Dirk, Luka, and Jokic are able to play in the modern NBA. Those guys have similar athleticism and skill sets as Bird. If they could do it, then you better believe that Bird could play into todays NBA. People forget how good Bird was, he gave Shawn Kemp (who was one of the most athletic players ever to play) his welcome to the NBA moment by lighting him up for 40. If you can score 40 against Kemp, Bird will do just fine in today’s NBA.
All I have to say to Gilbert for saying Bird would beat LeBron is crack is cheap. 😂 Dennis saying Bird would be playing in Europe is disrespectful and a violation. 🤣 If we time traveled a prime peak condition Bird into today's league he would be dropping 50 points a game in a league of no defense and everything is a foul.

The disrespect for Larry is crazy Jokic is not better than Bird. The only Jokic might be better at is dribbling. Larry was a great passer of the ball and rebounder.
Jokic is a better rebounder by a decent margin, I would say Jokic is a better passer but its a wash really. Jokic also just shot 46% from 3 in the playoffs which is better than any Larry Bird season
@@stefcika9232 Jokic also plays the 4/5 and is damn near 7 foot. He’s supposed to be a better rebounder than Bird. As far as your other point the 3 point wasn’t a shot most players focused on and trained in the 80s/90s. @dariog36th You good, just having a little fun. I happen to think Jokic is the best player right now. But the best players are from the USA, with all due respect.
I'm not sure how good Rodman would be in today's game. In fact, you could debate if he's even playable. 7 points a game, 40% from the line, over the top physicality that would be illegal now - he'd probably be purely a rebounding specialist coming off the bench for low minutes and that's about it. I don't think he's DPOY, All Star, HOF Dennis Rodman in the pace and space era.
I respect rodman as a ball player. But whatever he's smoking he needs to stop it...Pure foolery. So Larry Bird will not be a top 10 all time player then?..if that's the case we need to kick out alot of those top 50 as well 🧢🧢🧢🧢 ING
my goodness the disrespect to Larry.. that man is literally one of the best. Sure he wasnt gifted athletically like that which just makes what he did in his career way more impressive. Now, would he beat Bron? shiiiieeee idk Bron literally like 2 or 3 best all time
I'm not sure how mentioning Jokic's less-than-elite athleticism helps Rodman's argument. Seems like a reference to the two-time MVP and current Finals MVP would work in Bird's favor, especially if the point is that Jokic is slow as hell. Jokic dominated the playoffs without elite athleticism and explosiveness. Doesn't that imply Bird, who was also slow as hell, could dominate in this era (and if not dominate, prove himself to be one of the best players in the league)? I'd put my money on LeBron if he and Larry played one-on-one, but Rodman's response is typical Dennis Rodman. My man is a massive hater. Always has been. Larry Bird would be forced to play in Europe because he'd be unable to compete with today's players?!? Laughable. Dennis is proving, once again, that he's not the brightest bulb. Then again, he also did a movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme called "Double Team." That, in and of itself, says a lot about how seriously we should take Dennis Rodman.
Larry wasn't as slow as you may think. ....Watch some of Birds videos here on you tube (especially his early years) he moved alot quicker than you imagine
The game moved a lot slower and it less about defense and more about who threw the strongest haymaker at the offense. He wouldn't thrive off athleticism but it would be off his shooting. Destroying teams from deep.
Speed? Physical strength? “All that power he has going?” How does 1v1 nullify any of that? Yall keep listening to Gil if y’all want as if he wasn’t out of the league smack dab in the middle of his prime 😂
@@silewis9396 That and a few other things, but my point is he says a lot of shit that’s honestly just dumb. And I love all those morning shows so I know people have to go out on a limb all the time, but he seems to think he sits higher in stature than a guy who was just a bucket getter in his prime. I saw Rudy Gay, Isaiah Thomas(the younger one), etc do it too.
Idk why people try to always say 1v1 ...1v1 has nothing to do with being a great ball player....and how can Dennis aay Larry couldn't play in the NBA now.....no one would get mad if Larry shot 25 3's a game and made 5-6...Larry played 13 years in the NBA 5 with a bad back...now he would play 20 years
Larry Bird being anything less than dominant is ridiculous. He’d be a top 5 player; top 10 at worst. However, to say he’d beat Lebron 1v1 is just as wild.
Larry bird as he was in the 80s would possibly have difficulty only off athleticism. If you allow him to use the sports medicine and training methods today then yes he would likely dominate. The only thing is that the game moves so fast now but I think he'd be able to destroy teams from deep even more now. His touch and instincts were second to none but his athleticism was the only real deficit in his game.

Larry bird is like 6 foot 10 , and can shoot the three like curry can shoot it….. he would just shoot over lebron and draw fouls all day. If you can score 40 against Kemp, Bird will do just fine in today’s NBA.
errtime glad be laughin i be cryin to LOL
"Bird for 3 swish" is all you would hear if he played today.
@tru3199lol the players would kill him when he gets on defense
Bird was really great i remember seeing him ball you could count on Bird 🐦
Man wtf is Dennis Rodman talking about bird is a top ten legend a time
1v1 is the situation.
If you disagree, you disagree.
Jordan fanboys think that they are smart:
Team Average 1985/86: 110.2 Points per Game// Team average 2022/23: 114.7 Points per Game.
Team Average for 3PTs 1985/86 :0.9 👈😂// Team Average for 3PTs 2022/23: 12.3
It would be closer then you think I think lebron wins 6 games out if ten though
Rodman got real hate for Larry, smh
Rodman has been doing too many DRUGS 😂. NEVER disrespect Larry Bird!!
Still no full interview. The link leads to the community page 🤦🏾♂️
Dennis Rodman is good enough of a basketball player to say this all facts
Its all facts becose you are black,is that right...
Hall of fame worthy
This is not facts. Rodman is jealous of bird.
It's not facts. People saying Bird wouldn't be a beast today are just as dumb as the people who try to dismiss Rodman as a great rebounder.
Pippen is in the hall of fame. Does that make everything he says about Jordan facts?
The disrespect for Larry is crazy Jokic is not better than Bird. The only Jokic might be better at is dribbling. Larry was a great passer of the ball and rebounder.
Jokic averages a triple double as a Center!!! Chill
@@sethhoward9300that’s not impossible as long as you have some form of playmaking ability. he leans into his ability to pass ofc he gon get trip dubs.
@bigolealmond bird averaged 28/9/7 in 86 if you think he couldn’t average a triple double in this era of the nba you’re a idiot
It became a focal point in Jokic’s era so it makes sense his percentages are higher than someone who played 30 years ago.
Congrats Vladimir Lyubovny,
You proved you can conduct an
interview without
' leading the Witness ' and still
get an outtake that trends.
And same as law, now a
precedent has been set.
That's funny cause all the best basketball players in today's game come from Europe so Larry would still dominate today's game.
Larry bird a legend 🔥🔥🔥
I think nobody told Dennis that the best players from the NBA these days come from Europe.😅
Maybe he ment the Lary Byrd comment as a compliment not as a diss.😂
Knock it off!😂😂😂
4 of the last 5 mvp awards went to Europeans. Finals MVP was European. #1 pick is European. They about to take over the NBA .
@dariog36th 5 of the last 4???? What kind of mathematics yall practicing in Europe 🤔
@@focus2521 sorry, fat fingered it. Fixed it.
Now, would he beat Bron? shiiiieeee idk Bron literally like 2 or 3 best all time
I thought my volume went down when he started responding 😅
Rodman is still a detroit bad boy, he knows what Larry could do...
Y’all better put some respect on Larry Legend don’t get me wrong they are more athletic now but Larry ain’t no push over at all
Bird was nice !!! Bird would kill many players
Yeah from the 3 point line. U gotta put Larry against like Reggie or Curry...
Man Larry was 6’10 shooting that shot he could easily play today
Larry wasn't as slow as you may think. ....Watch some of Birds videos here on you tube (especially his early years) he moved alot quicker than you imagine
Larry bird is 3x all defensive , something Jokic won’t do in his career
Also , 3 rings to Jokic 1
Well said Larry Bird played when basketball was rough when it wasn't a foul until you seen blood
The game moved a lot slower and it less about defense and more about who threw the strongest haymaker at the offense. He wouldn't thrive off athleticism but it would be off his shooting. Destroying teams from deep.
compare Larrys Celtics with Jokics Juggets and then u have your answer why.
Yeah I don't know who Rodman thinks he's bull shitting. Probably himself.
@tru3199 yea I mean those Celtics were probably top 3, easily top 5 NBA Teams all time
where is the full interview for members?
Lmaooo! My guy
Speed? Physical strength? “All that power he has going?” How does 1v1 nullify any of that? Yall keep listening to Gil if y’all want as if he wasn’t out of the league smack dab in the middle of his prime 😂
😆
You're right about the speed and strength point but Arenas was out of the league because of knee problems.
He’s speaking on playing 1v1 with limited dribbles which is why he picked Larry.
I was thinking the same thing like bro am that you just said helps him 😂😂😂
The three point line was still new when bird and then were playing
Major legend right here
And Rodman, if he played in this era, would be in North Korea
The nba of today is terrible defensively. The greatest players ever were of before. Not todays era.MJ for example was also a great defensive player.Led the leagues jn steals and defensjve player of the year.Lebron never got either title. Nor has Stepheon.Becauuuse defense is ans after thought. When u play child.Put all cards on deck!
@@snipernosniping4714 He beat Magic, Isiah, Dr. J, Monchrief, MJ! Why not Lebron? I think Lebron would be easy meat for Larry. Larry'd be in his head so deep, Lebron would take an early vacation or call in sick.
Don't forget how savage Larry was with the razor sharp tongue🤪
I think he smokes lebron that's not lebrons game
If Lebron got the ball first, Bird may not get it back
Bird can hang i played ball guarded dudes who was taller nd stronger I was strategic with my approach every time they drive i either harrass til I strip the ball out they hands or smack it out they're hands strength ain't everything trust me
@@mashups4life212Buddy Lebron would beat you so bad you’d never look at a basketball im being honest you wouldn’t bother him at all so maybe don’t bring yourself into this comparison and lebron would wash bird he is the athleticism standard no nba player has been more athletic
Bird would stand back and let him shoot I think lebron wins 6 out of ten but he isn't no where nearthe shooter larry is nor post player. Bron ain't steam rolling Larry. I think he wins probably 60% of the games but they'd be close
still holds a grudge
😂😂😂 Dennis…Come on, man!
Facts LeBron would back him in on every play
That’s what I’m saying dawg, Bird never had to guard somebody as big, physical, and fast as Lebron James, Bird is not even quick on his feet enough to stay in front of Bron and Lebron could clamp up Bird let’s not forget that Bron was a fantastic defender in his prime, he should’ve won DPOY in 2013 but they robbed him, Lebullyball all day😤
@@beery6659Jason terry was lighting everyone up that playoffs tho and even then the next year he beat OKC who swept the mavs in the first round
Gilbert been smoking good za 😂😂😂
How many people checked their sound when he started air talking at first. 😆
Bird would be so dominant in today's game. Not only was he great but can't think of anyone in today's game who hustles like he did.
Dennis is TRIPPING!!! Larry Would AVERAGE a 30 point TRIPLE DUB in TODAY'S NBA!!!
😂😂😂😂
EASILY
Bird ain’t beating Lebron 1v1
no bro he would not, you oldheads are really crazy !
@@kabuliish2 out of their minds
Rodman speaking Facts✅️
If that's the case, everyone beats prime Shaq one on one.👀
Where TF is the FULL interview?
Larry bird is like 6 foot 10 , and can shoot the three like curry can shoot it….. he would just shoot over lebron and draw fouls all day. Not too mention he was also capable of rebounding against the big and strong centers from his era. So it’s not crazy to think Larry could take lebron 1 on 1 . Larry would never miss, but lebron , unless he was trying to dunk every play, would in theory miss a jump shot before Larry would miss it.
😂Bird couldn't dunk a ball in practice. Plus, he lacked speed & Athleticism.
@truesupreme1912he acting like Bron 6’3 😂😂 LeBron is 6’9 (NBA measures without shoes so probably 6’10 with shoes) my guy and with longer arms than Bird and with a 45’ inch vertical way more stronger, it would beat a cake walk for Bron
Lebron would kill Larry bird and Larry was a great player
"Larry would never miss" the glazin bro... we not talking about the shots u take every night from him smh.... we talking about Basketball shots and of course Larry would miss shots, there is 1v1 footage of Curry or KD in practice against other players and they miss shots too and they are both better than larry in 1v1 so just stop it oldhead
@@kabuliish2 these young whipppersnappers don't have a clue. They're just full of themselves. Perhaps one day they'll all wake up. But probably not🤣
That would be a great game
