  • This video is for the veranda linden vynl gate kit. This is my first ever youtube video. The kit instruction measurements were wrong. So I am posting the correct method for making and installing the gate properly. I did talk to the manufacture about this problem and they are correcting the issue. This is a great product with a typo in the instructions. Also, if I seemed nervous in this video it because I was. I do hope this video helps.

    Hi James. Thank you for taking the time and making this video. It helped me install a Veranda Acadia gate kit. Making videos are not easy (especially for people not used to making them). You did great and I'm sure it will help many people with dealing with these gate kits 👍

      Sorry, for some reason I am just now seeing all these posts. I just added dry cement and the rain will set it up permanently

    Hi James, are your posts filled with cement or have aluminum?

    • @jamesvan6343
      @jamesvan6343  Před 4 lety

      I just add dry cement around the post and water it down after its in place and looks good. When you add water after the cement will soak up the water and harden

    Question, if your outside and the gate closes how do you open it?

    • @jamesvan6343
      @jamesvan6343  Před rokem

      I did mine as a security gate that will only open from inside the fence. But you can always use a pull line to one from outside or put a outside locking system

    Does anyone know how Veranda compares to quality of Duramax?

      I don't know but I ha e had mine for a while and it seems to last. I did however give it a good wash down.

    ...not to give you crap but shouldn't you have wanted to center the first fence panel so you didn't end up with an odd ball 2" piece on the end?

    • @rickmonroig1931
      @rickmonroig1931 Před 6 lety

      in this situation wouldn't that give him 2-1" pieces on the ends? If so , I think that would be too small.

      zakkwylde4201 That’s a stupid comment. Odd ball.
      Great Video.

      What is wrong with you rick. He could take the time to measure before putting panels in (or remove the panels that took him probably 5 mins to put in) and cut both end panels at 4 inches. He said the panels are 6 inches. Keeping in mind that these panels are tongue and grove, cut grooved end off of one and tongued end off of other. Great job thanks for video.

      @@rickmonroig1931o it would create even panels on both sides if you divide the difference between the two in half, then cut that measurement off of each panel and you’d have even pieces and a centered panel.

    Plumbed not level. Level is horizontal
    Plumb is vertical

    • @jamesvan6343
      @jamesvan6343  Před rokem

      I am just now seeing all these messages. If I said, level it's because I used a level not a plumb. 2 completely different tools.

    chief, when the blade is still spinning#### don't put your hand within the reach of the teeth. Or maybe re-install the blade guard. I recommend that when How To videos are shown that the actors show the viewers proper safety practices.

    • @jamesvan6343
      @jamesvan6343  Před rokem

      Lol, bro the guard was there its was a new saw with clear plastic cover. My real job I pull apart engines that are over 30 feet tall. My number one priority is safety first.
