    This video amazes me! I'm blown away at how advanced Fusion was over 4 years ago! It's so cool to see so many things happen in this video that are being given as "Quick Tips" in very recent videos.
    Also, Aaron, if you read this comment, it's funny to see how what Fred Genius and I were talking about in Jason's last live stream has been possible for a long time! Starting at around 16:25, Taylor adjusts unconstrained sketch geometry in the same way that I suggested Jason do it to move those leaves on top of the tree branches!

    Thanks Taylor, I got something from this. Only a week into trying to teach myself, I'm coming from 17 yrs. of sign making using CorelDRAW which I self taught for that. Fusion is mind blowing for me, but I'm getting it very slowly.

    The Project Tool is missing from Fusion 360 as of lately. I found they combine this feature into the "Split Face" tool under the "Modify" menu with similar usage as outlined in this video.

    This video has some really good information, but I wish the instructor didn't blow through that loft error he was getting at 33:07. I have found lofts to be a highly fragile feature in Fusion 360, and when I get an error like what this guy had, I just can't move to another point in the timeline - I have to fix it! It would have been instructive if this instructor didn't just sweep the error under the rug, but instead tried to explore what caused it.

    Oh my! Thank you Autodesk for this. I was really having problems with understanding Sketch/project tools and this one answered the questions i had. I noticed you didn't go through how to use Sketch > Project > Intersection curve tool. Maybe an addendum video? But thanks so much. Hope you will do more of this for tools like create > rib, web & pattern. By the way, are the webinars opened for public? If so how do i know when you do them?

    When you create a plane along a path and then a sketch on that plane, doesn't it set the origin to exactly the point along the path? So was there really any need to project the curve at 20:18?

If anyone has suggestion I would really appreciate it. 31' 53" into the video. Just cannot replicate it...

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  Před 4 lety +1

      @Thomas- Yes, you could use Offset in the Surface menu to create 0 distance offsets, which basically captures the face of a model. You could then use that new surface to help with your design of a sheet metal component.

    @carpanimachine1875 Před 5 lety

    Hello. I'm brand new to Fusion and I had a question about project. I don't understand why you took the extra step of projecting when all I did was use a construction line and drew a circle on it then extruded. Done... Is there an advantage to project? I have been using mastercam for a long time and I would avoid project because it was so finicky and irritating to use.

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  Před 5 lety

      Biggest advantage is that anything projected will follow future edits. If you're not worried about that, it doesn't need to be used.

    • @carpanimachine1875
      @carpanimachine1875 Před 5 lety

      @@adskFusion OH! Nope that is a good thing to know. In mastercam (I came from that) I never really figured it out and it was always temperamental. I'll remember that. Thanks!

  • @mcnultyfp

    Switching from visual style shaded to shaded with hidden edges makes the extruded part reappear, but only as a wireframe. Acceptable?

  • @steelstone
    @steelstone Před 4 lety

    Fantastic video, thanks a lot !
    Among many questions I may have, I'd like to make line (or arcs) tangent to a spline (on a fit point, or maybe anywhere on the spline). I can do it with arcs, circles, but not with splines. Any advice for this ? Thanks again !

    • @steelstone
      @steelstone Před 4 lety

      Answering myself. I found on the Autodesk forum a workaround, which is drawing a line, adding coincidence constrain to a fit spline point, and then parallel constrain with the spline handle on that point. It works but, in that solution the spline changes to adapt itself to the new line. I'd like the reverse, a new tangent line to a fixed spline. Fixing the spline hides the handles, thus not allowing parallel constrain.
      Thanks again.

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  Před 4 lety

      My thought on this....can you fix the spline point without fixing the entire spline? If not, or if I'm missing the point, can you pose this question on the forum with supporting files/images?

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  Před 5 lety

      If its a straight piece, you might want to use a sweep with twist instead. That said, when creating a loft you'll see control points where the connections are made between sketches. You can click and drag those around to force it to twist. See this for more details on the loft command: czcams.com/video/fXQ28AVaMh0/video.html
