. Probably easier to get insurance. Get mesh WiFi networking setup to create high speed links between boats.
And the older you get the more you’ll attract people with money. What a way to ease into retirement. Have a 80 ft cat by then with your own crew and chef. Your kids running things. And you just tag along from port to port as the entertainment directors. Which could mean anything really. You laying in a hammock on deck all day and just say “I’m your entertainment. Enjoy.” Then nod off.
All the riches in the word cannot beat been with family and doing things together.. Water looks so nice and warm compared to our Cape Town water, but we still have one of the best placed to do kiting, I enjoyed the this episode. travel safe.
