  • The film clip starts and ends with footage of the Inner Harbour and then focuses on Beacon Hill Park.
    The Chinese Bell was originally the temple bell of the White Rose Buddhist Convent of the district of Foo Ning, China, it was looted by British troops during the Boxer Rebellion. Lt WB Macdonald of the HMS Pique presented the bell to the City of Victoria in 1903. The bell now sits in the Victoria Art Gallery
    The people filming this leave Victoria for Vancouver of the CPR Princess Kathleen
    The plane at the start of the film clip is a Boeing C-204 Thunderbird, registration CF-ALA

    Lovely to see this vintage footage, particularly of the landscape around the Inner Harbour at that point in time. Beacon Hill never changes much throughout the years!

    Funny how not much changed from the 30's to the 60's around the harbour.
