- One of my favorite moments of all time on Savage Garage was when I ran from the Police in my V12 Mercedes S65 AMG. I'm not proud that I did it, but i'm extremely proud of the content we made from it! Even though this didn't happen THAT long ago, I love going back to watch old videos I've made.

I’ve been pulled over a ton on my bike and cars and being honest and friendly always worked out for me honestly! From riding wheelies over the speed limit down the highway to launching the car. Simply telling them I’m a idiot and sorry has always worked 😂

That same cop pulled me over back in 2018, was at CMP for a track event and was on the way back from Columbia from getting firewood and he paced me going 78 in a 55. was very chill cop and dropped the ticket down to a 64 in a 55.

My plan (as an observer not shitting his pants in the hot seat) would be to say "I own the car." and then remain absolutely silent. Make the cop PROVE that I was driving. You can arrest me now, and try and claim I was speeding, running, evading, etc.... now prove it in a court of law.

Every time I have been pulled over for going excessively over the speed limit or even mildly over the speed limit it's always get the book thrown at you. Never once a warning or anything.

I got nailed last year heading to Ohio for the Triple F Collection's Car Show. Pennsylvania State Cop got me at 98mph and I knew I was done for. I pulled over as soon as I saw the cop moving, he didn't even have his lights on yet. Definitely a cool cop (there's still a few out there lol) he ended up dropping it to 5 over the speed limit. Huge break I could of gotta reckless driving, speeding and who knows what else. I definitely got a cool cop who cut me a major break. Needless to say I'm going back to Ohio here in a few weeks for The Event 2, fingers crossed I don't get caught again lol.

Of course hindsight is 20/20 and I’m sure you’d do things differently if you could - but I’ve always wondered why you incriminated yourself. If you felt you were costing the other rally members a day on the track and being selfish, I completely understand approaching the cop to “end it.” That said, I feel it would’ve been advisable for you to admit to the cop it was your car and say you’re pleading the 5th and need to talk with your lawyer beyond that admission. Then let the lawyer scrap it out with the prosecutor once all the potential evidence is disclosed, and without the only hard evidence (your admission) being a factor. Anyway, thanks for sharing your perspective - definitely one of the all time craziest police chases on CZcams with how well the entire thing was documented.

not how it works... they don't have to read you your rights just because they put the handcuffs on you...
They also don't have to tell you them when being booked....
They have to tell you after being arrested and going to be questioned on a crime... so they don't have to read them to you till they officially are questioning you...
most depts have SOP's where they tell you like 15 times before your first phone call... thats just CYA... not the law... nor is tv law real law...
I been pulled over when a cop caugh me going over 145 down a hill as he was going up... it wasn't a "freeway" but it basically was a freeway.. 4lanes huge median etc.. 55mph limit etc..
I could have dusted him because at the bottom was a hard right behind a hill and dumps right into a town. But as soon as I saw him kick the lights on and go to a turn around spot I just pulled over and lit a smoke and had my lic and reg ready...
I didn't run because I was between two towns that are just mins apart and the one I lived in was very red neck and only 20k people so my car would stick out. They might not have got me that day but driving that car after for a year or so wouldn't have been a good idea...
but worked out all fine... Cali chp only wrote me for 101mph... didn't arrest me.... didn't tow me... (I had reg issues so they could have towed for that or speed or both) and ticket wasn't nice but it could have been much worse... think I paid 500ish... and in cali... he could have really fucked me... but he was cool because I just pulled over and wasn't a dick to him...
