I remember when I was 13 years old and being at school listening to this song on a discman over and over again. Pantera became my favorite band and still is after almost 25 years since I discovered it.

Pantera were the rawest band of the 90's. You gotta appreciate that there was no Slipknot, there was no Korn, there was no Disturbed etc.......there was only Pantera, no competition, and they FN RULE

5 strings are definitely worth it for experimenting with lower tunings, but if I'm not mistaken, most/all Pantera songs can be comfortably played on a 4. They usually tuned in C#. You should check out more of their stuff! Dime got much of the credit (which was absolutely warranted, he was one of the most creative virtuoso guitarists in the world IMO) but Rex Brown gets slept on as a bassist sometimes. Some of his basslines are practically solos themselves (listen to "Floods" for a good example, especially the bass riff during the guitar solo). Cheers!

Pantera is known for one of greatest bands of all time for metal music. For me and for most people that play guitar, Dime (The guitarist) is the best of all time, and for some he isnt, but he 100% changed the way you play. He was so unique, technique, sound, vibrato, legato EVERYTHING man. He came to rock and rocked like no other. You should do more Pantera like The Sleep, Hollow, Floods, This love, Walk, Domination (live in Moscow)... There you can really feal the lyrics and GUITAR aswell. Great reaction btw keep on reacting.

I don't think Rex ever used a 5- though, someone correct me if that's wrong. I'm not as familiar with his more recent work.

Don't go 5 string! Try one... but I would warn you, they have thicker necks. way heavier. and so the headstock always wants to dip to the floor. You have to hold it up the entire time with your left hand!

Keep it up! Pantera on!! Little background to this song. Phil had a lawsuit filed against him for supposedly jumping off stage while performing live which claimed he had beaten up this guy that was in the crowd. Which was not true. The guys father got involved and said " I dont care about no lawsuit, I just want that Phil Anselmo 5 minutes alone." Phils manager later answered the guys father back saying "no, you wouldnt". Basically implying you dont want Phil 5 minutes alone. Phil growing up took boxing lessons and actually did a few boxing matches. Meaning Phil would've most likely rocked his shit goodnight. and so this song came to be!
