    This is really helpful - I've been wondering how to improve my print making process. You should put a piece of styrofoam board behind the prints so that people physically can't bend them while shipping

    I've stamped mine with DO NOT BEND before and I've gotten photos from the people who received them of the box literally folded sandwich style in a mailbox. I ship mine in ULINE mailers like that too but now I sandwich them between two pieces of cardboard at least.

      There are several things for how to get paid for photos
      Use you social media accounts to market
      Setup your own blog
      Join a suitable course or site for marketing photos
      (I discovered these and why they work on Hartlyn photo pro site )

    You could always use printable sticker paper instead of a regular paper. Although cost wise it would probably be a bit more expensive than the regular one + some scotch tape solution.

    Hi Matt,
    Thank you very much for sharing your printing/packaging process. You are such an inspiration. I was thinking of doing the same with my own photos. However, I was wondering whether there is a better alternative to the plastic bags. I just want to deliver my photos with minimum damage to the environment. Do you have any suggestions in that regard? TIA Cheers, Waruna

      I'm looking for the same advice. I'm thinking of using a mailing tube for my prints as they are 18x24 which is very large

    • @northernimagesphotography
      @northernimagesphotography Před 3 lety +2

      @@lp2604 yeah mate that’d do perfectly, I use tubes for the larger prints. A4,A3 I post in card backed envelopes. It’s just what to do with the mounted or framed prints. I ordered some card boxes off eBay for the 20x16s and frames but once they’ve been used up I think I’ll stop offering the option of mounted or framed prints. For the additional bit of profit it’s becoming a pain in the behind, I think from next year it’ll be any size as print only posted in a tube keeping it simple.

    • @lp2604
      @lp2604 Před 3 lety

      @@northernimagesphotography yeah I think that's your best bet. I've stopped selling framed prints its not worth the hassel. And if they are framed I only sell them to locals. I've posted framed photos in the past and even with fragile on it, they still end up damaged and there is not much profit on them. I have a few large print orders waiting to go to America from Ireland and i think the safest way is in a tube.

      @joan-lisa-smith Před 5 lety

      @@WuschelofDespair ask them, ask if they have acid free art paper or if it's photos ask about photo paper, almost everyone carries Kodak photo paper (matte and gloss) as well as some others because people still print out wedding pix and businesses need photos printed as well. They will print out the quality that you bring to them saved on your memory stick so save high quality then just get one done as a tester that has lots of colour and see how it looks with what they offer.
