    The whole sequence of Roy going to the stadium is so damn perfectly done.

    The nicest touch is when Higgins' wife appears in blue while 'Rainbow" from the Stones say "Have you seen her dressed in blue". I almost teared up (well okaaay I did).

      Also when the song goes ‘have you seen her all in gold’, it shows Keeley in a gold jacket!

    i love roy kent's storyline this season so much but my favorite part of this episode is higgins meeting up with his wife at the stadium right as the song goes "have you seen her dressed in blue" and she's wearing all blue. so much love between those two

    13:38 when Roy looks back and tells the anchor (with respect to Jeff Stelling) “I got to go.” I laughed so hard. Tears in my eyes. So romcom.

    Nate turning to the dark side is a worry. So curious how this is going to evolve.

    So, I'm saying this right as I'm starting the ep, but we've both seen it (all of season 2 by now), so... nothing is being spoiled.
    I think season 1 is probably better than season 2; 2 had an easier path because of how good 1 was, because we know most of the foundational characters, so all that had to be done is continuing to develop them rather than introducing them, so 2 was still very good... but on rewatching, I find season 1 to be pretty strong across every element, whereas 2 had several storylines that I would rather skip.
    Part of that is Nate... unlike the other elements, this is more of a subjective than objective problem. I think the concept is a bummer, but the execution of Nate's arc in season 2 is very well done. You really called it out right off the bat, right from ep 1 of season 2, so it was foreshadowed/hinted at every step of the way so that it really didn't feel at all rushed or out of left field. Even though it's a bummer to remember Nate from season 1 ep 1 vs season 2 ep 12.
    BUT I bring it up here to specifically call out: I kinda thought Nate being a dick was just a passing thing (maybe a misfire by the writers) until this ep. Once he started spitting on the mirror, man... like, given how he came up, you think he'd not be such a nasty thing. You never even see him wipe the mirror off, and I think that was a deliberate choice by the creatives behind the show rather than an oversight of a small detail. Nasty thing.

      I feel like the first few episodes of the season were good enough because it was great to reunite with the characters, but yeah, this episode is really when the season felt like it recaptured the magic of season 1. And, IMO, largely kept it up except for the episode following Coach Beard. (Not a bad episode, per se, but just felt very un-Ted Lasso to me. I like Coach Beard but I really didn't care to follow him for the bulk of an episode. You can argue that we needed that to flesh his character out, but... not for me. Although the dance sequence to... what? I can't remember the song, but that sequence was fantastic.)

    I'm still confused about the whole restaurant storyline. Was it racism? Were they not giving nate the table because he was brown?? You would think to drive that point home they would have shown the table with a bunch of white people sitting there.

    • @Wizardofgosz
      @Wizardofgosz Před 2 lety

      @@jazzx251 it's not color blind. Whatever the heck you mean by that. When Sam was protesting against the oil company that was ruining Nigeria Ted came out before the press conference and pointed to his face and said whenever something bad happens to me you people report it with no problem but when they look like Sam you don't, that was a direct reference to skin color.

      I think it was just her, them, being assholes. Being difficult for no real reason, because sometimes people do that. I didn't read anything more into it than that.
      I could be wrong, of course, but I think it was just put in there - the wait staff being difficult - to give Nate a chance to learn to be more assertive. And to spit on mirrors, nasty thing.

    • @verbaluk1
      @verbaluk1 Před 2 lety +1

      The restaurant just don't take reservations for the window table. Simple as that. They were happy to reserve another table for him. It's not about the staff being difficult, and it's certainly not about racism. It was solely an opportunity for Nate to learn to be assertive.

    • @Wizardofgosz
      @Wizardofgosz Před 2 lety

      @@verbaluk1 That was one of my thoughts also, but why would that be their policy? It's just weird. That's just pretending a restaurant would have a weird policy just to service Nate's story.

      @JoeScottish Před 2 lety +1

      Not everything is about race..... it's just to show he's so meek and they didnt give him the table, but he got it when he was assertive......
