These People Quit Their Jobs in Public Places

  • These are ways people publicly quit their jobs. In July 2023, 27-year-old Darby Maloney recorded her resignation and posted the video on TikTok. In 2014, Alaska news reporter Charlo Greene publicly announced on-air that she was leaving her job at KTVA to fight for the legalization of marijuana. In 2021, several people said goodbye to their jobs on social media as part of a phenomenon called “quit tok.” Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

I walked out years ago as a waiter in a family style restaurant. The manager got up all in my face in front of customers because I was serving them larger portions than they ordered. I handed her my ticket book and said to her in front of the customers "nobody humiliates me in public". As I walked out I told my coworkers I would be a local bar and they showed up after their shift. They said that the table I was serving applauded me. It was the best feeling in the world. Later after graduating the university I quit the U.S. and moved to Europe. That was more than 30 years ago and that too was the best feeling in the world.

Teachers need to change their professions after so many years. With their excellent reputation, they can find a specialized field, where they can make double, triple, the amount of annual salary and benefits. Safer, happier, healthier, and treated fairer.
Don't get me wrong, we NEED teachers 💕. But my mom used to be a elementary school teacher, and she was THE BEST. EXCELLENT. But she no longer BELIEVED in our Public School System anymore because of one of their No Tolerance policies. It ruined one of my sibling's life in middle school, and unnecessary.
The sky is The Limit, so keep putting in resumes, and every year or so, continue to look for higher paying salaries; so you can Live The Dream. Don't be miserable just because you care. God can open new doors for you, if you want it. He won't fault you for choosing a different career. Choose yourself. You come FIRST.

Teachers get a lot of federal holidays off that most people in the private sector do not get off. They also get off for spring break and three months off during the summer. They chose to go into that profession and they need to be held accountable for that instead of complaining about the pay not every profession is going to pay you $100,000 a year or more.

I work at a thrift store so basically retail for 2 years. I'm contemplating on quitting because it's taken a toll on my mental health (autism) & some days I do stress on what may happen at work. We also got a new manager that I don't what to say about her. She's nice but so many changes were made that I didn't agree with much. Some of them I get don't get me wrong but getting the store next day ready when it looks good & straight to me is good. Sometimes she did point out some stuff that didn't belong in one of the aisles & I'm like "This could of been dealt with till tomorrow?" I'm the one that does all the straighting & reorganizing & sometimes there will be a item I missed or someone just placed it there at the last min which happens alot. Not saying I hate her, there's just a few disagreements.

Did something similar almost ten years ago. Was high stress for decades. Guess what? Had emergency heart surgery in November (2023), and they don't know if my heart will repair itself.
Do what your gut tells you to do. The people at the hospital couldn't believe I had no relatives. They all predeceased me. It is me and my dog. May go through a few rough patches, and we will continue down the bumpy road of life. And have made arrangements for my dog should I predecease her.
