    Just found your channel and I'm obsessed. I'm 19 almost 20 and still living with my parents. I just got a full-time job so I figured it would be smart for me to start budgeting as if I was living on my own, this way when I actually am I'll have a lot in savings. Budgeting and saving has always been hard for me because I do have a spending problem and it's hard to keep track of everything. I appreciate how honest you are about also having a spending problem and struggling to know where the money is going and how there's no shame in that, also you're so good at explaining everything and you're digital downloads are so affordable. I've just ordered some affordable starter materials on amazon plus your All-In-One Budgeting System - Digital Download and I'm so excited to start my cash stuffing journey!

    I’m curious about your debt payoff. What is your thought on cash stuffing versus using the extra money to pay off debt faster? Seems like you are making enough income to do both? I have been debating and decided to hold off on sinking funds to throw everything at debt. I’d love to know your thought process. Thanks for all the amazing content!

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před 10 měsíci

      We are doing both! The reason we cash stuff sinking funds that way we do is because we are both self-employed, and I want to make sure that our family is taken care of if my husband and I both have a lower income month 🖤 I think at the end of the day, you have to do what’s best for you and your family and if that is being gazelle intense about paying off debt, then 100% that’s what you should do! 🥰

    Thank you for sharing with us on how you do your sinking funds. Do you feel that your money tends to last more or you spend less by stuffing weekly as opposed to stuffing biweekly or even monthly? I do it biweekly but I notice that I am running out of money by the end of the first week. Any suggestions??

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před 2 měsíci +1

    Hello, so i wanted to start cash stuffing im 18 and i had started my first job so far ive worked 2 months and i get paid Biweekly and i get around $480, so in total around $960 for every month except for the months that have 3 fridays such as june i get paid on the 29th so a 3rd time...but anyways i don't pay bills, or phone bills really nothing fixed as i live with my mom and i only pay for food when i go out by myself, i buy my own clothes, and sometimes hygine, and i like to read books so i do buy books every month or every 2 months, i also have a kitty that i want to buy toys for him, and ofc when its someone ik there birthday i want to buy them gifts, but in the end i just want to learn to manage my money and not buy just random stuff every time i go out somewhere im very organized and i do try my best to be mindful and not buy too much such as make-up i wont be buying anymore since i have enough🌸🌸

      Stuffing for fixed expenses is easy. Mortgage/month divided by number of paychecks/month. That is the amount that you should stuff each payday.

  • @SuzanneP-uv8fq

    I’m struggling a bit. I use funds of the month I’m in to plan my budget. I’m still working to have a month ahead of income saved up. How long did it take you to save up in order to use prior month’s earnings for the next month’s budgeting & expenses? Any tips how to get there?

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +1

      It’s just how we’ve always done it, we’re not a month ahead 🖤 I should have clarified that. It’s basically like how when people get paid, they’re getting paid for the work they’ve already done. It’s the same thing for us, we just pay ourselves once a month because it’s easier to make just one transfer from our business accounts to our joint accounts 🖤

    • @SuzanneP-uv8fq

    Still learning here…so, are sinking funds short term savings or what is planned for the month ?

    • @TheKidchaser
      @TheKidchaser Před rokem +1

      They can be short term, or long term. It can be for things such as vehicle maintenance, new car, house repairs, yearly income taxes. Whatever needs you have.

    • @FannyGodMother
      @FannyGodMother Před rokem +1

      Just as the other person said, you can set them up for whatever your needs are. Some other examples are things like pet costs, clothing, fun money, date night, etc. Whatever expenses you want to plan for! They can be small goals or large ones 😊

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem +1

      Y’all explained it better than I could have! Thank you!! And thank you for asking Emma 🥰 we’ve all got each others backs! 💪🏼

    • @DavidEVogel
      @DavidEVogel Před rokem

      I define "sinking funds" as unknown expenses: Vehicle maintenance. You don’t know when you will need $600 for new tires. Every month put $20 in your vehicle maintenance envelope. You will tally debits, credits and balance.
      So you have $700 cash in your vehicle maintenance envelope. Spend $600 for tires. The balance of your vehicle maintenance envelope just “sunk” to $100.

    • @theaestheticdollar
      @theaestheticdollar  Před rokem

      No, we haven’t saved to be a month ahead yet (we’re currently paying off all debt first). Since we’re self-employed incorporations, that’s how we pay ourselves 🖤
      It’s similar to how anyone is paid (self employed or not) they’re paid after they do the work, hopefully that makes sense 🥰
