Benjamin Shine：One Piece and Oneness

“I noticed a crumpled piece in my studio, and the pleats could somehow form an image within that single piece.” Artist Benjamin Shine explained as he recalled the inception of what would become his creative-explorer career. By folding, ironing, and structuring, he transforms a complete sheet of tulle into a face on canvas. This reveals his innate approach to balance and harmony. While his name is closely related with the fashion masters and design awards, the artist remains true to the aspirations he developed in front of the fabric store windows.
In this fast-paced age of distraction and information overload, people are losing real connections to themselves and each other. For Shine, these anxiety and agitation are pacified through the natural flow of tulle, and a sense of oneness is awakened. Building upon this, the artist is able to constantly refresh himself, and make each single piece of fabric a living legend.
