Loved the landline, and the answering machine, you did not have to dial a number to hear your messages, you could hear while cooking, working on something, but too busy to answer at that moment. Now if you do not check, busy on something, you miss calls that are hours, almost 1/2 a day. At least for me, and a few others I know.
