This is just a basic humidor, if you’d like to see a video on how to make a more complex humidor let me know! I’d be happy to make another
Would love to see another cigar box
Beautiful box! For humidors, you should not be putting any oil or other finish on the cedar. This inhibits the cedar from collecting/distributing moisture to/from the cigars.
Does that lack of finish also apply to the outside of the humidor? Or is that specific to the inner wood (cedar)?
No sir. Just the interior. Preferably cedar or cypress.
Hank love your passion for woodworking. You need to learn to rebate your box bottoms in. Also you need to to reinforce your miters with splines. CA & pin nails are not going to hold up. If you are charging people money for your work you owe them a product that will last. CA glue even with wood glue is not strong enough for boxes that might be dropped or handled in hand often like a humidor will be. Otherwise your construction process is fine. Keep making stuff and making videos but you must learn to rebate your box bottoms into the sides. It makes it so much stronger and will open up many more opportunities
You should also learn how to install hinges by recessing them into the case. You will have a better fitting lid and again much stronger.
Beautiful Build, would you mine sharing where did you get the front latch from?
I used hillman solid brass. I found it at my local b&s hardware store. I just painted them black and used a wire brush to show some of the brass under the black.
Maybe you should try country craft because its painfully obvious to me you know about fine woodworking
I’m sorry, what is country craft?
Beautiful project but terrible editing, show the sanding in sped up motion and the build in real time.
I will agree with you on that. If I had known this video would do as good as it has I definitely would’ve spent more time on editing. I do appreciate the feedback, however I’m a woodworker not an editor so I’ll try harder on the editing next time.
Amateurish work.
Sorry to say that, but you must learn a lot about craftmanship.
Do you have a craftsmanship? Doesn't look like it from your channel..
