    Check out how I use a CONCEPT I call "Advanced Framing" to stop my opponents from ever passing my guard.
    PLEASE let me know what you think of this?

    Listen to this man. I am a BJJ black belt with 20 years experience. I find my self hearing from blue and purple belts that it was something I said (conceptual) more than than something I demonstrated that helped them break a plateau. Techniques follow concepts, not the other way around.

      While I think this is a great concept video...the typical way I've seen good people pass after stapling your legs together, is to slowly inch up from your legs towards your torso - without releasing an arm until they're well at your hips. Dale's technique here doesn't really address that slow pressure climb up your legs as they pass. I'm not a black belt so please correct me if I'm wrong.

      @medmemer5970 Před 5 lety +3

      @@jamesyoo67 That's why he stresses the importance of keeping your frames. They can't inch up on you if you keep framing them away. Eventually they have to give.

      figure four around ankles and gable grip around thighs while maintaining head and should pressure on the guys torso will help to elevate his legs and his body’s reaction will be automatically to lay back. It not easy to stay seated and keep framing up if the guys does this well. Much respect for Dale but his technique here isn’t the most clear

    Thank you so much for posting this. Have trained and taught kung fu for 15 years and BJJ has always seemed interesting but totally foreign. This for me bridges a lot of the principles we work with in an understandable way. Definetly going to have a crack at this at the local gym.

    • @quasar4601
      @quasar4601 Před 6 lety

      you as a wrestler can make the jump to Purple bet the same time as normal guys can make the jump from white to blue. You will be smashing white belts with ease on wrestling alone

    • @douglasachaiba7885
      @douglasachaiba7885 Před 6 lety

      As a white or blue belt, you should get comfortable being on your back. It gives you a chance to work on your guard. Against higher belts you’ll be on your back a lot, take the opportunity to develop your guard and learn sweeps and reversals.

  • @Vengeance888

    At this level of bjj I’m starting to get less interested because in reality striking will change the entire game. So to gain mastery of bjj one must go thru a lot of bullshit. Which is actually similar to other martial arts like Aikido.
