Gold is tier 1. Thats all you need to know. Gold is not expensive, its the dollar losing value. They are printing a trillion every 100 days! Gold is showing you that its retaining purchasing power and the dollar losing value. Thats how you need to look at it!

RIGHT! That is how I look at it. GOLD is the standard, and it is measured by weight (grams or ounces). The US $ is measured in $/oz or $/g of gold (the inverse of what is reported as gold price). The one number I try to maintain and increase is my gold holdings in kg and grams. (##.### kg where # is a digit).
I agree, but What purpose does gold have, without silver we will die, it's purification and internal body acceptance I consider silver more valuable than gold. I'm 71 my grandfather always said silver is a poor man's gold. You are correct Sal,...silver is consumed sooner or later it needs to flip.

It is troubling about the gold flowing East, but we have ourselves to blame. The Western countries (US included) have not been focusing on important things, like infrastructure, education, immigration control, payment of the national debt etc. We have been too focused on fighting other nations wars like Ukraine- Russia, Israeli Palestinian conflict etc. All the Western politicians are daft - they all say the same thing. It does not matter what political party you support, Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative. All the politicians are the same. Republicans and Democrats both voted to give 95 billion dollars to Ukraine.

The US dollar might be unsound money, but the bullion dealers seems to cherish and stack it.
Bullion dealers are few and far between. And most of them are moral people. They’re trying to help people store their value and most if not all have plenty of bullion in their own stash for a reason.

They buy more Bullion to sell. They use their profits to stack for themselves and pay bills like most every one else until.
The USD still has value. If you want to place bets in the stock market, you need it. If you want to buy goods in U.S., you need it. To pay bills for water and electricity, internet, you need it. Use the USD for what you have too, but I wouldn't store wealth in it, doesn't make sense.
How do you know what they do with the generated cash? Small dealers most likely pay themselves a livable wage, pay the bills to keep the business open and maybe plow anything left back into the business. It is a difficult business to operate. Many little guys close shop. And who knows what the big online dealers are doing with big profits? Maybe they offer some of the least expensive prices. Of course, this attracts even more customers. Small guy makes $20 on one sale while the big guy sells 100 deals at just perhaps $10 profit. Who survives? The big guy.

Gold is up a bit this morning, silver is down a but holding on around $27 the ratio is 86. Pretty much same old story. I have a few peices of gold a bar, a fractional coin and some rings. That's all I can do right now. Worried about severe weather more than anything right now. Seems like golfball hail and baseball size hail with tornados is the new normal now. When the gold and silver ratio get closer to the natural underground ratio say at least 20 to 1. I will trade my silver for gold.
I think going with fractionals and foreign gold like Mexican dos pesos, Swiss 20 franc gold pieces ( Swiss vrenelis ) are the best strategy to holding gold as gold prices continue to climb up and has gold becomes increasingly less affordable to the common man.
Agree with this. Fractional pieces can be found at close to spot if you look around (during the last rise some suppliers didn't increase their prices in a timely way and found a few 20 fr Swiss coins for £330.

I wish folks did not use percentage to communicate the weight of a coin or bar. It's much easier to remember fractions, hence the term fractional. 1oz = 31.1 grams, 1/2oz = 15.55 grams, 1/4oz = 7.77 grams, 1/10oz = 3.11 grams, 1/20oz = 1.55 grams.

I've always known gold and 'real silver' was worth something, but dad bought into one of those Tv bags of buffalo nickels things... dad said it was a scam once it came in, and I was under the impression too, so I got rid of them when he passed... duh, its silver coins, not just $.05 cent pieces, well, live and learn.

Those which are in almost uncirculated to uncirculated condition have collector's value.
I see silver as a great way to have hedged money in smaller amounts and gold as a major investment, that you don't want to break into, too often! So, silver, as you say, as a consumable/tradeable.
Some people do sell their future generational wealth, but that is up to them. The BRICS and other countries will be glad to buy it. When you get into some real weath you must be ready to hang onto it for many years at time. Even if you must hang on for your lifetime and pass it on, it will useable to your future generations.

Viewing from down under. Love the silver half dollar and the small gold coins! The only thing i dislike about small gold coins is the ridiculous premiums. It drives me nuts how unfair the prices are and i wonder how dealers manage to sell anything under one OZ of gold...
Me too. I'ld like to have some fractional gold coins but refuse to pay the premium. I'll buy one ounce coins first. I have a chisel and a hammer. First chop in half and then divide each half into quarters. Wa la! Eight junks of gold. Could be wrong but think this where the term "pieces of eight" originated. Pretty sure they were talking about silver.

When i was married to my first wife her dad had me helping him build swing sets on the weekends. When he paid me i put it all into gold. I got secondary market 1 gram 2 gram 5 gram bars and 1/10 ounce coins. When we divorced i knew she had no gold so i gave her all of the gold i bought with the money i got helping her dad. Its worth alot of money now but my personal gold stash is worth way more. I wonder if she sold it or still has it. I told her it was emergency money if dollar crashes. She did not like gold or silver unless it was a ring or necklace

1,000 Oz of silver weighs almost 70 pounds!
I’ve been converting some silver into gold. I try to trade 82 Oz of silver into 1 Oz of gold, and just pay $USD for the premium. Usually it’s about 82 ozt silver + $120 = 1 ozt of gold.
I think silver will outperform gold somewhat, but it’s too dang heavy. I want my wife to be able to have portable real money if something happens to me.
I agree. I own $1,000 face of siver. Guess that's 715 ounces of silver + or -. I'm old. This stuff is way too heavy to move. Easy, just move small bags of this stuff.

I have no shortage of space to keep my silver since I own several different properties on acreage. I spread it around so it's not all in one place. All I have is silver. I traded all my gold for silver in March of 2020 on the day of the dip when the gold to silver ratio was 127 to 1. I believe that the GSR will end up being around an 8 to 1 ratio when Trump ends the private FED.

Great video, Sal! Another alternative are Austrian Florins and Kronen (crowns). Though Austria wasn't part of the Latin Monetary Union the 4 and 8 Florin coins were equivalent to 10 and 20 Franc coins of the LMU while the Kronen coins have 5% more gold content than LMU coins. One great thing about these Austrian coins is that they are still restruck today! While LMU coins of 10 Francs are very rare and expensive, the comparable Austrian restrikes are relatively cheap and often available in larger quantities.

Always pick your coins up by the rims. Do not let the obverse or reverse touch your fingers. Your skin produces oils that will stick to the surface Aka finger prints. No matter how how clean your hands are. Try using white gloves.

Ive hot plenty of food, water and lead. Ive also got a good pile of junk silver. Now im focusing on bitcoin and gold. I refuse to sit on my pile of silver and scream how much i hate bitcoin while i watch it double and silver drop $2 again. I might as well cheer bitcoins rise as well. I could care less what form of asset helps me finish out my life not being homeless but ill have a piece of all just in case im wrong. Good for you, garlic. You must be a high earner. Most people who have a clue about metal preservation of wealth, purchase just a little bit at a time. Sometimes they have to sell a portion for an unforeseen emergency. This experience on earth is called life.
Like you I started stacking in the late 70's. Never sold anything. No need, I always stack fiat cash in the event of an unforeseen crisis. Not much but just enough to prevent having to sell metals.

Went and visited with my bullion dealer and he said only thing going on is people are selling. Most of his transactions has been buying metals. With the economy everybody selling with the higher prices for gold and silver. I went and sold 10 oz of gold and betting it will drop again this summer. The Chinese people are investors, Americans are consumers. Big difference. The Chinese are fully aware of wealth preservation, a great percentage of the people have thousands or millions in their bank accounts. They invest in real estate, own businesses and perhaps workaholics. Gold is a store of wealth to them. They fully understand what has value for their future.
A week ago at my lcs the gold selling was a thing. This last Friday totally different story, both buying silver and gold. Just one young one in the mostly old farts crowd of buyers

With Cold War 2 and a imminent hot war Gold will remain high. Difficult decision to make for the unprepared or unwilling to accept global warfare underway. The clandestine Alien Intervention doesn’t help either as we mine for them as gold cloaks their vehicles.
When it comes to gold, we should indeed keep up with the jones. If countries are increasing their gold acquirement, we should do the same ourselves... but always stack in YOUR budget

i am a stacker and agree the USA $ is all but done BUT @SalivateMetal i would love to hear a pod cast about your thoughts on what happens when the $ folds and a new $ is brang in which would be strong meaning if Gold and Silver prices havent gone up , and are just compared to the face value of whatever $ is in play wouldnt that mean they would both have to revert back to a much lower value in $ terms for the new $ to be able to have any positive effect on debts around the world ? i am very intrusted in hearing your thoughts

Question, i want to secure some money i have, but yet i still owe 80k on my home and about 20k on a HELOC. I save money per paycheck and am wanting to buy an oz of gold and some silver. My question is, is it pointless to stack if i still owe such loans on my home??
I noticed the recycling place here is hoarding aluminum while a pawn broker is running a special weekend event to buy your gold. Definitely out of the norm for these places, so wondering "what's up with that." Morning Uncle Sal ☕
One should not make purchases with gold and silver. Making purchases with PM leads to loss of financial positioning. But if you conduct trades and/or exchanges for similarly equal items (non perishables) one possibly survives during challenging financial times.
