- The first real life user trial of the GTV!
Tony from Floatwheel created a custom VESC board for the OneWheel GT and agreed to sell me pre-production samples. I installed the first one, with the help of Emanuel (Mano) Gutman - the best (and not because he’s the only) OneWheel technician we have in Israel.
Here’s my first impression of the installation process and mainly - the riding experience on this upgraded beast!
The video was created using: Insta360 ONE RS 1” 360 Edition, Insta360 GO2, Hover X1, iPhone 15 Pro Max

amazing! I have mine on order!!
thx for the first look 🏆👀
This is awesome. Keep the vids coming.
Thanks for this review and your insights! How is the range? Does it remain the same as a GT? Note: your description shows "The first real life user trial of the VTG!" I believe you intended 'GTV'.
Can't wait to get my hands on one
just installed my gtv drop in this week, new to vesc and have wtf low riders but enjoying it so far!!! Working on the tilt, tried following @surfdado short on wtf rails for gtv drop in but think might be for standards but the defaults for IMU pitch rotation were so low on the default gtv config and for my low riders the setting is tricky to balance fully but soooo much better than FM stock, i can now kills steep offroad hills and cruising speeds are way better. Just learning the ins and outs now and tail drag some but have confidence i'll figure that out soon
I ordered the Cold Ones because I was concerned, but I didn’t get them yet and I was pleasantly surprised - it doesn’t go above 70 for me and we have hot weather here.
19km ? Is that not like 12 miles per hour? I don't understand the necessity for more power at those speeds
@@milesonewheelwinterTop was above 38kph = 24mph. Already did 42kph=26mph. Getting the confidence gradually…
@@milesonewheelwinterTorque is king!
@@milesonewheelwinter Power = Safety, the more torque the board has, the better it can handle scenarios that could result in a nosedive
That's a pace I can be comfortable with
little girl: Oh my God! :D Love it :D
Where does this overlay come from for speed, elevation, slope etc? Looks nice 👍
Thanks for review! How far does it go compared to stock GT?
Could you do the install yourself now after seeing it done one time? Great video!
Hey. Thanks for the update. I'm curious about the motor temperature. Did it get much hotter than with the standard controller? Are you using any type of heat sink or chiller on the axel? Thanks!
See below he didn't reply to your comment directly
Motor temperature gets worse when you demand more power. The GT motor overheats even more easily with a VESC controller, so you definitely need cooling solutions
@@surfdado 🙌🏾
Nice fall at the end! 😅So were you using Tony's default tune or you tried to tune it some? That 89% duty cycle was looking a bit scary
I haven't converted to VESC yet but I thought the DC was high for the speed. Could this be based on the tune?
@@chickenbriar There may not be any field weakening set in the settings.
I re-did the configuration because I saw the settings were not correct. Tony said he is configuring and tuning in advance, but I guess the pre-production controllers are not there yet, plus there is configuration that should be done on the actual install (like the IMU calibration).
I was similarly concerned. thanks for the informative replies, guys
Chewy almost had you!
Hope your knee is ok! Pants are now shorts!
Bro i thought you had this in Mph until i looked again..your top speed was only around 21 or 22mph...i do 25+ every day on my stock Gt which is like 40km or better 🤙. Really hoping these Gtv drop in kits are as powerful like i keep hearing because this video did not give me that
well you still have to work within the cutoff parameters of the bms and cells
also if he would remove field weakening he would get more power on the top end, every time it shows field weakening on the top of his phone he is trading torque for speed that he isnt even achieving
seems this run settings weren't fully configured to preference
Hey question about the kit! Will that controller support a higher voltage battery setup?
Yes, but apparently up to 20s. So it won’t support GTS stock battery, which is 27s.
yes but you'll have to replace the BMS - i got the ennoid v4 on an 84v battery 🎉
I'm assuming this replaces the controller, does it also replace the BMS??? Just curious with one of these for the GT or Pint if it allows you to replace the battery yourself.
Yes, gtv kit , replaces controller and bms
@@Kay0BotGreat, yeah just saw Tony's installation video on it replacing both controller and BMS. I figured replacing the controller would also require the BMS to be replaced as well but wasn't 100% sure (this is my other account).
how much does it cost?
Something like $200-250. Fucking peanuts.
399 pre-order, 499 after. upgraded batteries, extra

bro is really riding through palestine on a onewheel
He literally said Israel. Nothing to do with Palestine.
@@exotichotshot7221 its the same thing
Dude spent that much money to go eight miles per hour
Exactly right! Ride these at your pleasure, but nowhere near pedestrians. You can even play in traffic if you want just keep them off all Class-1, 2, and 3 pedestrian infrastructure.
Oh f off, you can ride slowly around pedestrians just fine. Just be respectful. Same as riding a bicycle when the bike path isn't safe. Pull over or carry it as necessary
I like how you say play in traffic, which can result in being run over and killed, over being on foot path which would result in some bruises. Maybe a concussion at worst.
totally *ssbackwards logic
