  • Google Wifi is a new approach to home Wi-Fi. It’s designed as a connected system of points that are placed throughout the home to provide bedroom to basement connectivity. Whether your house is large or small, Google Wifi points work together to deliver wall-to-wall coverage to handle all of today’s Wi-Fi hungry devices. It also gives you easy control of your network so that you can stay in control.

      This obviously isn't intended for people who need the absolute fastest and most reliable internet possible. Although I will say that my OnHub has been performing amazingly well, almost no difference compared to a wired connection. Granted, my internet is "only" 50/25, but with 9 devices connected all the time and still performing the same as wired? Pretty good if you ask me.

    Notice this:
    There's a Google WiFi in every room in these houses.
    WiFi pause: Because you can't get up off your lazy butt and take your kid's phones.
    There's more, but I'm not typing them. You try it: find the flaws in everything Google. I've been doing it for the last 3 years or so.

    I hate this already, for one you can easily turn it off with an app, what happens if hackers get in, it will be like the mac virus that encrypts your hard drive and forces you to pay money to get the password all over again

    • @The-Tech-Man
      @The-Tech-Man Před 8 lety +32

      That's okay, since you're not that important if a person, you won't have to worry about a hacker attacking you for no reason. The market they are targeting is for family every day use. Not for when someone needs a superior amount of encryption because they are up in the food chain. Besides, good is pretty good about encryption.

      But a hacker that would be doing that to an "ordinary citizen", can be not much more than a petty thief. When you get mugged on the street at night, the guy pointing a gun at you doesn't necessarily know you have a lot of money; he just wants it, no matter how little you have.

    • @The-Tech-Man

      Tell me what's the difference between this, and any other router getting hacked? Most routers use online applications these days, even my friends xfinity one, you never hear about those being hacked? There are so many different kinds out these days running much different software that no real hacker is going to target that. Hackers, most of the time, target windows and MacOS these days because, no matter the hardware, the software is the same throughout all the machines.

    I don’t really understand why Google brings out this product. Probably there is some additional spy-ware on - that collects some data, and can be given to the FBI, NSA, and whoever pays some bucks to Google?
    I really don’t know - but in 2016 to offer a router, which “works” and has a pause button, isn’t really that impressive.
