    Can you make a tutorial video on how to start cash stuffing and sinking funds for beginners? I know it’s probably pretty self explanatory but we’ve gotten conditioned to paying our bills due in our pay period versus splitting them up, and we are trying to become more mindful of our spending and find financial freedom. I love your system

    This was so useful as we do buy online/use card often. So, Emily, do u just round up what u paid to avoid dealing with coins/cents? Thank u!

    question: do you have a buffer in the bank so you don't over draw your account? Working with a zero based budget I was under the assumption nothing was in the bank except things that are withdrawn automatically.

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +2

      Yes we keep a buffer for a lot of reasons, but that is also one of them! A zero-based budget doesn't mean your bank account is at $0, it just means that you give every dollar from each paycheck a job - even if that job is to act as a buffer in your bank account.
      I always start with our income, subtract our bills, then with what you have left after bills are paid you can delegate to certain categories (groceries, gas, clothing, other sinking funds, savings, debt, etc.) until every dollar has a job.
      Hope this helps!

    😊 I purchase it yesterday, I wanted A5 but came up a little smaller print on my printer. Did play around, and for some reason b5 for perfectly for my A5 binder.Currently cutting the bottom and right side off the A4 paper while watching this 😊😊

    If you know it’s an item or category that you always typically use your debit card for (for example, if you buy your pet food online) can you just skip the cash stuffing for that category?

    I love this idea for online shopping! However, I travel for work and am no where near my local bank (not nationally recognized) which stinks so I just end up using my credit card for online purchases 😅

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +1

      This works with a credit card too! Just deposit the cash and use it to pay off your credit card 🤍
      I just don’t trust myself with a credit card 🙈😅

    Thank you for sharing this! I am new to cash budgeting and easy wondering how I'd work out online shopping.
    My other question would be how do you have enough money to cover the purchases before you put the cash back in? Do you have a buffer or minimum you keep in your checking??

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +1

      Yes! We keep a buffer in our checking account for online spending!
      It started off as a buffer for when we first started cash stuffing because we forgot automatic payments for some things at first, but once we got a grip on that, we just use it as a buffer now 🤍
      I don’t trust myself with a credit card so I’d rather borrow from myself 🤪

    Loved the video! I do this too, but it’s hard sort of for me because of the cents. If you spend $20.65 do you round up to $21? or $20?

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +1

      I always round up! So in that example I would round up to $21 🤍

    Emily, with this system, do you find you are going to the bank frequently to deposit/withdraw? Love the videos, I recently purchased a bundle from you and can't wait to start using it!

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +2

      Yay!! I can’t wait to get your order sent out! Got another 10 done today so I feel like I’m making a small dent 😅
      I go to the bank once a week! I deposit my cash into the ATM (so I don’t confuse myself 🫠) and then usually go in and get my cash for cash stuffing 🤍

    • @iammlyss
      @iammlyss Před 10 měsíci +2

      @theaestheticdollar how complicated. So you first deposit the money just to withdraw it again? Why just only withdrawing the difference? For example you spend 200 bucks online and need 400. Keep 200 in cash at home and just pull out 200 out of the bank? Makes more sense. That's the reason I've now stopped using cash envelopes. I switched to debit again but with tracking.

    Hi. I just started following you. I really like your shop and I’m considering getting the binders. But I do have a question. Will you ever do custom envelopes? I’m trying not to buy another set of envelopes (although now that I found you, I like your so more). Also, will you ever do a mini binder set? That would be perfect for errands.
    Hope this finds you. Be blessed.

    Hi! I’m still scouring your channel and watching all the videos, but I’m wondering if you would suggest this same kind of method if my bank doesn’t have a branch around me at all? Would you do the same thing and then deposit the money via a banking app using a money order? Or just “roll” or recycle the physical cash into the next week? Would you open an account with a different bank and transfer to withdraw and deposit there? Do you have any other suggestions for cash stuffing without a physical bank or branch ATM nearby?

  • @kimmelton2338
    @kimmelton2338 Před rokem +2

    So do you leave a buffer in your checking account to pay up front for items like this? And then just essentially pay yourself back? Or do you use a credit card?

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +4

      We have a buffer in our checking account! I will never have another credit card ever again because I can’t be trusted with them 🤣

      I use a similar method except I pay with my credit and unstuff the money from my envelopes to pay it off. But be very careful because using credit cards can be risky if you’re an impulse buyer (I’m in recovery lol)
