    I know this build is over a year old but I was compelled to share, that as far as the rotor mishap I've read that Corvette spindles along with their bearings are some of thickest beefy upgrades you could make for a performance build.

      So, I dont know if I put it in another video, but what happened was, the caliper brackets had 1/8” tabs cast into them. This made the caliper sit 1/8” off, not allowing a 1” rotor. I carefully ground down the 1/8” tabs and the calipers lined up perfectly and accepted the 1” drilled and slotted rotors.

      If you email me (address in vid description), I’ll send you the original frame blueprint. If the frame rails are the same width apart, you can use this or any IFS kit for these trucks. The only thing you will have to do is find center wheel base, which is found by measuring from each leaf spring bolt on the same side, and then marking center.

    I just so happen to be making very similar mods to my '57 3100, except I'm using the Full Tilt kit as delivered, and my truck's previous owner had installed a TCI MII front suspension.
    On the TCI kit, the same calipers (the Wilwood forged units that you are using) are contacting the caliper brackets prior to the calipers fully seating. Was wondering if you found anything similar?

    • @intheshoptv
      @intheshoptv  Před 2 měsíci

      So if the caliper brackets are at all like mine, they have a little pad on the mounting ears that is just part of the casting. However its meant to leave, or shave down depending upon what rotor width, caliper you use. I had to shave mine. They protrude 1/8” if you leave them, and are flush if you shave them.

    Hello ! GREAT video! Did you end up swapping out the old rubber dust boots to the Energy Suspension? What is the part # for upper and lower dust boots, if you don’t mind me asking. I have the same upper and lower and I’m trying to find the part # to order. Thanks for your help

    • @intheshoptv
      @intheshoptv  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Ha! Great question - one that Im STILL trying to figure out. I looked at the size of every one of their boots in millimeters and NONE of them match the upper or lower control arm ball joints. As soon as I find suitable poly replacements, I will make a video showing which ones I chose and the ridiculous effort it’s taking to find them!
