    Thank you doctor for this video. I would add Microneedling though. I have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging as much as possible, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for around 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 44 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist (Never had jowls though). People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin and instead spending thousands of dollars on botox\fillers\serums\creams etc.

      Ive been microneedling for almost 10 years - most guess I'm @ 15 YEARS younger than my birth certificate says.

      +1 for kora beauticaIs. I've been doing microneedling since it started 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 55. They all say I am in my 30's or early 40's. As you know, as we get old, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkles. But the wounding kept my skin still thick and youthful. Your comment will help so many women to restore their skin..

      I’m a fetal position sleeper and I change my pillowcase every few days. I sleep on it once, turn it upside down (so my face will touch the less-touched part? idk my logic lol), then flip it to the other side, then change it.

      True. Some people’s skin is more sensitive to the environment and/or particles than others.
      My acne broke out like no other when I lived in Seoul. To this day, I believe it was the dust in the air that clogged my pores. Cosmetic chemist here. Sulfur in a cleanser has actually no time to do its job, just like any other active ingredient we are going to put in something that stays on the skin for a minute before rinsing.

    I bought the exact kate somerville cleanser due to your recommendation and used it for 2 months AM and PM, leaving on for at least 10min, and it did nothing to reduce the look of sebaceous filaments (didn't have any clogged pores so can't comment on that). But then I used ISDIN 100mg/g benzoyl peroxide covered with thick white layer of La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5+ and my sebaceous filaments improved by well over 60% overnight, they were barely visible in the morning. ISDIN on it's own was not enough tho when I tried it alone (when sebaceous reappeared in 2 days time) - as if it helps and my pores oxidise overnight again, the very important part is putting thick occlusive on top to not let pores oxidise again. As someone with oily T zone, nothing else helped and I tried A LOT, and no one was talking about face basting for sebaceous filaments specifically - would love to hear your opinion!

    As a perimenopausal woman- my skin has changed completely. At this point, the only things I’m using are a boutique soap with a soft washcloth and Cocokind Ceramide barrier serum and cream. Anything else drys me out, and/or breaks me out. During my early 40’s I had perioral dermatitis that went undiagnosed for a year or two, and had to use Metrogel to clear it up once I Googled all the symptoms and asked my dr if that’s what I had.🤦🏼‍♀️ It looks and acts like acne around the nose and mouth but never really clears up. My skin is finally soft, smooth and mostly blemish free now. 🎉

    Sulfur honestly almost affected my eyes… I used the De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment and I honestly hadn’t used it in a very long time, forgot about the whole “only 10 minutes” limit, though only kept it on as a temporary mask, this was under even my eyes (entire face treatment : right).
    I rinsed it off and dried with my towel.
    As soon as I sat down… Cause I was going to later shower, wasn’t going to moisturize right away (plus sulfur’s scent : I would’ve liked to double cleanse with Dove’s bar soap to help reduce the scent). ~
    My eyes immediately started itching, watering, releasing tears, couldn’t even keep it open from how reactive it started getting & I immediately look up on my phone what’s sulfur reactions to the eyes or what about if sulfur is near the eyes - All results are about “chemical burns”.
    I immediately ran over & my eyes are both red & watering like tears. I washed my hands and quickly flushed my eyes with cool water & cleanse my eye area to eyebrows to entire face & rinse & flushed with water my eyes & thankfully, my eyes cleared bright white again. And I was scared to relieved. Thankfully. Decided to never use it again. It gave me a terrible reaction (should Never be used for a bit of time & if you feel even heated or dizzy to lightheaded or especially never use it as a face mask or even near the eyes : It’s actually a dangerous chemical 😂😂). I would’ve never thought.’
    I ended up using it again a couple days after to spot treat painful hormonal cysts (my menses was approaching at the time and it was only relieved with clean extraction & treating it : Nothing solved it completely like actually having my menses on its day 1: surprisingly: everything calmed down immediately & my skin turned lusciously glowy).
    Fast forward now, I feel Benzoyl Peroxide (Panoxyl’s 10% BP Cleanser), though it’s a great clear skin staple, and does help treat hormonal acne the best - I feel it honestly makes my skin so dull overtime and like scabbed. I’m giving my skin a gentle break (it helps with glow surprisingly). My skin type is sensitive and dry, with mild dehydrated bits, I feel mostly on the forehead and maybe eye area.
    *PS, ♥️ La Roche Posay’s Double Repair Moisturizer [UV] immediately calms down its redness, with Niacinamide and ceramides; Also is an irritant to the eyes from having its sunscreen portion, so I’ve been double layering moisturizers, Eucerin’s Original Healing Lotion is great as an overall thick, occlusive/creamy moisturizer, and the LRP one stings (has Hyaluronic Acid: beneficial but it stings my skin & I’ve only gave its moisturizer a chance recently because of its benefits: Really good post-Benzoyl Peroxide to soothe redness, and to treat dehydrated skin. Though LRP has great products, I may preference Eucerin (even their Advanced Repair Lotion is amazing for body & face💯) & Aquaphor’s Baby Healing Ointment as a spot treatment & even on the lips to seal & repair (making sure it’s not too close to ingest) much more, even Vaseline with Cocoa Butter. 💯 [I like LRP’s moisturizer so far though : great post-BP** & its products during my esthetician’s past usage of them: Eucerin & Aquaphor may be more preferable though : for my like skin types! 🥰]
    So from my experience, sulfur definitely varies 😂😂 And I love how your past videos helped with validating the fact for me too (thank you!) • I honestly stopped liking it. Made me terribly reactive (purged my skin to the point my eyes got red red & watering). 😂 ‘Terrible. I think it was only kept for 7-12 minutes maximum too. Cause I was in between talking with someone even during a quick mask & rinsed it. To being so irritated to even keep my eyes opened (Goodness Forbid!) 😂😮‍💨🙏🏼 Stay safe! Spot treatment, even with use of a cotton q-tip is likely the safest bet I feel.

    Eating good also plays a HUGE part in good skin. I realized food like ice cream, condensed milk or desserts containing condensed milk, chicken skin, and eating hot foods during the summer rather than the winter. When I say hot foods it's not the tempuratures, it's the heat of the ingredient. For example, chicken is hot, but fish isn't. Turmeric is hot, but yoghurt and milk isn't. That's why homemade face packs that include turmeric needs to have something cool to counter the heat.
    These are foods that I found that affected my skin, maybe it's different for you. For my best friend it was milk and milk or white chocolate that was causing her acne. She had much better skincare routine than me, but it didn't seem to work so she went to the dermatologist and doctor, and that's how she found out. It broke her heart because she absolutely loved chocolate and milk, but once she swapped it with dark chocolate and alternative milk, it helped clear her acne.
    So once I started eating more vegetarian food during the summer and meat during winter and switched ice cream with fruit yoghurt or gelato and completely stopped condensed milk and including chicken or duck skin when I cook chicken or duck. My acne cleared up completely even when I had 'bad skin care routine'.
    Once I started taking care of my skin, I kept my products simple, and it really helped with removing all the acne scars I had.

      @mist8814 Před 2 měsíci

      This is interesting but could you elaborate on what you mean by hot and cold foods? Like most people I know of eat fish hot so not really sure what this means. Is it referring to the temperature of the regions where these types of foods were historically most consumed? As far as I know, Chicken is consumed still a lot in cold countries, and fish in hot countries as well like Portugal and Spain, so I'm a bit confused as to what this means

    • @myplateisempty.4292
      @myplateisempty.4292 Před 2 měsíci

      @@mist8814 yeah I know it's confusing but in most Asian countries there is this concept that food can be warm or cold for your body. If eating wrong it could make you sick or over heat your body.
      So I eat fish hot as well but it's more cooling for my body than chicken or meat. Chicken, ginger, turmeric are all foods that are warm for the body. So you eat such foods largely during winter or when you are sick. That's why chicken soup is healing for sick people. Foods like yoghurt, cucumbers, fish, most vegetables, melons and gourds, are all cool for the body. When you eat them, even when it's cooked and warm, it leaves your body feeling lighter and cooler. It's perfect during summer but sometimes you could get sick.
      For example, Mango is very hot, on its own if consumed a little too much during the summer season it could cause acne and boils. But this fruit is produced best in the summer, so we soak the mango in water for a while to get rid of the heat or leave it in the fridge. Guava is a fruit that is very cool. Since I have a sensitive throat I used to avoid guava because I'd get a throat ache. However my grandma would put salt and chilli powder to balance the cool of the guava with the heat from the chilli powder. Eating it this way significantly reduced the times I would get a throat ache. Also we aren't supposed to drink water after eating guava because water is cooling and will result you in getting sick.
      Another example is alcohol. It helps warm your body. People living in colder regions eat a lot of meat and drink alcohol because that's more suited for your body when you live there, but in a warmer country like India, being largely vegetarian helps kepp your body cool which is perfect for surviving the heat.
      You can search online for foods that are warm or cool for your body and can plan when to eat what.

    I only use clean wash clothes or paper towels for hands after washing face and let face air dry with small fan. Always do skin care first before body lotion or anything! And always use my foreo luna as it helps more than anything I’ve ever tried with cleaning out pores and with this routine I’ve finally got clear skin and clean therefore better looking pores.

    I completely agree with the face towels bit. I can instantly get breakouts if i put my face on a pillow or a dirty towel. Little things make the biggest difference

    Also change your pillowcase! Rotate and flip it so you get four uses out of each and then change it

    So crazy… after my night routine I would reach out for a kitchen towel. I know its weird but I just didn’t want to use my own face towel instead something new and disposable its crazy how our mind is connected to our body. This makes so much sense now! And I will invest in daily towels for the week 😂❤

    Cutting out dairy is the only thing that ever cleared my acne. It’s been 9 years and I haven’t looked back. I was 31 and wish I’d done it sooner in my life. The acne annihilated my confidence. I’m so grateful it’s gone, and it went fast with this.

    Don’t forget those “make-up sponges.” People reusing those but don’t wash those as often as you wash your hands! Nuff said.

    I really don't have much acne but my skin just looks dry dry dry! Not actively peeling or flaking, just dry. I use a hydrating cleanser, hyaluronic serums, Uber hydrating moisturizers. No change.

    I use a different flannel every day and salicylic acid face wash, I still get spots just a lot less than I used to. Oh and flip my pillows daily but yeah you can’t always avoid them all
