Tim, the bass singer who took the lead first on this, wrote this arrangement himself, and he did it when he was only 19. These guys really know their stuff and it shows in more than just their skill singing. They tend to start out simpler and then building the layers and complexity. Loved your expression when they hit that crescendo before the end. Love you reactions to Home Free and I am here for the journey. You should check out Mary Did You Know and Do You Hear What I Hear. And after the Holidays, check out some of their original songs. They are every bit as good as the classics they cover.
Tim was in Dental School at that time but still was singing with a group he was in in High School.
Glad you loved this one. They have the best harmonies of an acapella group. These guys are my favorite, just absolutely phenomenal.
The bell tones and the waterfall ‘fall’ give me the goosebumps and brings me almost to tears. Love these guys and everything they do.
I love to listen to Tim just softly lay down those lines while the group 'rises' around him. And then Austin just flies away with their support. But still a simple presentation. No ostentatious grandstanding like so many performers do, just a simple prayerful choir.
Fun fact about Home Free. While they have always had country songs as part of their concerts, they were never a country acapella group, After several attempts to get on the Sing Off, the producers of that show suggested that they audition as "the only country acapella group". None of them actually wanted to do that since they did all genres, but Austin finally talked them into doing it. And of course they made it on the show and won. There is a series of videos on Chris Rupp's channel (the guy in the black cowbot hat) on the history of Home Free and he talks about this with Austin and Tim in one of them.
Tim arranged this masterpiece when he was 19!!!!
"Dang!" is the perfect response to what you were hearing! I appreciate, also, that they kept the song classic, and classy. Thanks for a heartfelt reaction. Happy Christmas.
I've heard this so many times I can't count. The point is that I was watching YOU as you experienced this for the first time. Your facial expressions told the story of your impressions as fluently as your spoken words. Wonderful version of the song, and wonderful reaction TO the song!!
Tim Foust, the bass, arranged this when he was 18-19!! Austin was just a baby!! Still, his voice had great power and quality already!!
That southern twang comes from Tim Foust ( bass ) from Texas, Austin Brown ( lead tenor ) from Georgia and Adam Chance ( baritone ) from Florida. Adam Rupp ( beat - box ) and Rob Lundquist ( tenor ) are both from Minnesota.
Home Free sounds so warm and so great on this! I just love these boys! ❤ Like most Home Fries I have listened to this many times and never tire f t, goosebumps every time! Thanks for a great reaction and Merry Christmas!
So gorgeous. Great arrangement by Tim and perfect execution by them all.
Heeey, Jenna! Merry Christmas to you and your family!! 🦌💚❤🎄🎅 I am absolutely loving your Home Free reactions! I re-feel every single thing you feel when they surprise you - your face and eyes are soooo expressive! Truly, you're very empathic. 😃 Thank you for covering them - I was so lucky to actually see them in concert 10 days ago. Omg... Somehow - they're even better live. And, yes, Tim Foust is the bass, and Austin Brown is the high tenor (in this one). Such great harmonies - they're all outstanding. Have a lovely holiday, my friend! Peace!! xo ✨🤗🥰
Don't forget, for the 31st. (New Years Eve.) Home Free does a beautiful rendition of "Auld Lang Syne." It's harmony heaven, don't miss it.
😉
This song was my first introduction to Home Free--and they've been my favorite musicians ever since!
Love it when these guys voice the bell tones🔔
Besides the unbelievable harmonies--and gorgeous church backdrop--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

The two leads here are Tim Faust bass Texas, and Austin Brown hi tenor Georgia the other three are Minnesota boys.
Tim the guy in grey is their bass singer but arranged this when he was 19 years old.
I like to believe that the high voice at the end when Austin was singing was Adam Chance...the human beatbox.
Tim, his name is Tim Foust. I really enjoy your Home Free reactions, please continue!
If you have never seen/heard their version of "How Great Thou Art", it is a MUST SEE!!!
They are AMAZING. ❤
This is so very beautiful! There is nothing these guys can't do. Love your reaction!
Can't wait to see you really fall down this rabbit hole. You will be VERY surprised by what they can do. They sound just as good in person or better than they do in their videos. Hope you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS. subscribed for more HOME FREE!
I love Home Free and their harmonies!

The one that got me started!!!!
Merry Christmas 🎉
Great reaction, Jenna! I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Great reaction
Enjoyed your reaction! I just love the cascading "Fall... "
Sucker for Home Free 😂
I must admit, this is really good, your face was a picture most of the way through 😂
Enjoyed your review and reaction, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year 🎉🥳🎄🌹
Good reaction! They use the country twang in degrees, depending on the arrangement! Please, on December 31, listen and react to "Auld Lang Syne".
oh, yes!!!!
#HOMEFREE.....beautiful!
I had to write a list of who was in each group when I first got introduced to these a cappella groups.
I should have printed a picture of each group and labeled them.
This is such a beautiful version of this song.❤️❤️❤️
Tim, the bass, arranged this song when he was a teenager. Loved the bell tones and the descending notes too. So beautiful and a beautiful church too. Good one K! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! 😍😃
The Fact that four Lead singer skills exist in one vocal Group is already insanely unique - add the THREE register Voice of Tim Foust ..... then Austin Brown going aloft in sonic wonder ..... sweet mid Tenor from Rob, former now Chris Rupp, Founder on Baritone / Tenor and brother beat boxer usually - lends a hand on support tenor fills ..... just mind blowing beautiful voices !!! jj
Merry Christmas, Gorgeous Jenna
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄💗
“Mary did you know “ is a must by home free beautiful voice work along with Adam beat boxing - he does just the right amount- a must listen
Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🎄. #HOMEFREE.
If you like a capella, you should also check out Pentatonix and their new video of O holy night.
Homefree cover of "When a man loves a woman " is an absolute must see.
😇 Angels singing 😍. Great reaction.🤠 HF is amazing 🔥🔥🔥🏠🍟
Austin looks like such a baby here!
They did a great job as usual on anything they sing, but this is my 2nd best version. I know it's a little late in the season, so if you have to put it on the list for next year, please listen to Bill and Gloria Gaither, "O' Holy Night" live ft. David Phelps (he is wearing a green sweater). David is a world class tenor, and in his version, I have seen more than one person's eyes start to "sweat"! Keep up the great reviews!!
Great rxn
😇🤠😇
Great reaction, as always! Please check out Jussi Björling's version O helga natt (in Swedish)! If not as a reaction, just listen to it on your own, I can guarantee that you will like it.
❤
During the video, you mentioned the setting, candles, great harmony, etc. Thinking of those things, try Pentatonix doing "Mary Did You Know" .. I promise you'll love it as much, or more, than this. They don't provide the 'country twang" tho ! :)
Loved the reaction. ^.^ This song is amazing, but "Angels We Have Heard on High" Is better than this one. It's also in a church. I know the Holidays are over, but us Home Fries won't mind if you do a reaction to it. :D
Where's the choir hidden?
Their good in their own way. But their not as good as David Phelps. David is in a class all by himself.
Sorry, I don't love a bass singer. The only exception is Avi Kaplan.
