Wow, this was SO thorough. I've been debating between the two compacts for ages and you really helped me. You're awesome!
I'm so glad the video was helpful! 😊
Thank you for this! Gonna try them for sure!
Thank you for this! I love their Alto Defense and was curious about the sunscreens
Glad you liked it!. I just published a video on the Skinbetter AlphaRet this morning, in case you are interested. 😊
Loved that you made this video . I work at a skin spa in San Antonio. I have to learn these products and their usages and ingredients…. I’m order to recommend them to our patients . I plan on buying a few of them to try and so all the info you just shared will be so helpful to share with our clients.
Keep up the amazing work !
Thank you. Glad it was useful!
The tinted lotion is definitely my favorite SPF! Thanks for the video 😊
Yep I agree, that one is great
I loved this video thank you!!
Glad you liked it ☺️
I love both. I have used both for 3 years now!
Hi thank you so much for this video - very informative. I'm using the sheer lotion at the moment. It's great! I was just wondering, I read in a previous comment, you had mention to do 1-2 pumps of application, but isn't it supposed to be 1/4 tsp? or is this formulation more concentrated that 2 pumps is good enough? Just wanted to make sure I'm applying enough. Thanks again!
I know what you mean. The problem with the 1/4 tsp rule is that every brand has a different formulation and concentration so the rule is really ambiguous and meaningless. Skinbetter states 1-2 pumps, 2 for face and neck. I use 1.5 on my face and it works well
I adore sunbetter products. My husband is a truck driver and uses the sheer and I use the compact when I going for a natural look.
Question for you: how do you best recommend applying the compact? The sponge isn’t always easy on the cheek area for me.
I have cool tone fairlight skin tone ( more fair than light). Was hoping to find a tinted compact with high spf that wouldn't be too dark and yellow for my skin. What are your thoughts on this products tint? Very helpful video.
That is tough. Most of my Fitzpatrick 1's find products make them grey or orange. You could try colorescience flex in fair, it might be orange though. I would say th lightest least orange and yellow is the skinbetter tonesmart lotion SPF 75, but I think someone said it made them grey. Let me know what you choose and how it works for you!
I haven’t found much information about these sunscreens so your review is so helpful! I’m curious about the tinted lotion. Is it sticky? Does your hair stick to your face after you apply it?
Yes. Though stickiness improves over time, I usually put powder or powder sunscreen on top. I'm glad you found the video useful. ☺️
@@theocbeautymd thanks! Does the sheer sunscreen lotion dry down? Also, does the sheer lotion leave a white cast? I’m skin type III. Thank you so much!!
@@cathyjohnson9464 I feel that the sheer does dry down much better, probably because it is a matte finish. It doesn't leave a white cast even on deeper skin tones. If you try it, let me know how you like it.
How does the tone smart tinted lotion compare to Colorescience FLEX in terms of coverage, finish etc?
If I’m going out in the sun all day, I wear the lotion as a base, and the compact over it. That combo does not budge, looks natural, and I get no sun color. I’m pale when I remove it in the evening. 🏝
I have never tried this combo!! I will for sure though! thanks 👍🏼
The sheer or tinted?
Both the tinted
Very interesting video
Thank you!
Love your video! I'm having a hard time choosing between the sunscreens. I don't like to feel product on my face. Which one would feel the lightest? I do not have not a preference between tint or no tint just would like the most comfortable to wear.
The lightest most natural feel will be from the skinbetter sheer sun stick or sheer lotion. If you are more dry for for the stick and if you are more oily, try the sheer lotion. If you prefer a silicone application feel, you might like the Tizo 2 or 3. Let me know what you think if you try one of these 😊
@@theocbeautymd thank you so much! I will definitely keep you updated.
@@theocbeautymd I was able to get a sample of the Tizo AM replenish non tinted version, I know it was not one of your suggestions but they were out of stock of the Tizo 2 & 3. I actually didn’t mind the silicon feel. Loved it ends up drying completely down and you don’t feel like you’re wearing anything but I have combination to dry skin and by the end of the day my skin felt very tight. I used my usual hydrating Verso serum and my day time vani cream ceramide moisturizer. I have perioral dermatitis but I haven’t had a flare up in over a month. I still try to go for minimal or more gentle ingredients. Would you suggest a different option?
@@elizabethrosario.a Yes, I would suggest the Skinbetter stick foundation, it dries down completely, it's matte and it doesn't dry out the skin. It does not have a silicone feel but it does fully absorb
@@theocbeautymd Thank you so much! I really appreciate you respond to your comments. Will order the stick today from your link. Have a great day!
hi ania, i am acne prone, but wanting to try the compact. any tips for me? how do i keep the product clean?--do you recommend spraying with anything to make sure it is bacteria free? and for the sponge...do you ever replace it? clean it? how? sorry for all the questions, but with acneic skin, as i'm sure you know, cleanliness is so essential! thank you very much in advance xx
I completely understand. ☺️I would recommend you use a makeup brush or wash the sponge after every use. I don't think you need to clean the actual compact but if you wanted to you could lightly wipe a cotton round with alcohol or spray a small amount on the product.
@@theocbeautymd Thank you, dr.! :)
Your skin is amazing!!! Which one are you wearing?
Thanks! Welcome! 🌸
What amount of the tinted lotion should you be using for the best sun protection? I can’t find that information on their website. It just says a liberal amount. Thanks
1-2 pumps
acne prone skin here - should I be worried about using the stick? i feel like it would be unsanitary to keep applying it to my skin everyday without cleaning it between each use - or am i being paranoid? thanks for such an informative video!!!
I love using the color science powder stick to reapply!
Hi - Which of the compacts is best for dry, mature skin?
They are similar but I favor the tinted one
Which one are you wearing in the video? And are you wearing any other foundation with it?
I don't remember but probably the compact, it has the best coverage. I don't wear foundation anymore
Is the sheer lotion tinted? Which one is tinted and matte? Thank you!
Tinted and matte would be the Tone Smart compact. The tinted lotion has a mild glow. All of the sheer products (lotion, stick and compact) are matte and without any color, they are white when dispensed but don't give a white cast.
@@theocbeautymd thank you
Is the sheer compact a powder or cream/gel form?
it is a cream and it is the same formula as the stick, just different packaging.
I want them all 😄
😅
Is the sheer compact truly sheer, or is it more of a white?
I would say the sheer compact and stick are truly sheer. The sheer lotion is more white.
@@theocbeautymd Thank you so much for your help, Dr. Ania!
I'm a boy and I use the tinted uv clear! it honestly looks like i'm wearing makeup.. I actually love the glam look, even tho i'm a boy, it just gives me a pretty glow :). but i'm going to try the regular one so people don't think i'm wearing foundation lol
let me know what you think of it!
@@theocbeautymd of course babe 💖
Which sunscreen do you prefer Colorescience or Skin better science. It looks that they both are top of the line.
I agree both are my top two!
I go back and forth between the SBS tinted lotion and the Color Science Original Sun Shield. As far as how they look it’s neck and neck. The SBS might feel a tad better on the skin. The only reason I go with SBS is the higher SPF rating.
@@kimespe8022 Yep. They are both great formulations. It's really a matter of personal preference. I also like the higher SPF when I know I will be outside all day and the water resistance in longer on the SBS
Where can we buy this in Canada??

Hi! Is this pregnancy safe?
As with everything, these products have not been tested on pregnant patients, but the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are non-nano, which means they don't absorb into your blood stream. Chemical sundress do. Skinbetter sunscreen does not contain chemical sunscreen so I would feel comfortable using these in pregnancy.
Hello, you are mentioning that they are nanoparticles free, but Titanium Dioxide a nanomaterial is in all of them. Often even as a 1st ingredient. It is a pity, cause I was about to buy them, But please be cautious with what you are saying
If you want to avoid titanium dioxide, colorescience unforgettable only contains zinc oxide. The titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in skinbetter science are formulated in such a way that they are not nanoparticles. I specifically inquired about this to be sure. It all depends on the formulation.
@@theocbeautymd Thank you for that Clarification! then I m happy to give them a try :)
@@magnolia2957 I don't like nano particles on my skin either :)
Your Instagram link unfortunately is not working. I need to talk to you about these products on there before I order through you. Please let me know how we can talk
