      Yes sir, dry heat and we're super white lol so I go crispy critter, not worth the burn for me as I never tan. The walls are around a lot of homes but not all, helps block the wind really nice. Take care and don't scorch and stay hydrated out there. 👍👍

    let me ask you a professional question. Codes in many states do not approve wet setting onto fresh concrete (I prefer to do it though). Engineers say that there is no real bond between cinder block (first course and concrete). What would you say as a pro?

    • @SolidworksUnlimited
      @SolidworksUnlimited  Před 4 lety +2

      The only reason an engineer would say it has no real bond is because there is no spec holding you to an exact depth you have to set your block into the concrete. So you could set it on top of a footing that is almost too hard to pound it in. Basically they don't have enough control over how it's installed. But if you set it into the concrete it definitely has a bond.

      @@SolidworksUnlimited Thanks for such a quick response! You confirmed what I knew before! I just never had an answer from such a pro. Another question, if you do not mind. I am working on a project where homeowner wants to fill all of the block sells with regular Type S and rebars (it is a 4' high free standing wall). I do not see a problem with it. What would you say?

      Mortar is not a good idea as a grout, it has too much limes and salts in it, you would have a constant effloresence bleeding out of your wall and it would deteriorate it very quickly. Concrete is cheaper and a better product for that application.

      @@SolidworksUnlimited I went with concrete instead of mortar. thanks for the advice!

      @@85Koshka you won't regret it. I did a repair job where a guy grouted his wall with mortar and as I was pulling it down it just fell apart the mortar had cracked inside the wall because its mix design is to be a maximum thickness of 5/8" and the rebar had a reaction to the mortar as well and started breaking it down, kind of a white effloresence rust looking stuff built around the rebar and was quite flaky. Glad you switched, even though it may have been inconvenient. Take care and hope your wall lasts forever.
