  • It’s time to say goodbye to the 9.7 inch iPad Pro. According to Apple, 10.5 inches is the goldilocks size for their newest Pro. It’s not too big, not too small, and is essentially a refined version of its 12.9 inch predecessor.
    This Pro packs an on screen keyboard with full sized keys, improved latency when using the apple pencil, a fancy new display that offers true tone color plus pro motion, all powered by Apple’s new A10X Processor. With so many upgrades, we’re left with only one option: get out our tools and tear it down!

      Actually it can be done without damage, IT'S A NEW LOCATION THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT......It was previously on the side, now it's on the bottom, they found out by trial and error. Once you know where it is, it can be opened successfully.

    I love my iPad Pro 9.7", but it seems like springboard keeps crashing because apparently its a about a gig short on RAM.
    Anyway, with all that adhesive, you would think the iPad would have a bit more water resistance.
    My iPad, when facedown, is sometimes hard to pick up, and sometimes get added stress on the Lightning port. Lightning port replaceability, and added water resistance should be added in future revisions. Not to the extent of an iPhone, but enough to resist 100% humidity or a quick splash for short periods, as people using tablets also use them as portable TVs.
    Would the water/humidity resistance of this recent iPad be better, than say, previous generations? I'm hoping that if they are going to be using ore adhesive, it better come with water and environmental resistance, than to reduce serviceability, ala Samsung. Otherwise, I'm very disappointed at the move towards planned obsolescence for a black box system.

      Giorat23 Apple actually makes their devices easy as shit to repair. You have to realize that Apple engineers are most likely considered when designing a new device because they need to repair them at Apple stores. If you're good enough, you may also just learn to repair them. I repair my own apple devices and I'm terrible with electronics so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • @AaronSchwarz42
    @AaronSchwarz42 Před 7 lety +3

    gluing a lipo battery into an aluminum heat sink case next to hot logic makes no sense & is horribly unethical
    li-po batteries fail, swelling up toward the end of their life
    if a li-po battery is ripped while swelling, the tear can cause venting with flame (galaxy note 7) which bricks the device + more
    li-po cells have a finite useful life : often vastly exceeded by the high quality boards, displays and cases that Apple builds with!
    if a li-po battery is glued into place, removing it become hazardous, requiring the heating of the flammable oil filled lithium cobalt fire prone battery, or the use of toxic solvents to soften the glue
    while iPad battery changes are notoriously difficult : I kept my ancient iPad 2 battery between 30-80% charged and it still works to my utter amazement : meaning that Apple used some special sauce in the chemistry : that resulted in a battery that keeps going and going
    most end users harm their device batteries by repeated 100% charging : every time a li-po cell is fully charged it loses capacity faster : fully charging causes mechanical shrink swelling damage of the anode and cathode
    aerospace li-po batteries are fully charged to 3.77vdc and the low voltage discharge cutoff is 3.15vdc : roughly 32-77% state of charge range respectively!
